Lot access is always a problem. It is a tough left across El Paseo or else I have to drive around the block. That is the only thing I hate about the location. The service has always been great.Stephen D.

The trailer wasn't clean and had a bad odor, but the guys were on it; they cleaned and mopped the trailer twice. It was probably clean weeks prior, but it had been parked where some bushes were overgrown and the pollen caused the problem. The employees at this location are really good guys. Had made a reservation in July for a 4’9’9 in climate control on the first floor. However when I arrived to get my storage unit. They had rented it out to someone else. So I got stuck with a smaller unit and no climate control on the second floor. With only stairs to get my stuff up there. And with being a female and having to move furniture and stuff by myself is a real inconvenience. The after-hours return system is a bit buggy. It took me considerably longer than it should have to get through the process. I had to start over several times because of errors related to the photos. I arrived 20 minutes before my return time, but it took me all of that time to get through the return process.Anthony D.

Upon pointing out the damage that had occurred to the side of my vehicle during towing, the crew in Las Cruces made quite a big ordeal out of telling me I could not leave the lot until they had me unload and reload my car onto the dolly insisting I was lucky to have even made it to NM from CA without dropping my car because it was not loaded properly in CA and that is what caused the damage, but my claim was denied. The storage room that I had reserved at this location online was rented out to someone else overnight even though I had made the effort to go by the lot the day before to ensure they actually had one available as stated on the website. Though I was repeatedly told I would be getting multiple days of discount by several employees, the manager reneged when I checked in charging me approx 250.00 more than his employees had quoted me just two days before. I would not recommend UHaul to a friend and especially in light of the willful damages to my furniture,the willful misloading of my belongings into the truck, the theft of personal items at the hands of a moving company referred to me by the company. Damages that UHaul also failed to take responsibility for with the exception of sending out another company to reload my truck and splitting the cost with me. A delay that cost me three days in being able to leave CA.ANDREA D.

It was upsetting that the store we dropped the trailer off at didn't have the before photos to reference when checking for damage. It turned out that there was a dent in the wheel well that we didn't notice when we picked it up and if we hadn't had the insurance we would have been charged for it because we had no proof that the damage wasn't caused by us.CAITLIN C.

First - No one would answer the phone when I called at 8:30 am. Second- the answering service said only wait 30 mins. Third -I drove to the U-Haul office and found three employees, all sitting next to telephones. One actually talking. Wait 30 mins for what? Fourth- I asked to rent a small trailer, there were four in plain sight. Was told they couldn't rent a trailer until the U-Haul executives in the sky allowed them to. Mentioned four trailers in the lot. All three could not see any trailers. Fifth- I was told the sky folks could take a hour to determine if I was worthy of renting a trailer. Wait for an e-mail from the sky folks. Sixed- I wasted a hour for e-mail clearance. Had to show three employees I actually had an e-mail. General Manager finally started paper work as I stood there watching. Now is this the best customer service your company can or is willing to provide? U-Haul needs a little competition. If there was another rental business in town they would have gotten my business. Very poor performance!GERALD V.

First off I do not know why you need to make an appointment when it takes 8 hours to do a 1 hour job, stay in contact with your customers. You can't contact the local office when you are trying to get information on your vehicle, your automatically sent to a customer service agent that can't even get you the information you need nor get you transferred to the local office for help. Office staff was rude when unhappiness was expressed. You would be better off doing the installation on your own for the price and time it took.Molly P.

Check out process was excellent, much praise ti employee that handled it. Check in process was HORRIBLE!!! I parked and unhooked trailer as it was a large trailer. Employee then approached and told me to rehook trailer by myself and drive it back to the front of the lot. He must have been training someone as he them to take pictures of the chains and accuse me of not rehooking them properly. He also said I must of damaged the trailer (something that was later confirmed was already existing wear in a very old trailer) Additionally, he never checked it in properly and as of result of that I got a call the next day asking why trailer was not returned. I was later told it was a computer error. The employee at check in did not wear a uniform and was very rude. If it was not offset ny the nice employee at check out, i would never rent from that location again. I cannot believe someone training a new worker would dress so poorly and belittle customers .IAN C.

I rented a U-Haul from Arizona to New Mexico and made a reservation for a storage unit. I arrived in New Mexico and the facility told me they where all booked and had no storage unit for me!!! They gave me a smaller unit the next day when I called customer service to complain. When I went to get the storage into they tried to charge me full price for it when I was supposed to receive a free month since I booked the truck and storage. I rented a storage unit which went fine. I had a van reserved for the next day. There was no van available when I showed up at the available time. I had to get a 17 ft truck instead. There was not much empathy for my inconvenience and I got the sorry but "we've been really busy." That is a service issue not a customer issue. I had submitted a reservation to have a storage unit. When I arrived, they found my reservation and had me pay in full only to find out the unit already had a lock on it. It was still reserved under my name and there were no other units available. I had moved out of my apartment that day and had no where to put my stuff. I am still getting email about “my” storage unit when I am not in the facility or paying any money. I mentioned that the website still lists multiple available units when I walked into the building however when I complained about the website being wrong was told it was not their fault. I checked it when I came back to the car and all the listings were now gone. There website should be updated for people with extenuating circumstances.
