First I find it very hypocritical and disrespectful that they are telling their customers to wear masks when none of their staffs wears them ever. My issues started right away when I went to open the unit and they put it under my fathers name instead of mine, even though I told them multiple times the unit was for me. This caused problems with charging for the unit which resulted in my having to pay late fees. They had me buy one of their locks for the unit, then a couple months later denied me access to my unit until I bought another kind of lock from them. Saying that it’s part of their policy but there was nothing like that in the contract. Now I’m finally closing the unit and decide to rent a 10” truck for my move to Florida. They wouldn’t “hold a reservation” for us saying it was “first come, first serve”, which makes the point of a reservation pointless. When we arrived a day early for fear that they wouldn’t have a truck for us, we found their lot was filled with 10’ trucks, so I don’t know why they couldn’t reassure us that they had a truck for us. As we were checking out the storage room, the attendant closed out the account which subsequently locked us out of the storage room, when we had already informed him that we were about to clear it out. They said just go unlock the room and the alarm will sound for a little bit. Great security right there. The staff here is unfriendly, unprofessional and unhelpful. We had to go find the truck ourselves! The truck they gave us WAS. NOT. CLEAN. But neither were the other ones that day. We found all kinds of debris, and even a used mask left inside the truck. The driver side windshield wiper is broken and scratching the window. The passenger front headlight is obviously loose and is almost like a strobe while driving. As we are half way through the move, driving through Texas, the oil gauge starts to drop and the truck wouldn’t shift into gears correctly without making a popping sound. It was also at this time the brake felt a little wobbly too. Why call for a reservation when they aren’t going to inspect the vehicle for a long distance drive?!? They were told over the phone where the vehicle was heading. The least they could’ve done was make sure it was operational. This location is the absolute worst and no one should ever store their belongings here or rent any vehicles from them.MICHAEL J. | Overall Experience

The setup at this location was amazing! It looked like some just swept the parking lot. No litter anywhere. Also, I loved the way-finding arrows on the pavement to direct me to the drop off point. The drop-off spot was covered from rain and/or hot sun. The U-Haul tech unhooked the trailer and I did not even have to get out of the vehicle. Great Price on a Storage space. But after I was randomly told I could no longer park my service truck at there facility. I was told that commercial vehicles could not be there. The fuel situation needs to be addressed. The gage picture on the paperwork that shows how many gallons are needed to get to 3/4 of a full tank is WAY off. The gas gage in the truck showed a little over 1/4 and it was suggested that I add 23 gallons to bring the gage to 3/4. I did so and the gas gage now showed FULL! I added WAY too much fuel and I got the truck with LESS than 3/4 of a tank. Also the agent tries too hard to get customers to purchase the extra insurance by scaring them half to death. My total experience with U Haul in renting 6 u boxes and two 10x10 lockers has been outstanding. Unformed experience in renting the vehicle on 12/19 was less so. The associate who rented me the vehicle indicate a fuel gage that registered 5/8 full which I confirmed when I drove away. My total rental time was about 90 minutes and 13 miles round trip. When I turned the vehicle in I was inform the vehicle was 7/8 full when I rented it. I attempted to discuss this with the turn in associate that a 13 mile round trip would not result in that much gas consumption. I said, do the math. She said she didn't have to do the math because the computer did. Consequently I filled the vehicle to 7/8+ full for fuel I did not consume. Not very satisfying.MICHAEL C.

U-haul moving support (trucks, trailers, etc) infrastructure is dated and broken affecting customer service and hasn't evolved in many decades. Extremely happy with storage so far. We needed a place to store a majority of our belongings during a remodel and move. We selected the UHaul location because it was climate controlled, affordable and easily accessible. After 10 months of storing our stuff we were ready to move out and the process couldn't have been any easier. All of our items were clean, the unit remained free of dirt, debris and bugs/rodents. Zero issues. The facility is very well kept and cleaned. Every time we visited the unit we saw cleaning crews taking care of things. The U-Haul we were shown was very clean on the inside. The U-Haul we got was full of food wrappers behind the seats and we had to vaccum the inside and wipe the dashboard and clean the cup holders. They were filthy and sticky and the windshield was very dirty. We felt it hadn't been cleaned properly. The staff we dealt with on the day we reserved the truck and the day we picked it up were very friendly.janet G.

Agent needs more training. Didn’t quite know what storage spaces were available via screen. I made reservations months ago and was told that ‘your space is guaranteed’. When I checked with actual location they said ‘sorry-no ‘35 ft spaces are available’. I explained what I was told about my reservations but they just said can’t help you’. You ask how this location was, but not how my overall experience was?...Because that was terrible. I booked a truck to pick up overnight. I drive 2 hours in the night to get the truck, I arrive at a Chandler, Az location where it was booked and it says my pickup had expired. I call corporate customer service and get told exactly this... You were half an hour late to pick up so we gave your truck to someone else who will pick it up tomorrow. I ask where in the fine print it says I must pick up AT the specified time. She tells me its not in the fine print and this happens often. She then tells me call regional customer service in the morning. So I call first thing in the morning. This rep tells me the same thing...yeah nowhere in your contract does it say you must pickup AT the pickup time...sorry. Oh and there are no other trucks available... THIS IS WRONG! You completely screwed me uhaul. I end up having to change all my plans, cancel my moves, drive back up to Prescott, rearrange child care, rearrange storage unit move in days...it was a nightmare all because YOU Uhaul screwed me...and this came from the very mouths of TWO of your customer service reps. Neither of which did anything but give me the petty $50 reimbursement... $50 bucks doesn't replace the time, money and gas I spent fixing YOUR error....I end up getting a truck the next week at the San Tan location. Thank goodness for you Uhual that this stud of an employee Caden works there. I was prepared to curse the name of Uhaul until I died to every living soul I came across (and Im not being dramatic, I was pissed off). BUT, Caden made everything right. He was very helpful, agreed what happened was wrong, ALSO agreed that things like this are common with the company and he wants to make them better. He eliminated MORE petty charges that came up in my account. CADEN SAVED THIS TRANSACTION....He was excellent and needs to be paid a lot more than he does, and be in charge of a lot more than he is. What your customer service reps failed to do, he corrected as best he could. Uhaul, you need to give Caden a raise because instead of me cursing your name to everyone I know, I now explain how Uhaul screwed me BUT they had this GREAT employee who actually made it right and I would actually use Uhaul again, with great caution though.TREVOR K.

My only concern is the automatic lights did not come on at the unloading dock right away as it got dark. It made it difficult to see while moving in. Just need to adjust the timer. Also, there wasn't a trash can near the unloading dock to throw away trash as you clean the truck to turn in. We have had multiple issues with the billing system and administering it. The first couple months they couldn’t figure out how to setup autopay and assessed late fees and then when my card was compromised they simply charged a late fee and moved on. Bad business. My only complaint would be that I was in the hospital for 4 weeks and my husband was trying to juggle work, caring for our Great Dane, coming to visit me (I almost died) and move into our new home. So it took him 2 or 3 days, I don't remember, into our next month before he could get everything out of storage and we were charged for the whole month.
