VICTOR BYou (U-Haul) took my reservation for another location but didn’t ensure the location had a truck for me, found me another location (one of the lasts) that had the truck, but not the dolly that I also had on my order.

DENNIS BThe 2.5 years I had a unit there, I’ve never had any issues until the day of move out 11/14/2025. As I was leaving the premises the gate seemed narrow and I had to back out and because i was under the door gate it started coming down really fast which hit the top of my rack of my SUV and I tried to attempt to it again it seemed even faster so I backed up in time before gate door came down on hood of my SUV, this was a dangerous situation all around the facility manager needs to aware of this so no future damages or injuries will occur. I am going to get my roof of my rack looked at today to make sure there are no dents or damage. I hope they will fix this issue and maybe widen the gate because a trailer can barely get in and out of there. Make sure the Senor on the gate is fixed or give it longer time to move out of the area. Very dissatisfied for that experience.

LAURIE WI had an issue when returning the trailer the young lady who was helping me was having a hard time getting the trailer off the hitch. She stated to me that this was her first time doing it alone and said let me go get help. I told her I could try to help her lift it and she said no, we have to do it which she came out with a young man with her. His first comment to me was oh your husband wouldn’t get out of the truck and help which one it was not my husband. It was somebody I’d hired to help me unload the trailer. It was not their job to get it off the truck and I was very upset that he would even say this, I know he was probably just joking, but I took it as being very inappropriate
LISEN DDon’t remember his name but the gentleman that helped expedite the process was extremely nice and very helpful… I have rented several UHaul trucks in the past and by far this was the BEST experience hands down! The rental took place at the Woodlake location in Chesapeake,VA.

LESLIE AI have rented an uncovered trailer and I haven't had an issue until the last time I rented. I rented the same open trailer 1 week prior and week later I am told it's a different rate for which I questioned. I was told the last trailer was possible an upgrade, for which I wasn't advised of that. I needed the trailer so I went ahead and rented it at a different and higher rate. I am not happy and I question weather I will rent from U-Haul again. I would appreciate a response. Thank You

Autumn MI purchased a lock at u haul that did not fit the truck. Double check that before you roll off the lot. It was a newer truck.

RICHARD BI was fraudulently accused of causing damage to the truck which is far from the truth. I have a great driving record and I handled the uhaul with care. My gut told me when I picked up the truck to not do it. The gas was not on full- I was charged for that. There was damage to driver side that the associate caught only because there was glass on ground beside truck. I asked him about the check in text he said systems were down and that’s probably why I didn’t get but to not worry about it- all was good. I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN better. But I purchased the insurance or so I thought so I figured all as good. Only to be faced with an accusation of damaging the truck which did not happen at all. The whole experience was just trashy and feels so wrong. Well my 150 was stolen from Uhaul and nothing I can do except let people know and use another company in the future.
NATASHA PI arrived at 20 minutes to opening and I was trying to use the early pick-up app and it wasn't working. There were 2 guys cleaning trucks from the night before (Only 2 trucks. So i asked if one of them could help me out. I got we open at 7 and walked away. I figured the guy was just a outside employee that just kept up maintenance. So at 7 am they opened the doors and the guy i talked to was the one cleaning the truck. This really ticked me off, i was dropped off and it was drizzling outside on top of it all. Really uncalled for. 2nd, i brought the truck back at 6:50 pm and the sign clearly says stay in your vehicle and an attendant will come help. I could see inside and 2 guys were just sitting there and i saw they saw me. I sat for a few minutes thinking they are busy. I finally get up and go inside and they were totally disconnected from customer service. Mumbled do you want a printed or email receipt. They did say have a nice night. Ill go somewhere else next time.

When I asked him why he left me sitting for over thirty minutes he stated “I’m the hitch man and pointed at his hat.” I asked him why he parked the other four trucks in front of me and he asked “What do you want me to do?” I told him that I appreciated him helping check people in and he said “No you don’t. You came back here to bitch about it.” I went inside to request a receipt from Tashia and asked her if I could speak to her about the way the hitch man spoke to me and she responded “I really don’t have time right now.” She then rolled her eyes at me which she did multiple times with myself and other customers. I have an audible recording of my conversations with both employees and will be more than happy to play it for U-Haul management. I request someone from your management team contact me.. Terrible service and experience. Both employees should be reprimanded for speaking and acting the way they did this morning. Especially the hitch man that cursed at me.If I do not hear from someone within the next few days, I will be filing multiple complaints with various organizations and I will supply them with my evidence. ROBERT TThe app wasn’t working when I was trying to do the pre-trip equipment check and take the pictures of the outside of the vehicle. I was trying to do mobile pickup. It took a lot of time to get things dealt with.
JOEL BDont authorize or give permission to keep any vehicle then turn around and threaten them. If i didn't authorize you to charge my card and try to pull through 3 times, then why? I told 2 reps i was going to call and lay with a different card because I couldn't transfer the funds to pay what I owed $9.24 at the time of dropoff

KYLE AI rent a 5x8 trailer regularly from U-Haul for different jobs in several states, but this was the first time I used this location. The woman that helped me was so annoyed at me and condescending when I told her, her pricing was wrong and that she is overcharging me. She turned that monitor around to face me, like that would make a difference. I told her to start over and gave her the exact price to rent a 5x 8 for 24 hrs no insurance…….she said “that’s the price, I don’t know what to tell you”, then turned to her coworker who came over ….. he read the order she put in and it was completely wrong and double charged with add ons. He fixed it and I got the trailer. The level of self righteousness from that new girl is insane. I usually order this on the website so I could just stop in and go ASAP….. this time I had problems with the app not cooperating, so I had to have them put in the order.

I would recommend renting a storage unit from you all as the pricing for closet size storage was extremely high in my opinion compared to other storage companies. Which is the main reason I removed my items and took them to another company.. I do believe in what I'm paying for should match and to gauge that I shop round. In saying that anytime I've had to do other types of business with youa I've had a great customer experience as the staff is always helpful, polite, and experienced. Renting trucks, trailers, placing hitches and buying boxes Ithe prices you've offered Noone usually can beat its just the storage rentals are a bit pricey for me.

I ended up picking this center to rent the storage locker because it was closest to where I ended up staying. As well as the truck I was given had multiple issues with the ramp and I almost broke my foot when the ramp pulled out too far and did not have a safety precaution to prevent this. Would never recommend U-Haul again and wish I could go back in time and go with another company.

I left Detroit and U-Haul there put the wrong drop off location and the man was telling me to call or take the truck to the location listed on paperwork but i had an email from uhaul that said location I was at and spoke with phone Rep at U-Haul which reserved it. I moved from Detroit to Chesapeake, why would I want to drop off a truck in another part of Virginia??? I called the number he gave me and was on hold for awhile. The lady came and heard what was going on and called for me, got right through. If she had not helped me I would been figuring out how to drive to another part of Virginia I never heard of to drop off a truck. So I'm grateful for her help. I don't remember her name or if she was the manager but she wasn't dismissive like the first guy .

From the moment the call was answered to the time I completed my paperwork at the office the customer service has been explementary. Everything was explained to me in detail, no questions, no surprises, easy peasy. I even got a larger unit than I was looking at the competitors place at a cheaper price and better access hours bonus! U-HAUL wins my business and my recommendations, all because the competitor uses a call center and those folks do not know the policies/program, wouldn't/couldn't answer my questions and could care less about me as a customer.

The staff ( especially Krista, Summer, Autumn, & Christy are so VERY helpful & efficient, if they tell you something, you can believe them. When we have had issues with incorrect information from other Uhaul locations ( even out is state locations), we can call the Woodlake location in Chesapeake to get “ straight answers”! Those ladies are true gems!

Some of my items got wet / mold due to the unit next storage (according to office mgr. heavy rain.) My unit also had loose insulation hanging down. I needed to inspect the units (3) before renting. I was in a pickle so I rented sight unseen and didn't have the manpower to move out at the time.KS

Debbie M | Overall ExperienceAfter reserving our storage unit AND calling twice the day we were arriving once we arrived we were told there wasn't a unit available. We were told that since we didn't work directly with this facility they couldn't guarantee there would be anything available. I explained that while we didn't work directly with this facility the UHaul person that was helping us did in fact work directly with Corban at this facility when the reservation was made. After well over an hour they found a unit for us but there was no sense of urgency, there was very little communication as to what was happening. We had 3 carloads of people waiting to help us unload the truck as this was the first night of the holiday weekend and everyone had plans for the weekend but still there was no sense of urgency. In addition to that once we got the truck unloaded at pulled it out front it was 8:12 PM and the two remaining employees were getting ready to leave but because it was 12 minutes after closing they weren't interested in actually helping me get the truck checked in. They they told me if I couldn't figure it out they would check it in the next morning for a $20. fee! I did not get the vehicle checked in on line as the email I rec'd didn't have a link to do so so I took pictures of the truck, mileage and gas gauges and dropped the keys in the drop box. I was not charged the $20 fee thankfully but the entire experience once arriving at the Greenbrier facility was not good at all. Also, there was another customer there who had made a reservation and taken time off work to be at her appointment at the Greenbrier facility and she was told her reservation wasn't available either. Same story, she worked with a UHaul Rep that answered the phone for the Greenbrier facility after being on hold for 25 minutes and made her reservation for her. The employee's said that the system in place doesn't work because it doesn't accurately depict what is available it's just a guesstimate and that UHaul counts on people not showing up so they overbook. I feel like that's a terrible way to run a storage business when people are moving and counting on their reservations.
