Honest mistake I'm sure, the gentleman was quite helpful, personable & professional. He attached the trailer to my truck & checked the lights etc. I drive a short distance & felt an uncomfortable movement from the trailer. I pulled over & found the hitch was so loose on the ball, it had actually popped up & off, the safety chains only keeping it from hitting the ground. I was able to lift the front of the trailer & set it down on the ball. Seems it had not been made tight prior to me leaving the yard. Obviously we are all human, so I understand errors. I bring this up mostly to remind something so simple could have caused a major issue had I not noticed this prior to loading the car trailer.

I would like them to reconsider,apparently I didn't get a storage place on time on the same day so I tried to return uhaul within that hour and expected at least half off the rental or a discount or 20% of your next hire ,but nothing if that nature happened, I was simply told once it leaves the premises you are liable to pay and there's no refund ,understandable, although a kind gesture of -I know we made money even though you didn't use it but sorry no future discount whatsoever:very disappointed ??

I made a reservation on 8/18/2017; I made an appointment for an inspection and on 8/22/2017,?the El Camino Uhaul wired and installed the unit to haul a trailer, and they caused my left brake light and blinker to stop working; I had to make another appointment and went to the Auburn location to fix the problem; and the brake light and blinkers stopped working again (the brake lights and blinker always worked well until UHAUL touched it); so on the day of pick up to hook trailer up 9/2/2017, at Stockton location, the hitch that UHAUL installed had a malfunction and therefore caused an delay on my trip, the Stockton location could not attend to my truck until the next 9/3/2017, which was my departure date at 6am, the Stockton location finished the re-wire at 12 noon; this cause a delay and hardship for me with my movers all around on both ends, from Sacramento,CA to Nampa,?ID. I do expect UHAUL to fix my brake light and blinker ASAP and apply huge discount on my rental.

Only problem I had was my online reservation said I had to have the trailer back for Wednesday. No time, just the day. I get a call from the drop off location the day before saying that the trailer is due back at 1:00 pm on the Wednesday. I work all day so i wasn't getting it back until the evening of the Wednesday. I was told i would be charged another day's rental. My two problems stem from the online booking portal not sharing enough information with me.

Both men whom I dealt with were helpful and had good attitudes. I was sick that day (not contagious) so that clouds some of my experience: the contract was a little kluge and incomplete, e.g. where I was to write down mileage and fuel (I think that's what was requested) simply had a hand-written "M/" & "F/". If they are always requested it seems odd that they're not printed on the contract.

Have the tools to put a owners hitch on their truck, not sell them one they didn't need what a bunch of crap. Then be told to be at uhaul the next day at 745am to drop off trailer, I'm a senior and wasn't told you just drop it off, I couldn't unhitch it if I tried. Get it together.

None, this was the best au-Haul service I have received. Truck was ready and when I dropped the truck off I was treated immediately. Even tho this U-Haul was 10 miles from my house and there are closer U-Haul facilities, I will be back, so I start about $20 in the hole before I get started it is worth the top shelf service I received.

Ordered a trailer to pick up in Dixon, Ca. They had it ready 40 miles away in an inconvenient location. The person I spoke with when I found out didn't seem like she cared when I told her how inconvenient this was. Don't know if I'll rent from Uhaul again.

The only issue I had was having all of my personal information read out loud with several other customers in the store. This should not be done as it is able to be verified on the terminal screen by the customer without having it broadcasted out loud so everyone can hear.

It was very slow service only one person working on a Saturday and both men weren't friendly. I wasn't greeted while the other people were. Made me feel as though they were racist. I wasn't treated like the other patrons in front of me. They were both very short and dry. Will never go to this location again. Try hiring people that are friendly to all races. These two men one in the morning and one in the afternoon weren't very friendly at all. Almost grumpy to an extent.

Trucks should have a full tank not half. Had to get gas immediately, would rather have taken off right away. And if you fill up to much you lose money. I'd prefer it come with a full tank and returned with a full tank if not charge for going gas rate. Instead of making two stops.

Everything was clean, except they allow smoking in the trucks & it wreaked of cigarette smoke. This is very gross for non-smokers & people allergic to cigarette smoke, like me. All trucks should be non-smoking.

I would never recommend this U-Haul location to anyone. The service from Derek Van Tassel, was the worst I have ever experienced. Cut my reservation in half from 7 hrs to 3.5 and almost cancelled my order altogether because of a double booking on their end. So dismissive and rude. No alternative offered besides that I could pick up from across town at another location. I was even threatened with being charged the entire moving cost for the family picking up after me, if I got the truck back late. Beyond stressful!!!

I think the fuel tanks should be on full when customers pick up a truck. The one I picked up was on 3/4 but I filled it because I think it's only the right thing to do.

Were originally supposed to pick in Woodland 15 miles from us but car hauler was rented to someone else even though reserved in our name. Had to go to Sacramento 30 miles away in the middle of trying to move. Very dissatisfied

The trailer was dirty when I rented it the tires had mud all the way around them they checked the brake lights and blinkers they were fine when I left however I did not have parking lights I found that out later at night when there was no lights on the trailer so I called the 1-800 number and was informed that I would either have to drive it to another County to get it fixed or wait for a serviceman to come look at it and was informed that if it was my fault my vehicle that I would be charge for that service so I come to find out that the reason my parking lights are not working on the trailer was because I did not have a fuse in the slot on my vehicle this should have been addressed and inspected before I left the U-Haul company so had I had a serviceman come out they would have charged me to repair the fuse in my vehicle billed me for it and again it was because it was never inspected at the U-Haul place when I rented the trailer

The person renting out the unite was the slowest person I've ever spoke with It took him over 1 hour to help 1 customer I ended up being there for almost 3 hours just because the store manger couldn't figure out to have a couple guys work that day I will never tell anyone to visit that location ever

Quit charging for mileage, it's misleading, give one flat fee and be done with it even if it means raising prices a bit. Second, the truck was banged up and not everything was marked so be more careful to mark everything.

Accessing the driveway is horrible. When I approach the location on 47th Avenue and turn right onto Stockton Blvd., in a 26' truck, I had to go down the street quite a ways in order to do a u-turn so I could come back and turn into the location. That was absurd. This location was understaffed when I picked up the truck and when I dropped off, and that is poor customer service when I have to wait over 15 minutes to be helped.

Terrible! I had to wait while they trained a new person. They didn't seem to care that I had to wait. The supervisor kept wandering off. The new person said it was a 24 hour rental. When I went to return it after 6 hours they wanted to charge me for another day. When I told the man behind the counter that it was supposed to be 24 hours he said my contract said 4 hours. What made it worse is the guy started to quote me statistics about the average time it takes to move. I was mad and told him I wasn't going to pay it. So, I rented a 15' truck for 6 hours and it cost me $150! I drove it 74 miles and brought it back 3/4 full. That's ridicules. U-Haul really doesn't care about the customers. What really sucks is I actually paid to have the truck cleaned because when I went to use the inside, it was too dirty for the office furniture I wanted to move, so I paid $80 to clean the inside. There was black toner/ink in the cargo bay and on the walls according to Justin's Car Wash in Roseville. Unfortunately, I didn't inspect the inside of the truck before I checked it out. The truck was spotless when I returned it!

Not enough help. One guy to run the whole show was poor scheduling. We got a truck no one had time to even check in and he had a line of 10 people to receive drop offs and get people rentals. Took 40 minutes but he was very friendly and did his best.

Have more than one person helping customers when the lead guy is already occupied with helping another customer. If someone is available, don't make the guy who's already busy tend a waiting customer as soon as he can.

Brought U-Haul back at the same level of fuel but because the first uhaul employee from my departing location was too lazy to sit in the car to check the fuel gauge it was slighty below where it was marked. The employee checking me in blamed me for not going back and getting it altered by an 8th of an inch. After explaining and showing him my gas receipt showing I just filled it up minutes ago your employee STILL charged me for $7+ for missing fuel on a $550+ rental. Literally the worst customer service ever at this location.

My uhaul experience on Thursday, Oct 13th, was absolutely horrible! I made a reservation to pick up a 9' Cargo Van at 12pm at 9005 Elk Grove Florin RD in Elk Grove,CA, I even checked in online at 8am. I drove from South Lake Tahoe and got to the location at 12pm on the dot! Nobody was even there, they were out to lunch. So I called customer service, I was telling the customer rep what was going on and then I hear a click! She had hung up on me! So I called back again, the same thing happens! TWICE I was hung up on. I called back a 3rd time and just demanded to speak directly to a manager. The manager helped me find another location that was sadly 20mins out of my way, but I had no choice, I had an event for work to get it. He assured me I would receiving a $50 guarantee from the other location, but then I received an email from the area manager, Robert Klahr, telling me that my situation didn't qualify for a $50 guarantee. So what exactly does qualify then? I want to know you put a pick up time for noon and the place isn't even open? Why do you have unprofessional rude customer service reps answering calls for your customer's? Look at my account with Uhaul, you will see that I spent over $1,500 this year alone on your truck, trailer, and vans!!! I will not be doing business with a company that doesn't take care of their customers! Retrain your employees and your area field manager!

We had to go to a second location to get the truck. I told the operator that 104 miles was not enough to get the load, get to the destination and r deliver the truck. He assured me it was. I got charged for 20 extra miles.

Derek was great even though he was told he could not extend our storage for free. The Ubox delivery truck was in the shop for two weeks.. We had to make other arrangements.

The measurements of the boxes online are misleading. These measurements are for the outside not the inside. Also include the 2x2 frame work inside as that will impede that packing process.

Second u-box furniture pads were partially wet, we just spread them in the sun and they were fine, staff were very helpful and courteous.
