I am disappointed in U-Haul in general. All the information I entered for the reservation I had to enter again at the desk. WHY ?!! Kudos to U-haul for having services in a disadvantaged neighborhood. On a bad note - I put too much gas/tried to do the right thing... there should however be some way for customers to avoid overdoing the refueling at the end - or a least a way to compensate or to be reimbursed.NICOLENIA B.

This location was way better than the Broadway location. After my reservation was cancelled at the 65th st location, a woman kicked me out of her location because I stated the process was unprofessional. Not directed towards her, because I literally just met her, but she took offense and would not allow any discussion, not even clarification. No words. She shut me down, kicked me out, and threatened me with notations on my account to prevent me from renting from other locations I assumed, since why threaten someone. It was my first time renting, and there was no heated exchange, just escalation by her, and refusal to gain information, just irrational behavior and malicious threats. I usually cuss in general, but I was more confused by her behavior, perhaps lacking the tools to communicate properly. Regardless, avoid the Broadway location, for they truly are unprofessional. Anyways, situation was fixed, although I had to pay more in mileage and lost time due to rush hour traffic, which is the point of renting in locations away from certain times. I know I'm expecting too much during a pandemic, but courtesy should always be a frontrunner in any interactions.STEVEN B.

Staff was accusatory and rude. There was a small piece of the sidewall of a tire missing that we stated we saw at pick up. We caused no damage to the truck personally. They said that we were wrong because they always check the tires before renting out. I feel like this was missed seeing as the truck was dirty when we picked it up as well. We now have to pay almost $500 because of someone else's negligence and the disbelief from the staff at the location. I paid for the normal level of insurance which apparent doesn't cover much of anything if at all. I will not be using U-haul againchristopher L.

I made a reservation for a pick-up truck and no truck was available. I was given a van that didn't fit my needs, but managed. My son who helped me has Glaucoma and smokes Marijuana for his condition. He did not smoke at anytime in the rental. On return of the rental, your Representative on inspection smelled Marijuana and said that she was going to charge me a $25 cleaning fee that I didn't think was necessary. She also accused me of transporting Marijuana. I did not appreciate her making accusations. I did not agree with the $25 cleaning fee since there should be some kind of Covid Disinfectant Procedures in place that would have eliminated the odor before and after vehicle rental. Your Rep. could use a little more Customer Service Training. I have a Storage Unit with U-Haul and have rented vehicles from U-Haul and have never been treated in a disrespected manner. I will never rent anything again from the Stockton Blvd / Florin Rd. location again.David E.

Customer service at this location is awesome. There are some experience and training issues, just as there are in any organization. I attempted to make a reservation for an auto trailer, but the webpage was not easy to use. Our travel dates did not mature until a day ago, but I did buy some stuff to make the lights on the trailer work. When the box came there was 3 times as much as I had put on the final order. I tried to zero some of the items out, but the webpage would not let me. I brought the box back to the store. The manager figured it out after much puzzling over it. We finally decided to ship the car rather than tow it, so we returned all of the stuff that the webpage automatically added to the order.Cheryl S.

I cannot say enough good things about Betty and the Staff at the 47th and Stockton Location. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM is remarkable. They are friendly, helpful, accommodating, professional. When I moved my parents from LA, Betty had the largest storage unit with the best prices, I was happy to rent from her. I have had my unit for two years and every interaction with the Staff strengthens my opinion of them. I would drive from across town to purchase items from them. Sadly they don't have a car dolly or I would cancel my reservation with the Citrus Heights location and rent it from 47th. There was also a gentleman who was in training working that day, and he had us fooled. I'm very dissatisfied because when I rented the uhaul it was near the location I needed. Someone stole the converter and they moved my reservation to a lactation 20 miles further out. It ended up costing me an additional $40 for circumstances imposed by your business.Mike V.

The system here had confusing policies, around how they accepted payment (no debit cards or cash?) and required verifying a second person for the rental, and one of the staff members was not sure how to do 90% of the tasks required. My truck bed was very dirty. More training and clearer policies are necessary at this location.MICHAELA P.

When I brought the trailer back my son went in the office. I waited 15 minutes outside finally I disconnected the trailer myself. Everybody that I talk to says U-Haul only has one or two people working so they go two other places cause they have To waitRONALD P.
When I went to fill up gas before returning it, the gas gauge wouldn't move and i ended up putting $80 in the gas tank when it should've been $20. You should inform customers that the gas gauge takes a while to move or just hire a mechanic and fix it.MOHAMED U.

My comment is more about the corporate system than about the location. 1. The system allowed me to reserve a trailer at locations that did not have them. 2. I then received a phone call asking if I would pick up from a second location. I agreed, and received email confirmation of the new location, but the reservation was not changed to the new location. 3. Several missed phone calls provided only instructions to phone and sit on hold for lengthy periods, not what the issue was. 4. I went on line and cancelled the first reservation and reserved from a third location only to learn apparently the second location has all the trailers. 5. On line I cancelled the second reservation and made a third reservation for the indicated location. (This all would have been avoided if the web site indicated NOT AVAILABLE THIS LOCATION.) It was confirmed and I fortunately printed it out. That was 9AM. 6. By 4PM that reservation WAS WITHDRAWN BY UHAUL and a 4th reservation of the same number but a different day and rental period replaced it. There was NEVER any contact with me and NEVER any indication of a rental period other than the one period I had submitted three different times. 7. Following a half hour hold I spoke with a live person who cancelled reservation 4 and issued reservation 5 #20544018 for the date and time (almost since I wanted a 12 hour reservation and she could only do a 10 hour period) entered on all three requests. 8. The pickup and return aspects of the rental went smoothly. 9. I will try every other available rental before using uhaul in the future.ROGER H.

When we went to pickup the rental at the Elk Grove Florin location we were informed that the pickup truck had not be returned and that our reservation had been moved to 47th Ave and Stockton Blvd location. When we arrived there, there was a long line and you can hear the conversation the manager was having with each customer. The interaction was the same for everyone but us "the African American couple." We were the only people of color there. When we decline the insurance, like others ahead of us did. The manager asks us for proof of insurance. She did not ask the other customers for proof of insurance. She informed them that declining the insurance would make them fully responsible for any repairs if the vehicle was damaged, but with us she ask us to show her proof of automobile insurance. I ask her why we need to show proof when no one else was ask. She stated they we where renting different equipment. I rented a pickup truck a week ago at a different location and we did not have to show proof insurance Everybody was renting and everybody declined the insurance. Yet we were the only people ask to show proof of insurance. We are remodeling our home and needed the truck to pickup supplies from Home Depot, if it wasn't for that fact I would not have submitted to an obvious racial discrimination I will not rent from that location again and I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.Yolanda A.

I gave my credit card info at the time of rental and then I get a notice in my email 3 days later that if I don't pay right away I will also owe a $30 late fee. I don't know why I wasn't automatically charged when I returned the equipment and checked in at the store. I have never experienced this before on any rentals from U-Haul.
