William W.Website allowed me to book a truck, stating that it was available. I had gotten the confirmation email, and it was all set up. I had tried all the smaller trucks, but couldn't rent them as they were not available, so I was forced to go with a 26'. That's fine, I went with what I could get, and at least it was only 2 km away from me, so in all I would only be traveling 20 km total, getting me to an estimated price of 70$. One hour before I'm scheduled to pick up the truck, I got a call saying that it was unavailable, and that my reservation was being pushed by two hours, and I now had to travel 20 km one way just to get the truck. The apartment that I was moving into only gave me a small window to move all my things, and if I didn't do it in this window, I'd owe them another 100$. Thankfully, we got it complete, but my scheduled, and confirmed reservation just added more stress to an already stressful day. On top of that, we were traveling more km with it now, and what would've been 70$ now came up to 150$. This is ridiculous and a joke. The lady was uncaring, rude, and snarky. And the truck came dirty, and trashed. This was a complete joke, we got the move done, but after almost 100$ more dollars, and more added grey hairs than necessary. Ridiculous.
Brad V.The truck and dolly I reserved over a month prior were not available, so I got downgraded from a 26 foot truck to a 20 foot, which caused me to need a second trip for just a few pieces of furniture, costing me 60 extra kilometers on my trip. And I had to go rent a furniture dolly for more money last minute from a different company.

When I picked up the truck 9.00 am in the morning, I told the lady please get the store unit unlocked, she said yes I will. When I reached at site at around 3.00 pm with loaded truck, the unit was locked, I went to customer service requested to unlock the unit, she said she can not do any thing. When reminded that I requested this morning, she told me I have not told her this morning and it was plain lie. I have to wait almost 1/2 hour to get the unit unlocked and another 45 minutes to return the truck.

Got a call Sunday evening telling m I couldn't get truck until 1 pm but we had booked service elevator at apartment for 11 am based on 10 am pickup I selected. New pickup location was quite far from apartment and even though I asked lady on Sunday evening if new pickup location would have my dollies (she said of course), the new location had no dollies. So now I have to wait until they can find another location with dollies and then I drive there to get my dollies. I got lost going there and now all this extra mileage and guess what I'm charged over mileage. All in all horrible customer service..

Told me to take a picture and they would give me a gas credit when I came back. They didn't. The mileage was off by 13 miles. Said they would give me a better rate but it was marginal. Charged my credit card$75 and it only came to $54 and didn't give me the difference. Would not recommend.

The text message sent in the being didn't even work and didn't know what was sent until the young man told me what it was. I have to say this rental was a little disappointing but will return to this location because the customer service provided by the two young men.

The nice young lady at the front desk called around and tried to accommodate us however there were no other UHaul units in Edmonton. We were able to get a 10x10 (free for the inconvenience) for the month but our furniture will not fit into it as it is now full of boxes only. The young lady did give us a free month and we wait till a 10x15 becomes available. Unfortunately that will require a large part of one day to move everything again when that happens. So an unexpected hitch in our move.

No windshield washer fluid in the truck. The rental company provided thru U-Haul made a mess of most of our furniture as well. Basically every large piece of furniture we have had been damaged in some way. I will be filing a complaint with uhaul for sure and hopefully something can be done about our damaged furniture

Tyrone U.I rented two trucks within 1 week. The cab of the first truck had a very dirty cab with chocolate milk and another substance splashed on the inside of the windshield. The cargo area was covered in silicone strips, pieces of wood and screws from someone's renovation. The second truck had a relatively clean cab but the cargo area had broken glass and moving blankets in it. When I returned the first truck, the representative was helpful and seemed concerned by the state of the truck.

When you did get through I would be put on hold and no one came back to answer the phone. Chane the GM would never reply to my emails I sent to him to make a storage payment or call me as I would leave my phone number for him to call me so I could make a payment. The phone situation needs to be looked at.

We checked twice and we would not have been able to park our camper. After notified them it was stolen no one called to see if everything was okay and if they could do anything. Answer yeas call check in with your customer help get video footage together offer to load in onto a Zip drive. When I spoke to mama her he said they(police) did not have a Zip drive to download footage. To me get dates and download it for the customer and police. This to me is customer service. I know If I was the manager I would have got a Zip drive for customer and police. Have rented before in other cities from uhaul and they were awesome unfortunately this has left a bad taste in mouth.

As we waited for the employee to come open up our unit we started to unload the trailer. After 30 minutes of waiting and having most of the trailer unpacked we than were told we had to be moved. As there is usually only one staff person at any given time (at least when I was there) the service can be slow if they are serving another customer but the staff were always friendly.

Carolyn P. | Overall ExperienceMy unit was broken into and had property stolen. Was told the employees do a yard check twice a week but didn’t notice when my unit was broken into for weeks. The security footage showed nothing because the manager said it must have happened prior to the last day on the footage (30 days). When I came to close my unit, Edmonton police were there and in discussion they revealed that theft from the property is a common experience and that this location has the highest frequency of theft related calls. Even though staff tried and were somewhat helpful, nothing could be done regarding my lost property or compensation because of the incompetence of security that has been in place. I will never use again nor will I suggest anyone to use uhaul storage for anything important or of significant value. I asked for a refund to at least cover some of the lost property but all I was offered was a credit to continue using the unit. Why would I continue using the unit if uhaul couldn’t give me peace of mind to start with.

Asked for manager, he said he was manager and was busy. I emailed customer service in USA. Manager said complaints are bounced back to him. On site washroom filthy, dishwashing soap only soap available (do they know there is a pandemic), no paper towel holder, floor filthy, no garbage bin. I called U Haul about 4 years ago when I used 149 Street site. Told agent I was double charged. She said she would get back to me. Hasn't called yet. I moved out May 16, 2020 after telling local Pock-It Storage about the dirty U-Haul facility. Pock-It matched price and upgraded me to climate-controlled unit at no extra cost. During my check out process, agent at local U-Haul interrupted me 3 times during a one-minute conversation. Obviously no customer training. I got my receipt, thanked him and left. You just lost 100 customers. All the best.

The latches don't line up properly and I could not open the unit by myself:( I left repeated messages for the manager to call me, which he says he never received :( Once I spoke to him, he was very helpful and accodating:) Payment was requested 17 days after I moved out by staff. In speaking with him that day he said he would make a note. Payment was request again 19 days after move out by email. I have an ongoing issue with the rental truck location that is still unresolved:) No I would not recommend your company even after decades of loyalty to you. Aimee D. | First ImpressionsMove in day, I couldn’t close the door to the unit. I looked to see if there was anything in the way of the door (my stuff on the inside) but there wasn’t. Turns out the tracks the door closes on, we’re full of ice. Nobody had cleaned the unit or made sure the unit would be move in ready clearly. I’m sure this isn’t the first time this has happened. I’m sure it won’t be the last. It was late and it was also the coldest day of the year. I just wanted to get out of there so when we finally got the door closed, I just wanted to go home, warm up, and sleep. I ended up going back to the unit a couple times and every time I went, the unit was VERY difficult to open. We had to use a crowbar to open and shut the latch. Or it wouldn’t open. That amount of force and pressure was frustrating and def avoidable if the people maintaining the units, cleaned out the tracks before someone moves in. I mentioned something the second last time I went to the facility because it is so time consuming just to open and close the door. The man was great with me even tho I was extremely upset. He mentioned he would tell his manager but I don’t know if anything happened. My unit also had a light but no light switch or pull string. No way to access the light bulb to change it unless I brought a ladder.
