I didn't even drive five miles in the vehicle. The gas gauge was a quarter tank and barely moved. Charging $8.50 plus a $30 fuel fee is absurd!! That's almost $90 to use a vehicle for 5 hours and not even go 5 miles.Jason T.

We had rented for a one way use and the drop off location was further away from where we have dropped off before.They Said they would leave it open so we could use the one if our choosing but we opened returning trailer app it said that we were supposed to return to where we rented at.Had to call 800 number to get straightened out.John R.

Did a online self serve pickup, got there they had given my truck to someone else. Ok cool, the machines/computers wouldn't process until the 3rd attempt at restarting.. everything was fine, I returned the truck at 4:15, was told they'd email me a receipt. Next day still no receipt, so i called the location spoke w/ Shelby @2:30p she says they have 24hrs to get the truck turned in bc the day rate to rent the truck is 19.95 but on my receipt says return by 8pm (same day rented) or you'll be charged a late fee of $20 which is it? Bc if thts the case I'd definitely like to get my money worth next timeBRIANNE B.
The only thing I seen as an issue is we reserved a 26ft truck and was automatically given at 20ft because there were no 26ft ones available. The truck was not big enough resulting in our family having to make a second trip from Oklahoma to Missouri to finish moving our belongings. Everything else was great.DEMARCUS D.

When I arrived to pick up my rental I was asked for an alternative phone number, I gave my fathers phone number and was forced to pay a previous bill in his name or told I wouldn't be able to get the rental. It was urgent and I knew I wouldn't be able to get another rental short notice and had no choice but to pay. I am not legally responsible for my father's debt. It was something I was unaware of and completely unrelated to me needing a rental to be out of my house that day or be forced to pay additional fees to my landlord. I feel taken advantage of and if that is the way uhaul handles their paying customers I will plan to use a different company going forward.Kristian M.

I wanted to return 4 moving boxes, 1 bubble wrap not used. I was not told to maintain the paper receipt when I picked up the packing materials from Houston location. I tried to pull the order which was part of one transaction -truck reservation, labor, and supplies. As more customers showed up, the staff member decided to accept the goods for return. Reservation was incorrect and I did not receive a confirmation email so I did not know it was wrong until I arrived. Manager is abrasive and argumentative. Second time this month my reservation was wrong on rental.Christopher R.
The truck was old with 157,000 miles on it but drove okay. Definite wear and tear on the inside and an un-repaired dent on the hood and flaking paint. I thought I was picking up at one location and was then sent to another location. Thank goodness it wasn't too far away (probably cost me another $10 in mileage though).KIM S.

I was told if i returned the truck at a quarters of a tank- I wouldn't be charged. I was charged $71. I will never use uhaul again. The truck was dirty. And i was charged for two days, I had the truck for 14 hours.JAMIE B.

This location was excellent and extremely helpful but unfortunately the actual rental reservation was completely messed up. Trying to pick up our vehicle was a nightmare. My reservation said it was supposed to be at this location but then when the reservation was actually pulled up it had it elsewhere. If it hadn't been for an extremely helpful associate at this location we would not have ended up with a rental.Candy C.

Make sure you contact them first. I went to the reserved location the day before my rental to make sure everything was ok and to pick up supplies, that location didn't have reservation but he called and found out it was not his facility instead it was reserved at the 51st location.Sandra R.

Keep the truck near instead of 2 blocks away! There was no one to bring the truck near the main store entrance even after requesting to do so! Had to walk back and forth to look for the truck and then back again to get the keys after checking in from the phone!Deep G.
I went to the U-Haul location at 3500 S Sheridan where they were supposed to have a Truck waiting for me to rent. When I arrived there they knew nothing about my reservation and they seemed very uninterested in helping me. So I drove over to the 51st and 169 location and they were very helpful, very professional and had me fixed up with a truck in just a few minutes.WILLIAM K.

As far as the staff, they were super friendly and helpful. Other than that, I was highly disappointed with the facility. First, I had the climate controlled units (a total of 5). I've been in a few times and noticed the temperature in there to be very hot for being climate controlled. My dad and I started to move my stuff out on Friday, June 18, and it was around 90 in the area where my units were located. It was nicer to work outside with the breeze than work inside. I've had UHaul storage places in Texas that the climate controlled units were kept around 75-78, so it was nice to move in and out. So the biggest complaint is the climate controlled units are not worth the money here. If I need more, I'll go elsewhere. Secondly, at one point, the automatic opening doors stopped working at one point, so myself, my dad, and 2 ladies got locked in. I tried calling the office, but got voicemail. We almost went out the fire exit because we were all getting really hot and couldn't get in touch with anyone to let us out. Eventually my dad was able to get it opened. If I was looking for an outdoor unit, I might come back here, but I won't ever be back for climate controlled. It was a waste of money and time. I wouldn't recommend using this location. I would rather have my storage experience be more about what I pay for (my storage units) than friendly staff.Stephen D. | Overall Experience

But if my unit had been located inside rather than outside, it would have been extremely inconvenient to not be able to get into my unit after 10pm. The broken water pipe and the way it was handled was a main reason to move out. I realize U-Haul did not deliberately cause the problem but trashing my goods with no consideration for the loss was not good. At least I was given a replacement lock for the one cut off when I couldn't make a 700 mile trip in the time allocated to clean/empty my bin. Uninterested staff every time I went into the office, unfriendly and quite friendly appeared to hate their job. Always busy and never enough staff- waiting often with too many people not distancing nor wearing masks- staff wearing theirs in their chin or not at all. Everything has been great until we received this notice - we HAD NOT MOVED OUT. I cannot tell you how disconcerting it was to receive this notice. We were not sure if our belongings had been stolen or what was going on. It took three phone calls before they could even find our name in the system. Then one guy called us back and said it was a mistake and our stuff was still there. Of course we drove in from out of town ourselves to verify - thankfully the locks were in place and everything still there. I realize mistakes happen but these types cause a lot of stress.
