I have used this facility a few times. It seems understaffed. Each time there has been a long line that takes a long time. I don’t believe that is the fault of the employees, there are simply too few of them.

When I went to the location i had reserved months ahead of time, I was told the truck had not been returned despite 2 trucks sitting there I could use. For this location, the truck was blocked in so took 20 minutes to get the truck out. When I returned it, the staff was on the phone with a personal phone call as I stood and waited for her to finish her call so I could leave

I had reserved 26' from 53rd an Keystone, live near by easy to get an return. Around 2:30pm Friday afternoon I get text saying my reservation moved to 61st an Michigan Rd Not Convenient at all. I had stopped in to talk with Manager on Wed to make sure truck would be available at this location at stated time. Why have reservation when you rent truck out from under customer. Manager stated they have some policy about Guaranteed availability an a $50 reimbursement. Michigan Rd basically told me no such thing existed. I am not sure why any of this needed to happen reservation don't seem to mean much! Bob Weisenbach

Not related to this location. Made a reservation (87639340) on 8/17 via the Uhaul app to pick up a 10’ truck at a mobile pickup only location near my home that I’ve used before. Immediately called U-Haul - spoke to Taylor - to confirm my reservation, that the truck was indeed there and available, since it was same day. He said I was good. Got to the location for pick up, but the app said no equipment was assigned to me. Called U-Haul again, spoke to Holly, where she stated that absolutely nothing could be done, that I would need to go to a different location for pickup. Spent about 30 minutes in line at the new location. Nice employees but totally unsatisfactory experience. Will use Penske next time.

Very unprofessional staff especially the manager Antonio! The workers were arguing about chips and meat instead of concerned about renting their trucks correctly. Set my one way up as a local and then tried to charge me for wrong drop off when I was OBVIOUSLY going out of town (hints why I was requesting a one way) THEN tried to charge me damage fees for damages that I have photos of from when the truck was picked up and a dolly that NEVER existed in that truck. Antonio proceeded to call my emergency contact “looking for his truck” TWO HOURS before my drop off time and FIVE MINUTES after he spoke with me on the phone. Currently awaiting a court date 🤦‍♀️ save your troubles and go to another location or rental company for that matter!!

I’d love for the truck’s drive shafts to not fall out of the trucks almost killing my family. Outside of the horrible customer service throughout the entire experience, the fact that something like a drive shaft could just fall out of a 20 foot box truck is just unacceptable. There has to be some sort of code violations happening. This breaking down of equipment did eventually lead to a massive crash where our tow truck that took 4 hours to get to us (we were only 45 minutes outside of Memphis) got blown up by a semi truck going 70 mph not paying attention to the road. We were put up into a hotel and told we would get our truck the next day so that we could move our stuff from one truck the other. The communication was so poor and it ended up taking U-Haul two more days to simply get the truck from another towing company to their location. From start to finish, outside of maybe two people, I dealt with about 15 people working for U-Haul and no experience was positive. I never ask for my money back…EVER. But this is the first time I truly feel I should be refunded my money. U-Haul put me and my family through it.

Please bear in mind that I rarely give bad reviews. They canceled my wiring service that is signed up for online. I asked for help with picking a ball joint and the store manager didn’t have the attention to listen to me and help because he appeared to be on a personal call. So I ended up with a several inch dip which I didn’t need for my vehicle. After a few hours of rewiring my car myself, I came back to pick up the trailer. The inspector was a joke. She let the chains hang so that the were totally dragging on the ground and didn’t say anything about the low clearance I had. I asked her about these obvious problems and she said I was fine and told me to leave. All of these problems had to later be corrected. I went into this rental knowing little about trailers, but after all of my troubleshooting I feel like I could be more helpful than employees at this location. It was such a bad experience. Every time I had to interact with an employee I basically held my breath because I knew what I was going to be told would either inconvenience me or just be wrong.

I think you need to evaluate the gas situation. I put gas in prior to return but since there the level of the gas is purely subjective how could you ever truly get it correct. That is nickel and dime garbage. I still did not mark you at unsatisfactory because a poor score can have drastic effect. Just error on grace with the gas. Again it is so subjective.

The store was to open at the same time as my appointment. However, the manager was over 15 minutes late. Employee’s were standing outside waiting for him to arrive and unlock the doors. Then the van I reserved had to be switched, because the other was blocked in by multiple other vehicles. Upon drop off, the staff refused to accept my excess supplies for refund because I didn’t have a printed receipt. Apparently when you buy the supplies online, viewing the email was insufficient. I left the $50.80 worth of supplies at the store with no compensation. I was then told I would be emailed my final receipt. This receipt significantly increased my total fee. Closer inspection revealed the store mistakenly added an additional 100 miles. I then spent another half hour on the phone with the late to arrive manager to resolve the issue. Thank goodness I took pictures of the odometer. Absolutely horrible experience from beginning to end. I would definitely rate zero stars if that was an option. You need to do better!

The trailer itself looked as if it had been through a fire (peeling paint). When we got to our end location, upon opening the trailer, a stench of smoke came out as we opened the back. All items in the trailer (furniture, blankets, etc.) all reeked of smoke. We have spent the last week cleaning and discarding items due to the smell that has permeated everything that was in the trailer. Hundreds of dollars and dozens of hours. Besides that, the location and its staff were top notch. Helped make sure we had the correct hitch and we very friendly.

This is a tough one. My experience in Denver was extremely good. Staff was super helpful and accommodating, and it's the best U-Haul experience I've ever had. Everyone on the 1-800 line was also very helpful and friendly. It wasn't until my U Boxes got to the location in Indianapolis that things got off the rails. That location was the most unprofessionally run store I've been to. I made a reservation to access my boxes more than 24 hours in advance, and when I got there they didn't know who I was and didn't have my boxes pulled. Once they finally got them all out of the warehouse, about an hour later, I still couldn't access them because they were screwed shut with metal plates and deck screws. No worries there except for the fact that the staff wasn't able to help me get them open and left me hanging in the back of the facility. Thankfully I had a multi tool with me and was able to pry the plates off and access them, but not everybody carries something like that. That was an extremely stark contrast to the service I experienced in Denver. Also, I had to call the store three times to confirm my delivery date and time. Each time I called they were extremely dismissive and rude. I had made the reservation on the app and confirmed with the 1-800 number but at that point I had zero confidence in the staff at the Indy store. Thankfully, after a comical amount of deliberation, I was able to get them to confirm my date, time and location at about 7PM the night before my move. My first two boxes showed up in the final minutes of the delivery window I was given, and the third didn't arrive until a few hours after those. Definitely not ideal, but at the end of the day, I got my boxes on the day I needed them, but with no shortage of stress and frustration. Also, I got charged for a FULL MONTH of storage even though they sat for a day and a half into my monthly renewal period and apparently Uhaul is unable to pro rate storage fees, which is a joke to me. This ended up being as expensive as Pods, and about a hundred times more stressful and annoying to deal with. So needless to say, this will be the last time I use Uhaul for any of my moves in the future.

The young man who checked me in seemed more interested in personal time on his phone than helping me. He sent me a link to scan front/back of my ID, then watched me struggle with it for a few minutes. Only when my phone got stuck and wouldn't work did he actually turn his attention to me and do it himself. It took him only about 20 seconds.

I booked a storage space & U-Haul online at this location. We moved all our items from home into the U-Haul, filled the gas back up and arrived back at this location to now move items into a storage unit. Representative 1 obtained all my information, process payment, gave me my storage # & showed me how to access storage area. The movers open the storage unit and it was full of boxes from the previous storage owner. Representative 2 was notified and he stated “This is the customer’s fault.” & “We don’t have anymore units available.” I walked back to the front and Representative 3 (Hispanic Female) goes on to tell me “We don’t have anymore units here” “I am going to refund your money” “You have to go to another U-Haul location on layfette & see if they have a storage” “we check and clean storage at night” “we cannot touch the customers items in the storage.” Representative 3 didn’t care about us having to drive more miles to another location then back to this location to return uhual or the possibility that the next location might not have had any storage availability or that I had 2 movers waiting to unload our items for over an 1. Representative 4 gave me the mangers information and stated to call him immediately regarding this issue. After 1.5hrs the manager was able to provide me a storage unit and refund for first month (still waiting on refund) The manager was very professional, kind and compassionate about the situation.

Key card never worked always had to wait until store was open to get to my storage. If you were 2 days late they charge a 15.00 late fee another 15.00 if your 2 weeks late. Storage unit area had birds in there my stuff had bird feces on it.

The staff at the facility were so helpful. There was a problem with my access card and staff members Stony and Jesus were always available to open the storage room and Stony put in great effort to investigate the problem by reaching out to his boss and then the supervisor above his boss too! So a huge shout out to the staff for being helpful. Monet was the agent who helped us secure the storage room and she was friendly and quick to get the room assigned so we could start moving in. The hallways are very well lit and there was even a cart we could use to move things into our storage unit. However the light in the storage room we rented was burnt out.
