I have an issue with the new management on 6th avenue in Decatur she was very rude the manager that you had before was very nice and understanding I had some life-changing effects happened to me and she was able to help me out while I was getting on my new path in life she had to go on with her life and move on I talked to two other staff of yours and with that I end up with the new one that's a manager or the store manager of 6th avenue she's very rude do not have patience and it's really awful I have complained about her on the 1-800 number and I haven't heard anything backTameka H. | First Impressions

The connector to pump propane for vehicles has been broken forever, since at last year. I do business at this uhaul location frequently and though the staff can look kinda scruffy at times, they're all nothing but professional, helpful & friendly. Picking up at this location was a breeze! Loved it!!! However, we ended up at this location after an extremely difficult experience trying to pick up at a different remote location on Old Moulton Rd. Absolutely no one could help us with trying to get a code to pick the truck up there. No one by phone or in person. We waisted an entire morning trying to find help! We will NEVER try to use your remote pickup again!!! But, like I said to start with, the 6th Avenue location was awesome!!!! Great young lady that helped us get the rental truck and everything we needed.Faith C.

Return of the vehicle was quick and painless. I told the lady finalizing my total that I had received two bags of blankets, which were supposed to have six per bag. Bear in mind, I didn't open each bag and count them before leaving. I told her upon finishing the move, I counted and there were only 11. She was great about it though, and simply said, "Don't worry. That happens sometimes." Again, this was a mistake made by the location where I picked up the truck earlier that morning.john G.

Only problem I had was truck vibrated bad going down the road like tires were out of blance.joe R.
The guy who checked us out said we could just drop the equipment off that night and be done. He didn't mention anything about how to check it in otherwise so we were charged an extra $20 for dropping off after hours. Our fault for not reading the paper he gave us, but we specifically asked what we needed to do and were only told to drop off the equipment. We have never been charged extra for a late drop off at any other location. Also when we arrived there was no one to be found in the building. After almost 10 minutes he finally came out to the desk. Someone came in and thought my husband worked there because he was alone in the room. This apparently is a common occurrence: when I was telling someone else about it, they immediately knew which location we were talking about and said the same thing happened to them. We probably should have gone back to the first UHaul place we used, but this one was closest. We will know better for next time.Zach M.

I needed to return the trailer to a different location than the one I had scheduled. After calling three different numbers (because UHaul makes it unclear which number to call when you need to make a change), the person who answered my call did not know to tell me that I could go to the new location and find out if it was possible and if there was any charge. She just kept saying there was no way for her to tell me if there would be any charge (which is technically true, but unhelpful to me. She should have been told to say "Go the the location that you want to return the trailer to, and they can help you"GERALD C.

The man, Dreghe or something, an Irishman. Was the absolute worst experience I've ever had. while we were checking out he first tried to hit on my girlfriend, which freaked her out so she got up and walked off and I took over the process. He then proceeded to tell me that he doesn't agree with transgender people and that he believed a man and a woman should be together and on and on, until finally his coworker (a strong voiced African American woman) stepped in and told him he was being inappropriate. I can't thank her enough for her voice, as I was just sitting there in complete disbelief.Kasey V.

This has been a total fiasco. I have had to file a dispute with uhaul, which took 2 hours on the phone, and I still had my credit card charged for extras that were not applicable. Now disputing it with credit card company. A complete failure across-the-board in terms of customer service and could not recommend to anyone.Michael S.
I came in there yesterday at the Decatur 6th Ave location with my mother and the guy his name is Kyle D called my mom fat and then before he says it he's like I hope this doesn't offend you like he knew that he was going to offend my mother and still said it. Same day verification of references before you can get the truck is a headache, especially if you are picking up from the app at 4 in the am. This should be done well before the reservation date. Also, returning truck instructions should be sent with reservations not just the address but a guide.Dorell L.

My original reservation was with the Tuscaloosa Alabama store on Skyline Drive. I made the reservation about 6 weeks in advance for a 6 x 12 trailer. Two days before I received a notification that Skyline Drive did not have my rental, but one was available at Bolger Alabama 38 miles away, south of Tuscaloosa. I was coming in from North Alabama. This was totally unacceptable. I then called the reservation line and the call kept being dropped. Again, totally unacceptable. I cancelled my reservation and recreated it going to the 6th Ave Store. With my schedule on Friday and having to meet my expected arrival date in Tuscaloosa, U-Haul's in ability to keep a reservation costed me an extra day's rental. I am EXTREMELY unhappy with this. U-Haul could make this right with me by refusing 24 of the 48 hours of the rental. That would make up for the extra gas I has to expend pulling the trailer the extra distance. On a positive note, the 6th Ave Store is my go to for local rentals, the staff is friendly and professional, equipment well maintained. I so far I have had a very good experience working with them.Tom B.

Of all the U-Haul stores I have contracted with over the last 6 months and in 3 states this store has had the BEST selection of vehicles, trailers and supplies. (packing, auto accessories) The storage unit was fine for a climate control while the others were regular units while I was transitioning and moving family. First of all, the personnel are wonderful people. I cannot say enough about my experience with them, especially Jerry! The inside of the storage area was clean. However outside the door where one has to move everything the drainage for run-off water left a lot of waste right in the area where you're pulling your stuff in. Generally speaking the staff was EXCELLENT, however, I did have one bad experience with a female worker concerning an error in billing. She could not give me an answer to the issue and said "she couldn't help me" in a less than desirable tone and demeanor. She also said that she would have the manager call me for further clarification and help that she could not provide but I was never contacted. The website said that the first month was free. When I got to the site and completed my check in, I was told that I wouldn’t receive the free month rent because I didn’t rent the truck from that site. I feel that I should have been informed about that.CHARLES H. | First Impressions
I was over charged and had to pay an extra day because the customer service that help me didn’t a activate my card for my 24 hour access. I called the after hours number to report in on why I had to keep the trailer and extra day because I couldn’t get in my unit. They told me I wouldn’t be charged because they was at fault but then the next day I was charged $80 extra bucks on my card I had to go into the office not once but twice to have them move empty trailers out of the way where they parked them in front of my unit. I was suppose to be about to get my uhaul at 2 am but wasn’t able to pick it up until 9 am. Throwing off all my schedule for them move. The whole thing using uhaul has been a nightmare Next time I will pay extra to get an istorage and Ryder truck. I was very disappointed on uhaul. When you went into the office or store on 6th ave. The customer service was very poor. I stood in the store over 15 mins with no one to be found and they was all seen out back smoking. This store needs new management or employees. Quite a bit more than I'm used to paying! Could NEVER get a hold of anyone by phone! Always on hold. Billing is bizarre...account online shows NO balance due but then assessed a late for not paying! "There was no balance due the 21st. You didn't have a balance until the 22nd. But you didn't pay it so there's a late fee." Well if NO balance is on account why would I pay? If there's a balance DUE the 22nd, then it should show that online from the 23rd of previous month until date due! Seriously?!
