Vehicle gasoline was not full. We filled it 24.43 litres and we had only driven 50 kms + or -, that's horrific mileage if it was full. Vehicle was not clean. If I were moving something I wanted to keep clean I would be concerned. Windshield was filthy. I had to drive further than my chosen location so that added extra mileage. I would strongly recommend putting the instructions for after hours returns on the sheet you give to your customers (website, step by step, need for phone). I walked to the lock box thinking I was done for the night. I made several walks back and forth between the truck (at the other end of the lot) and the lockbox in order to complete my online form. After a long day of moving, this was an unnecessary barrier to completing my move. Up front explanation, while outlining this process on the information sheet, would solve this problem entirely.Sean L.

At the Edmonton location I went to for pickup I was told by the associate there that I could pay for an extra day for a one-way rental trip just in case I needed it. He said that if I returned it a day earlier I would get refunded for paying for the extra day. This turns out to be incorrect as I found out at the drop off location in Trenton Ontario. The trailer I received for rental also had very worn tires, some extremely worn and lacking tread entirely in places. One of the tires was noticeably low on air upon inspection so I filled it up and it turns out it had a leak in it right from the beginning. The Trenton location at drop off was fantastic service snd knowledgeable staff. Key points: -tighter quality control to ensure the proper maintenance of these trailers between customers -better training for staff at uhaul locations, if this isn't possible they should be encouraged to call uhaul company chat or phone line for guidance and instruction -I will not use uhaul again to rent a truck or trailer based mostly on safetyGeorge B.

The 17th Street location was great, however the fact that they had to save me from a booking error drove my overall experience down. Let me explain I booked a truck 2 months ago from another location on 17th Street called rumis boutique, the Reservation was accepted and I was told a truck would be available. On pickup day I went to pickup the reserved truck they told me they they no longer do U-Haul reservations and don't have a truck for me. I wish U-haul would have informed me that the place I set my reservation had stopped doing U-Haul. So in the end 5 stars for 17th Street for getting me out of a predicament however 1 star for U-Haul for dealing with the situation poorly and either asking me to pay more for the truck rental as it would be from a farther location and offering no assistance in the situation.Tyler W.
You should fullfil the customer request not an alternative. I requested a 10' one-way NOT 15' same location return. I told your customer service agent that I DO NOT want a 2 way return. I am extremely dissatisfied and it's a waste of my valuable time. This is so disappointing. We received a truck that should not have been driven. Once we left the facility we immediately noticed many of the problems - initially being how filthy muddy the cabin was and a constant whistle through the drivers side door. Most of the panels inside the bed were snapped off so nothing could be tied down and too was not cleaned. Since we had to take the truck from Alberta to Colorado we went back to the facility about the state of the truck and were told "We could duct tape the drivers side door shut for you, but you will have to enter and exit through the passenger side. That is the best we could do for you as we do not have another truck." We reserved the truck more than a month before our move, so I find this response unacceptable and frankly unsafe. After keeping the truck overnight to load the next morning we noticed an oil leak which also proved to be a problem because halfway through our trip the check engine light came on and we had to fill it with many quarts of oil multiple times! We paid for the additional insurance on the truck after seeing the state it was in, but I am really disappointed in the truck we were given and may never use Uhaul again for our next move!William E.

The truck I had received was dirty it even had a dirty glove from a child from the trip before me. I spook with the worker that was there he blaimed the day before staff. Since it was Ã§losing time. To call uhaul on 17 st was almost impossible to get through to customer service. There were times it took me 3 days to get through to them just to make a storage payment. When you did get through I would be put on hold and no one came back to answer the phone. Chane the GM would never reply to my emails I sent to him to make a storage payment or call me as I would leave my phone number for him to call me so I could make a payment. Am per was stolen from the uhaul site. Luckily it was found. We keep our site paid for yet the facility allowed someone else to put there stuff In our site. We checked twice and we would not have been able to park our camper. After notified them it was stolen no one called to see if everything was okay and if they could do anything. Answer yeas call check in with your customer help get video footage together offer to load in onto a Zip drive. When I spoke to mama her he said they(police) did not have a Zip drive to download footage. To me get dates and download it for the customer and police. This to me is customer service. I know If I was the manager I would have got a Zip drive for customer and police. My unit was broken into and had property stolen. Was told the employees do a yard check twice a week but didn’t notice when my unit was broken into for weeks. The security footage showed nothing because the manager said it must have happened prior to the last day on the footage (30 days). When I came to close my unit, Edmonton police were there and in discussion they revealed that theft from the property is a common experience and that this location has the highest frequency of theft related calls. Even though staff tried and were somewhat helpful, nothing could be done regarding my lost property or compensation because of the incompetence of security that has been in place. I will never use again nor will I suggest anyone to use uhaul storage for anything important or of significant value. I asked for a refund to at least cover some of the lost property but all I was offered was a credit to continue using the unit. Why would I continue using the unit if uhaul couldn’t give me peace of mind to start with.ron h. | Overall Experience

Locker is constructed such that mice can easily enter, and they pooped and peed and chew everything. I recently called and was left on hold, told agent. Asked for manager, he said he was manager and was busy. I emailed customer service in USA. Manager said complaints are bounced back to him. On site washroom filthy, dishwashing soap only soap available (do they know there is a pandemic), no paper towel holder, floor filthy, no garbage bin. I called U Haul about 4 years ago when I used 149 Street site. Told agent I was double charged. She said she would get back to me. Hasn't called yet. I moved out May 16, 2020 after telling local Pock-It Storage about the dirty U-Haul facility. Pock-It matched price and upgraded me to climate-controlled unit at no extra cost. During my check out process, agent at local U-Haul interrupted me 3 times during a one-minute conversation. Obviously no customer training. I got my receipt, thanked him and left. I was lied to about the unit being lit. The latches don't line up properly and I could not open the unit by myself:( I left repeated messages for the manager to call me, which he says he never received :( Once I spoke to him, he was very helpful and accodating:) Payment was requested 17 days after I moved out by staff. In speaking with him that day he said he would make a note. Payment was request again 19 days after move out by email. I have an ongoing issue with the rental truck location that is still unresolved:) No I would not recommend your company even after decades of loyalty to you. Move in day, I couldn’t close the door to the unit. I looked to see if there was anything in the way of the door (my stuff on the inside) but there wasn’t. Turns out the tracks the door closes on, we’re full of ice. Nobody had cleaned the unit or made sure the unit would be move in ready clearly. I’m sure this isn’t the first time this has happened. I’m sure it won’t be the last. It was late and it was also the coldest day of the year. I just wanted to get out of there so when we finally got the door closed, I just wanted to go home, warm up, and sleep. I ended up going back to the unit a couple times and every time I went, the unit was VERY difficult to open. We had to use a crowbar to open and shut the latch. Or it wouldn’t open. That amount of force and pressure was frustrating and def avoidable if the people maintaining the units, cleaned out the tracks before someone moves in. I mentioned something the second last time I went to the facility because it is so time consuming just to open and close the door. The man was great with me even tho I was extremely upset. He mentioned he would tell his manager but I don’t know if anything happened. My unit also had a light but no light switch or pull string.
