She also would not open the gate and had a terrible confrontation with the male owner after she left. He threatened to evict me if I was there again after hours, I was not aware of the hours since the website said open 24 hours. They could have handled it better. I am glad the owners changed and the new owners and workers have been great, the cleaner has been there every day I showed up cleaning the hallways and the outside.
Jimmy D | Overall ExperienceI absolutely cannot say enough about the team at this location Joanne went above and beyond for me and my family after losing my daughter and trying to get her storage situated. She remembered meeting my daughter when she set the storage up and when I told her that her health was declining she told me don’t worry. Ultimately we lost her. When I told Joanne, again she told me to take time to do what I need to do and she would help me figure things out later. She 100% did just that. I’m forever grateful for her kindness and keeping me up to date to make sure that we were able to get my daughters things. Did I mention I was doing all of this from another state! It was a lot and never once did she make me feel like a burden or a problem. I don’t know if you’ll see this Joanne but you are amazing.I could never thank you enough!

BEN L | Overall ExperienceLots of issues, increased rates for upgrades on the site, broken keypad, been reported multiple times. Manager/assistant manager not on site at store 1-2 miles away. Not very convenient when you have issues. The site is outdated, floors creak, elevator slow, see damage to units and they're still damaged. Manager has been to site, nothing changes. Have to get really upset in order to speak to manager and usually multiple attempts to speak with her. The assistant manager is really nice, helpful and actually seems to care about the people. He would make an awesome manager.

The persons working at that time didn’t let me do it because they said was to late and the gates will close and I’ll be locked in. So I returned the next day and I did it without any inconvenience and the manager a nice girl person took care of my business. Really a very nice lady

So I had to drive to the office location off of Rosemead Blvd. Check in process was very inconvenient and confusing when I reserved via app.

When I did get in touch with people, they were helpful but, that was after waiting on hold for 20 minutes. There are no staff at the site and the access hours are awful.

ADAM M | First ImpressionsSo far every part of my experience in using U-Haul services has been extremely negative and caused me many various losses. From the loss of my entire move due to the dangerous state of the truck that had been rented to me, to the great amount of financial and time losses accrued, as well as the 45 minutes my paid time for the movers I’d hired through U-Haul being monopolized by uhaul staff to complete what had already been completed by phone with U-Haul staff the prior day, causing me to pay almost double the amount of time for the movers to complete the move. I have no intention of ever using U-Haul for any service again, nor will I be providing positive feedback or recommendation.

Cesar was very knowledgeable, courteous, efficient, patient and thorough with his explanation for a storage rental at U-Haul and provided me with excellent customer service. I truly appreciate Cesar for being very kind and helpful to print out a receipt after I returned the cargo van I rented from U-Haul and to help me rent a storage space at U-Haul. He did a great job at explaining all the information to rent a storage space at U-Haul as well as the entrance and exit gates. Cesar deserves a commendation for assisting customers in person and on the phone because he is an exemplary employee. Thank you, Ellyn Kyler

MYRA T | Overall ExperienceI paid for a storage unit for almost two years that was “empty” because the manager was not willing to make a new contract and remove the second unit. They put a lock on it and refused to open it saying it was for safety reasons. We will never know if they were getting double the rent. My rent was regularly raised in the 12 years. I could never get a manager to help me anytime I needed anything. I am so happy to be done with this place.

However, when I got to the office the day before move-in, they told me they do not have what I reserved and the price is higher. What is the point of Reservation if that is not being taken? The manager said there is nothing they can do. I was forced to take a larger unit at higher price due to they do not have what I reserved a few weeks ago. Leaving a customer stranded last minute is terribly unprofessional.

Also when I arrived there, there was nobody available that knew how to handle the storage room paperwork. Had to wait 30 minutes for store manager to arrive. I have to go to Home Depot to buy a round lock with a key to replace the one already on my unit. The storage unit is straight across from the brick wall that separates facility from the street. Anyone can climb over wall and tamper with locks to open unit door. Not the safest location for a storage unit!!!!

I was told to come back next day and it wasn’t fixed yet. So I wasted time and gas on the U-Haul It was such a hassle. So annoying to call and wait. To not be helped, to be charged fees.

Francisco P | Overall Experience1) I told the location manager in person last week that I had cleaned out the unit (#0092 in Rosemead, Ca.) and wanted the account closed. He stated there was nothing more I needed to do. I thought the matter had been rectified yesterday when his wife Rachelle told me the charges had been reversed but later I received a second email stating $92.00 had been removed from my checking to pay for the month of August. 2) A few days prior to talking with the manager (“Sean”) I went to my storage unit. As I prepared to leave the gate message, a little bit after 5:00pm, stated the location was closed so I was stuck inside. Fortunately Sean pulled up a few minutes later so I was able to exit the property but not until he told me the location now closes at 5:00. I had not received prior notice of any kind informing me of the change in hours. I also have an issue with Sean regarding the return of a truck I had rented about a year ago. As soon as I informed that my storage was cleaned out, my access card was denied for me to leave the property. I had to sat there and waited for 10 minutes so I could piggyback another vehicle to got out. So frustrating !

SHELLI D | Overall Experience1) Locked out of facility although got through main gate with same card and code. 2) called facility 4x's b4 they were able to gain access for us. 3) rented 20 ft based on their advice on reservation call. 4) received 1 lock, arrived to 2-10ft storage (only given 1 lock) called again and agent had no clue that it was 2 units. No advise or clue what we were supposed to do. No help on site. No direction. 5) fit everything in 1 10ft unit. I want reduction on unit cost as we were I'll advised, no direction, no customer service. * I had 2 movers that I paid hourly waiting around over an hour while I tried dealing with the staff at the uhaul rental on Rosemead. Not a favorable experience at all!!!

Miscommunication thru different employees for different aspects of the process such as setting up the truck to getting our things in the storage. Conflicting sources for the hours of operation to the ease of access with key and access code. After only a month or two of being in storage our stuff was covered in saw dust and spider webs. It was not the worst experience since everyone was very friendly and did try to help but I would warn everyone I recommend to make sure you are very on top of things and ask a lot of questions because there could be a lot of confusion.
