I initially reserved a 5'x8' storage unit specifically so it would fit a 7' couch. Upon arrival, I was given a unit that was 5'x6'-6" and could not fit my couch. I had to explain to the staff that I was given a smaller unit than I had reserved and needed a larger one. He tried to charge me more but eventually gave me a unit at the price I was quoted. Throughout my time at the storage unit there were homeless people living in units, trash in the garage bays, and overall I was just uncomfortable there. My first time renting from u-haul was in 1995 when I got my first apartment in Sacramento. The last time before this was 5 years ago when we bought our first home. In between, I have moved maybe 7 times. This last experience was by far the worst I ever had. The general manager Kaylah was the rudest person I've done business with. She has 0 customer service skills and seems to believe that being general manager gives her the right to be sarcastic and rude. I thought about renting from a farther away location just because of her. But then I realized I would only be inconveniencing myself. I refuse to go into the entire interaction because it's possible no one even reads these surveys, they're just sent out to make the consumer believe that someone actually cares, when they don't. So I could be wasting my time. According to her business card, she has been a team member since 2020. So either she came in as manager or climbed to manager in 1 year. Quite impressive, actually. The person assisting me did not provide any details regarding emails I would be receiving related to the rental. When I paid my money she basically handed me a key and said the truck was outside, when I went outside I found multiple trucks I had to walk back in and asked somebody to please show me which one I was my rental. I roll down the windows before leave the facility because the truck hot drive but I was only five minutes down the road so we could load up. Once loaded I rolled up the windows of the truck and realized it was a strong smell of pot in side the cab. At that point I was trying to adjust the air conditioner and then found that there was no air conditioner the unit only blowed hot air. I ended up being stuck in a truck that had a strong smell of pot with no air for over two hours in the middle of summer. Between my two sisters, my daughter and I we've rented multiple U-Haul trucks for moves, I've never had this happen before. For the next move I may be looking into different sources of transportation as this was an overall terrible experience. Even with the windows down I ended up getting sick due to the extreme heat. What was also surprising was when I tried to do the online return one of the questions is â€œIs this truck ready to be rented to another customerâ€ My answer was no because of all the problems smelled like pot, no air-conditioning and I forgot to mention earlier when I looked in from the passenger side there was drips all down like the side of the consul which I didn't notice at first seeing as I had no passenger with me there was no one on that side to notice. Because I said no it shouldn't be immediately rent it to a customer your application was charging me $25. Because of that I had the back all the way up and put yes it was fine to rent to another customer so that I wouldn't be charged. I did alert the gentleman who was helping me return the vehicle via phone but truly your wording needs to be changed because that truck was not ready to just be run into another person if I didn't noticed all the drips I would've asked for something else because clearly it wasn't cleaned enough to be rented out or checked over due to the problems I encountered. No roof above unit, which allowed rats and bugs to get it, rat trap inside 10 x10 storage unit, bad oder, facility itself was an old dingy dirty old building, it used to be a bread making facility which brought bugs and rats, Lights didn't stay on, air conditioning was non existent, because the ceilings were wide open to old roof of the old building, air conditioning just escaped out, water stains inside the unit, we canceled our agreement with uhaul in less than thirty minutes of moving our belongings in, had to move all our stuff out and re load our truck, the uhaul tape i bought is the cheapest grade of tape, wish I could return it and buy some scotch or 3m packing tape, Extremely disappointed in uhaul Had high hopes,, but it was short livedMark C. | First Impressions

I wish I'd rented storage inits from uhaul to be begin with. I have units in a place w/very long walks down hallways & I am disabled; also w/very limited access hours. Everything is great @ uhaul...i should have known.! Kind, friendly, helpful staff, great drive-up access & good accessibility hours. Provide accurate prices when quoting customers online, my online reservation stated one due in store price but was actually $200 higher in store once taxes and fees were added. It would be more customer friendly if EVERYTHING was included in the quote so people can budget accordingly. Also when I made my online reservation I included all requested equipment and insurance yet the pick up location didn't have any of that information which made the process take longer. It would be nice if ALL information on the reservation was provided to the pick up location, but the customer service at the pickup location made up for these shortcomings.Janeen G.

Well the staff in NV at pick up were nice. And the Staff @ the Arden Way facility were very nice. Now It took forever because U-hauls computers weren't excepting the input. The other problem is the price on line along with availability was dead wrong! Then asking me to drive 200miles to pick up the trailer was Not ok.
