Nobody picks up the phone. A train line runs in front so if they decide to stop the train there for 40 mins you are stuck! The staff (one guy), doesn't pick up the phone and to say he's not that polite would be an understatement.Justine P.

There was a mechanical problem with the trailer and it should be removed from service until the problem is resolved. When attempting to guide the trailer in reverse, it only guides to the right. Basically when you steer right the trailer should guide to the left and when you steer left, the trailer should guide to the right. In other words, the trailer only steers right. When I arrived to Texas, I had a truck driver check it and he confirmed there was a mechanical problem. The drop off location said they would check it out. If this is not resolved, the next customer will not be able to back out of small spaces. I had this problem when attempting to back out of my drive way in New Orleans. Ultimately because I was backing up on a narrow street, I had to drive across my grass and my neighbors drive way to swing the trailer around.DENISE C.

The truck was in need of repairs. The after hours online return process was horrible. The truck didn't have gas. I had to put gas in it as soon as I got the truck. I returned it as is bad was still charged over $30 for gas. I uploaded a photo and showed the customer service rep that there wasn't gas in the truck. The online system would not allow me to enter the correct mileage traveled. Not a good experience at allDiadre S.

The problem that I have with Uhaul in that city is that for this trip I scheduled my equipment (truck and auto transport) two weeks ahead of my move. I received a call two days before the move telling me that they would not have a auto transport available at the location on the day of my move and that they would have to move my reservation to another location. Then the person I spoke with moved the reservation to a location that was 40 minutes away from me. I asked if they could move the reservation to a location that is closer to where I lived and was told the only way they could do that is if I pick the truck up from one location and the auto transport from another. My plans changed to where I now had to make two trips to pick up the different pieces of equipment, and start two separate contracts for the trip. Also, the price went up by $200 dollars. I offered to move the truck to where the auto transport was located myself cause I didnt understand how the equipment that has wheels could not be moved to the same location so I could start just one contract. The people at the locations were great and helped me get on my way. I just do not understand why I had to pay more and spend more time trying to get on the road when the truck could of been taken to where the auto transport was located.Terrell B.

There could be more accuracy on reporting things like mileage and fuel. I was told that the truck was on 3/4 of a tank and it appeared to be less. The agent assisted in getting the truck also acknowledged that the fuel was not correct, but yet I was charged for fuel that was never there.ASHANTI S.
Thanks to this location specifically for saving the experience. Our closest location on St. Claude Ave was poor in service and also reserved a truck for us and canceled it the next day. The sales rep was horrible and very deceiving. DONALD BRANON tricked me into swapping trucks at his location without informing me that there would be a double charge, a charge for the U-Haul truck that I already had and another charge for the larger truck he coerced me into upgrading to. I paid for a truck that I never used because of DONALD BRANON. My experience will be posted in online reviews and blogs to make the public aware of the deceptive practices at the U-Haul Michoud location and their representative Donald Branon. These times are extremely financially hard and I am unable to afford any additional unnecessary expenses and wasted time. No one should rent from this location.CHRISTOPHER W.

Very poor experience. Was told that my storage unit was climate controlled when I signed the contract. We did not do a walk thru so I took their word that it was, in fact, climate controlled. In the next few days, I loaded up two trailers only to find out my unit was NOT climate controlled when I opened it. Also, I've yet to talk to Alvin, the store manager, to cancel this contract. Cancelled my initial location reservation (Tulane avenue New Orleans) within 24 hours of pickup time. This has major implications with my scheduled move. Being asked to pickup a rental 55 minutes away is unreasonable and falls well short of customer satisfaction expectations. Ultimate solution was a pickup about 25 minutes, better but not optimal, especially considering I was told I would be responsible for the extra gas. Truck was not very clean - old receipts and smelled like cigarette smoke (not sure you can do much about the latter). The gentleman at the 2nd location was very helpful and respectful.Patrick C.

We were schedule to pick up the Uhaul in Harvey. Michoud Blvd pickup was more expensive in the end. We had to pick it up a night earlier than we planned due to how far out of the way it was for us. That is not Michoud's fault, that is poor logistics on U-haul. U-haul should have done more in compensating for the mistake on their end.BRENT A.

When I pumped my gas to return it back it came out the fuel line n went all over my feet and shoes I brought it back and told the guy hey looked under the truck and said I see the problem we won't charge you fa the gas what about my health and safety I cud have died or killed someone else driving that truck with a corrupt fuel line then I was over charged for my mileage I took a picture of the Mileage when I first got in the truck when I returned to drop it of I mentioned to him that the miles on my paperwork is not the milage that was in the truck he said I'll fix it to get an alert from my bank saying I was charged 68$ and some change for a 19.95$ uhaul I only drove from the uhaul place to the service road on bullard loaded the truck dropped off my stuff at 2 oaks apartments which is 5 blocks off of Alcee Fortier and Chef right back down the street to michoud Blvd and Chef da uhaul place is 3 blocks off chef on michoud Blvd right down the street from where i dropped off my load in beyond mad and I should sue you guys especially behind the fuel goin all over me I have witnesses of wat happened to me at da gas station it's even on camera because I had to tell the clerk in the gas station that there was a large amount of gas on da ground because the uhaul truck fuel line is bustedLydia J.
