This location was very helpful with meeting my needs as a customer. I was turned away at the location in marrero due to not having a “504 area code phone number”. I have a valid out of state driver’s license and a military I.D. It was a local move. However this location said that was no problem and gave me the truck and paperwork.
TRAMPAS WThis rental experience was the most inconvenient and disappointing rental experience I have ever had!!! Firstly, the website would have me go through the process of reserving the truck early.. I had nothing but problems attempting to set up an account with uhaul, and finally after 11/2 hours I was able to get the code to verify my account. THEN I got all the way to the end of picking up the truck and it says I have to go inside anyways. Since I wasted so much time trying to check in online, I missed .my bus to get to the store to get the truck, I got a text message saying I needed to contact uhaul to verify that I was still coming. I was on hold for 23 minutes, I told the woman on the phone that I was on the city bus and would arrive shortly. She said she was going to make. Note on my reservation. To my frustration when I get to the counter, I am informed that whoever I spoke to on my way to the rental company DID NOT make any notation saying I had called and do my reservation was cancelled. THEN I am informed that instead of the 10' truck I wanted, the only options available was the 26' truck, at 49.95. not only was the truck too big to drive, but cost was much higher. I was also forced to prepay for 30 miles . All I wanted was the 10' truck. Also, your advertising is extremely deceptive, as it only quotes the daily rate before taxes. NEVER is it mentioned about having to pay per mile, and definitely doesn't say anything about being prorated when renting I regret renting with you because I had to pay 100 bucks and didn't even get to do what I needed to do

It was frustrating and terrifying and the business was very unprofessional! I never received my uhual truck deposit back and I am still waiting for a response for my police report. The customer service when I picked up the truck was good and I believe it was the manager, friendly and professional. But when I returned the truck, I walked into the building because I thought I would get the receipt while I’m there and the person who was working was very rude to the point that I won’t even use this location again. EMAD HVehicle smelled of cigarettes, and the windshield had a film on the inside from the smoke. Not Uhauls fault perse, but an ozone generator in the vehicle for a few hours ands windshield detailing would take care of this. It should also be noted that the Customer service was great.

Michael WThe Uhaul van I rented smelled very badly of smoke. When you opened the door the smell hit you in the face. I tried putting the windows down to air it out; however, the driver's side window got stuck in the down position and I had to push the glass to get it to go back up. Also, the left blinker light was out. I reported all of these issues to the representative upon return.

Calvin C | Overall ExperienceThe truck I rented had a tire leak and even though the rental location was good enough to swap trucks and give me and extra hour on my rental at no charge the employees outside said almost all the trucks had bad tire pressure sensors so that needs to be addressed.
William BMy experience with U-Haul storage was bad only because of the elevator was down for over three months and I was charged knowing that the elevator was going to be down. I had to buy and purchase items that I didn’t need because I had them in storage and the only way you can go to get anything out of storage, but through the fire escape, which was a chance I was able to take once it was too high for me to be up there and unsafe mentally for me. Such a bad experience financially, emotionally and physically. Although I know it was not the employees of U-Haul responsibility to have a working elevator is on the company U-Haul corporate and the elevator company however I would like to be compensated for my inconvenience.
Ellis P | Overall ExperienceThe truck smelled like cigarettes. I’m a non-smoker and it really bothered me. I love the speedy service and I’ve used this location several times. Never disappoints. The cup holder was not cleaned out but those were minor things and I really appreciate the business. Always have what I need when I need them.

Ellis P | First ImpressionsI woulda went somewhere else a big no for me and this UHAUL is higher than any Uhaul I ever been to. The place also had an elevator, which we had to wait. The workers was asking me to keep my truck there and come back in the morning because it was 7pm. Mind you I been patiently waiting to use the elevator because two people was in the unloading station and only two truck can go in. The storage is smaller and higher and this wasn’t the best service at all but I don’t know because the air was broken and I woulda got aggravated too!! The guys was awesome also.

Making it smaller. I guess its the shape of the building but it doesnt make sense to pay for space that youre not using. Also the access hours are horrible. Being able to only access your unit during office is HORRIBLE

Carlos R | Overall ExperienceI have rented from U-Haul multiple times and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Prior to moving in I received the traditional email with my unit number, access code, and storage hours which are listed as 6am - 10pm. Once I arrived to the storage I tried entering my access code and I received an error message saying invalid code. I informed the manager and she said “o you don’t need a code because your storage is on this side.” I didn’t think anything of it and said ok thank you. After moving in I went to my storage after the office was closed but during storage access hours to retrieve something and to my surprise I was faced with the same message access denied invalid code. At this point I’m totally confused so I call the 800 number to see what’s going on to only be told they can’t issue me code I would have to speak with the property manager. I was scheduled to go out of the country the next morning and needed to access my storage then and there. After misssing my trip I called the property manager as soon as they opened to get an access code so I can gain access to my belongings and she informed me “we don’t give codes here you can only get in your storage when the office is open.” I was at a total lost for words as I have never heard of anything like this especially since I have an email stating other wise and again this was not my first time renting from U-Haul but it was most definitely my last. Ms. Aleisha Smith is a crook and she is robbing people out of their money. Due to her customer service I will never rent from U-Haul again nor will I recommend anyone to rent from them either.

The email I got and also the customer service rep I called that same day said the storage close at 10 pm. So I was not able to get into my storage on the day I was supposed to move into it and also I had to use gas to drive 2 hours to where I stay at and 2 hours back to the storage place the next morning. The employees didn’t help at all. All the employees need training on how to deal with customers or be fire or something. This was the worst customer service experience I ever experienced.

I called to speak with the manager she made a promise to compensate me,which I never received an email with any changes included. Didn’t happen. However, these ladies need to be on undercover boss,that’s how rude and ignorant they are at the U-Haul West Bank , Gretna , LA location. The next month I closed out my storage and moved on. You shouldn’t try people you know nothing about. That’s making a long story short

The service agent clearly stated that I had a unit at this location that was climate controlled. I get to the location and they do Not have my reservation and cannot offer a climate controlled unit. This was frustrating. Then to be told we will be charged an extra $2 per furniture blanket if we don't fold them....REALLY?! Other than that, experience was decent. Team at this location still was helpful in resolving the issues.
