Staff is inept. First day of renting, claimed my â€œtruck was stolenâ€ so had to wait for a customer to return one. Then, upon return, argued for over 20 minutes that my truck wasn't returned on Empty. It had a quarter tankâ€”exactly how I picked it upâ€”but clerk kept insisting it was Empty. She legit COULD NOT UNDERSTAND how a gas gauge worked; she thought the first white line was Empty instead of the red line. She also had problems deciphering the mileage driven. The person in charge was all shrugs and helplessâ€”â€œThat's what she's saying, so whatcha gonna do?â€â€”until I begged her to go see the readings / gauge herself. In total, lost about an hour of real time during a stressful move due to incompetence.Justin D.

Overall, great experience, except actual move-in. I have a unit already there, and I'm transferring to a bigger one, keep both for one month. I got the bigger one reserved, then went to go fetch my belongings from San Antonio. I arrive with a trailer full and there is no record of my reservation. The GM over the phone takes me for all the money I have to pay down the balance on the old unit before she will redo the reservation and let me unload. I rated my experience poor not because of the employees, but because of the internet/wifi and them not being able to use their computers to check out my van to me. It took a WHOLE HOUR for me to get a van that I reserved for 2:00p with counter service, but didn't get in that van until 3p. I had a melt down and cried a little because of being there so long. I had my helper waiting on me outside when she began to get agitated as well because it was taking so long. The manager was NO help as her phone couldn't take the pictures of my license when she tried to use her phone to check me in because of not having enough space so she told me to try and use my phone instead. She watched me struggle yell and cuss as i tried to do the online check-in that didn't go right on my phone either. I told her it's a reason that I opted for counter help because I haven't rented a Uhaul in 25 years. Yamon ended up using his phone to check me out. I'm giving HIM personally âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸. If it wasn't for Zach the Mgr. I would give it all 1s.. Zach was helpful and kind whenever I encountered him.However, my over all experience with the Whole UHAUL EXPERIENCE 00000 I WILL NEVER use this company again for any reason.Trucks, storage, nothing... Customer service phone agents are a total joke. Especially the couple I encountered working remotely. The prices are ridiculous, I found 2 storages the size of mine 30-40 bucks cheaper. Zach literally had to reenter all my info, the young lady entered it all wrong and I spelled it for her everything from name to my addr, to my emergency contacts names.smh Not enough African American employees in the company. This time returning the vehicle was horrible. The clerk took the keys, went to check the truck and over 30 minutes later he still hadn't came back. The other associate (Khalil) had to go find him and ask if everything was alright so I could finish checking out and leave. I guess the answer was yes. I requested 2 appliance dollies due to a move to the 3rd floor, yet received 1 utility dolly that really didn't help. Almost dropped the washing machine. Was told that I ordered boxes, packing supplies, 3 different vehicles, etc etc. I went back and looked at my order and confirmation. My experience initially was definitely great until when I got an update about my truck I went from being told 300 something dollars for owing to $758 in charges in the matter of 2 days for a rental truck that was parked on the uhaul premises for 11/13 days of me renting a truck. Zachary and his new staff are really improving the building by keeping it a lot cleaner. They are always there to assist me which I feel very good about. My unit had rips in the ceiling material which allowed my items to get mold. When asked about it by insurance company, they proceeded to say roof is metal. No one was talking about the outer roof. The discussion is about the inner ceiling where items are stored. I have stored items at U-Haul facilities for years and never had this happen. You would think the company would compensate or assist in compensation for your loss. No. Instead they bill you for another month and call it abandonment when you tell them you already moved out on the same day you left. But instead I get annoying calls and emails demanding payment when I no longer used unit. I had no lock on unit further occupying. The items that were in there were molded items that no one would touch. My movers wouldn't touch them per their policy at all and I wasn't able to either. The manager was told this and still chose to continue billing as if unit was still being used with a lock. Then they ask you to come in to sign abandonment paperwork. What abandonment?
