One of the lights were out on the back of the trailer. Also it was very unorganized. I wasnt expecting to have to pay for 2 days. There was no need especially since the return was contactless. I feel cheated. I didn't need it for nor asked for 2 days.

Systems were running slow so was a bit hectic there on a Saturday morning but staff did everything they can to keep things moving.
Kevin GChristina R. was absolutely delightful! She greeted us and was very helpful when my phone would not scan the barcode on my license. She was very thorough when describing your processes and answered questions knowledgeably. I observed her use of patience with a challenging customer and was happy to see teamwork exhibited with a coworker who was also very nice to talk to. Both seemed to enjoy their jobs. I was a little surprised that Cristina had to walk all the way around the building to the units and imagine that she would have driven a vehicle if it was raining. Having a golf car may be good for your employees since this location is so large. Our unit was very clean, easy to get to and access. No one‘s on the same page and they continue to send me a bill saying that I owe when I do not owe. I have proof that I moved out on the 27th and I wanted to be documented. This is my review for U-Haul Like communication and continuing to badger. The customer not pleased.

She was so welcoming and helpful. She went above and beyond as well as Kristina who also stayed to help and provided excellent service. There was a system issue that caused an even further delay which meant they had to stay well beyond the closing time but helped with a smile on their faces as if I was the first customer of the day and most important. That type of service is rare unfortunately in 2025.

ANA TThis was the worst experience. I made my appointment at this site because I could only come in after 4pm but when I showed up I was told their installer always left by 2pm and they had no idea I had booked the appointment (over a week in advance). I then had to take time off to come in during their installer's time. I was told it would take 20 minutes but it took over 2 hours. I purposely didn't get electrical components installed so I wouldn't risk damage to my car's electric system, but sure enough, my rear parking sensors were damaged by the installation. I called several times and couldn't get through to anyone at the location. I opened a case twice with Uhaul and was never called back (I found out later the location had closed the case without calling me). I finally showed up in person and they sent me to a different location, saying the installer there was expecting me and could fix the damage that day. I drove 35 minutes only to find out the installer there had no idea I was coming and was about to leave and could not help me. The original site had also promised to call me and refund some of my money, but of course that never happened either. The second site has offered to fix it, and I'm hoping they will be able.
LILA SVery friendly lady checked me in and she even lifted the trailer off the ball all by herself. I couldn't get there fast enough to assist her.

Then they act like they dont want to work there and THENNNN I was told to leave the keys in the truck, mind you the line of trucks to be returned was down the street and there were homeless people right up the street. I wouldve been liable for anything happening to the truck had I “left the keys in the truck”. 3 other people who were returning trucks, were told the same thing, we all were in agreement, that this was CRAZY!

However, the wait time was a little long because he was the only one attending to customers, and there were a few of us. We had to go and find the truck because it was not in the location he thought it was., and he was too busy to take us to it. I believe we should have been taken to the truck location and given a walk through of the equipment before we got in. Especially the fact that the mileage we were shown on the contract was not the mileage in the truck when se got in. I feel as if we were left out there on our own (because he was so swamped with trying to attend to the others customers), and did not have the choice to accept or reject the kind of truck/equipment we preferred. Therefore overall Edward did the best he could have done in that situation….however, there's much room for improvement in the service. Thanks.

I wasn’t able to change the reservation start time even though I wasn’t able to pick up the truck until 45 minutes after the start time. They were very disorganized and couldn’t keep track of which trucks were available and which trucks they had already given away. Will not be going back to this location again.

More carts, longer access hours. Super nice, helpful staff. By contrast, my early experience with UHaul Storage on Boxmeer Drive was dreadful and would have gotten a poor rating. When I first got my units, (two, originally), I kept being assigned units that were full of other people's stuff. It took a week of daily effort to sort that out. Phone wait times for the Central Office used to be horrendous -- routinely exceeding 20 minutes and once taking over 90 minutes. Seriously, by contrast, the quick, cheerful phone help at Central is outstanding now. The website was consistently messed up throughout the years I had a unit there and remains so. It's great for ordering a truck or trailer rental. Not so for anything regarding the storage space rental. Very poor. The main website would never let me pay my storage bill online. For years, the computer could not even find my unit at all and provided no way to pay online. I was never able to log on once to my account in years for a variety of reasons I was told, but mostly the many people I told about this were clueless why the computer gave me special, rotten treatment. I had to pay for storage 100% on the phone through Central. Until recently, even your phone staff at Central had trouble finding my storage account and would look for it for 15 minutes or more until finally locating it each month when I tried to pay. We had to go through this time-consuming hassle every single month until recently, when your phone reps were finally able to quickly and accurately access my account even though, to date, I cannot not do so directly. The people at Boxmeer Drive in Charlotte have NEVER answered their phone directly. Too busy, I guess. I think I got through directly exactly once in years of trying. I called at all hours, due the aforementioned computer and billing problems. You have thankfully gotten rid of the unbelievably obnoxious, incompetent manager you once had long ago when I first rented. You also had one lower-level, dishonest employee who also thankfully appears to be gone. The stories regarding those two people are well documented in my many early interactions at all levels, even higher-ups at Central. My access card at the site does not work there, but this is no problem because the doors beside the main office open during access hours without needing the card. This made things much easier and quicker, though I am amazed I did not see any sign of attempted thievery. I always felt safe there, though this part of Charlotte is anything but. Most recently, Sue at Boxmeer was super helpful and attentive. Very impressive. Reward her and keep an eye on her for promotion.

I noticed a number of improvements, floor sealing and repairs to the bumps in some hallways, nice. I travel a lot and often do not have the luxury of planning my arrival to the property within access hours. I’m in sales and need access to larger samples frequently. In that neighborhood, I 100% agree with the necessity for security. Having to move larger, heavier awkward objects through that one small door before 5pm on Sundays at 7pm during the week, made my experience difficult at times. In the end, the late hour access and the neighborhood in general made for the decision to look elsewhere. At a high level, I enjoy UHaul products and will continue to use them.

Didn't have problems with this location other than the price going up after a couple months and when I finally got my belongings out of storage, I had roaches and spiders in my things. I didn't have a bug problem before putting my stuff into this storage. The staff was friendly and helpful. I got to access my storage anytime I needed. Uhaul is always convenient because when you need to move the uhaul trucks are right there to help you with your move. Also it is more affordable than some other storage units at different businesses. I have been using haul services almost my whole adult life whenever I need it and I'm 35. Other than the bug problem, I would recommend.

The inconvenient the movers experience was worst than what I experience. They had driven approximately 2hrs to unload but had to wait another two or more hours to unload the furniture into the units. They had planned to be away from their home around 4 hours which ended up being 6 or 7 hours. In my opinion management should has check before the arrival of clients to make sure everything on the contract was set and ready. It was Father's day and the movers want to get home to spend time with his children I am sure.

I received a text message on 5/30(2 days prior) with a different pick up location, which was an inconvenience because I also was renting a storage unit at the location where I was originally picking up the truck from. And on top of that UHAUL has charged me for going over on mileage when my original pick up and drop location was covered for the mileage needed. I was told that this matter was sent to management and I would hear something within 3 business days. Tomorrow makes a week and no one has contacted me. UHAUL DROPPED THE BALL on this one.

When asked to pull the tape I was told that the location had no camera. And the camera that was facing my unit had been covered. I filed a police report, and ultimately I have gotten nowhere and it appears I’m making this up. I wouldn’t make up a story about my gun being stolen and suspicious behavior from a certain staff. I had a lot of respect for this place until that happen. I am now out of a gun, speaker, and some other personal items. The employees failed to make sure all the units were secure and that all cameras were properly working with no obstruction. I am highly disappointed especially after renting for two years. Thank you for the service but I will not be returning or referring this place.

This location gave me several papers that were not mine and laughed it off that they almost gave out confidential paperwork including business financials and other customer receipts. This location did not properly enter my access code to the building and we were locked out and unable to unload our truck. I called the location the next morning after a 6 hour drive- and they told me that I was “entering my code wrong” however I was not and myself and 3 other people tried entering the pin. There were other customers there who were able to get into the building with their code and showed me how and yet I was still unable to get inside. Nakita from the location told me on the phone after I called the morning after being locked out that someone else-another customer- should have just let me into the building. Another customer did let me inside and when we opened our unit door, the alarm for the entire building went off. We are extremely unhappy with our experience, I will be leaving a review, and contacting corporate.

The staff that was working were having full conversations and sharing content in their phones with each other with customers waiting for help. But the worst was that I received a notification from U-Haul indicating that I could receive a free lock on moving day after I completed checking in online.When I tried I got a message indicating that I could not check in online and had to check in at the store I took a screenshot and showed them this, the girl helping me turned to the person next to her and said I was the second person with this issue. I was told to make a second reservation and try again then I got the exact same error the person who verified this error was someone named Nikita winters who I believe was the manager. When I asked what we should do next to honor the free lock I was promised she smirked and said “what am I supposed to do about it” with a condescending tone and when I asked if she could honor it she said “I don’t control things and are you expecting me to do something about the website? I’m not the website” she turned to her peer and just started laughing about the situation. I ended up buying a lock but will be calling customer service to demand a refund. There is zero reason to treat a new client the way I was treated. The employees seemed more interested in being on their phones than helping drive business

LATREASE M | First ImpressionsI have been using uhaul services ever year since my kid has been in college. Year 1 - no issue, year 2 issue(rat urine and feces ruined a lot of stuff. Year 3 -no issue. This year, the person was doing a hard sell trying to convince us to take a larger storage unit. I also asked about the free lock offer that was sent to my phone. She told me in order to get that offer, I would need to pay online. She has a lock in her hand, I asked is that lock free. She said no. I told her that i do not need a lock. She pushes back and says, you need a round lock. I said, I have one. She also brought out a map to attempt to sway me to choose a more expensive unit. I did not appreciate this location’s tactics.

I’ve received a bill for next month we’re told that it wasn’t closed out yet I speak to manager. When I call back manager not there or get rerouted. I’ve spoken with a work two weeks ago and toll them if I not able to come back myself I will send another to close out the storage unit. They taken everything the could out and left the rest, took the look off and gave to manager on duty. It’s the same young lady that checked up into the unit. For health reason mom had to move to California at short notice, we taken out majority of everything except paintings new kitchen table bench, gaming chair, a few other stuff it’s almost empty except for those items left behind. The last worker told me it may/ may not be a cleaning out fee of $50.00. Unit 1520 has already moved out since 04/10/2023, thanks.
bobby b | Overall ExperienceStarted off rough, when I tried to check into my reservation (booked 2 weeks in advance) the associate informed me that my unit was already sold… for some unknown reason, the system told him they had 10 available units of my size, with 3 reservations (mine included ) but he had just sold the last one right before me… luckily the lady checked it out and seen it was too small for her so she upgraded… but even though I reserved my unit in advance, I almost didn’t have one and would’ve been forced to pay extra for a bigger unit.. but after that, everything else went smoothly and easy … employees very helpful and friendly

We were given an actual empty unit that was ready for move-in after an hour or so wait. The whole process took about two hours. It was very inefficient. The staff did their best to be friendly but they were obviously overwhelmed with limited staffing at the counter.

There was a double lock on the unit for nonpayment, but the storage had been paid every month and was current. We couldn’t get into the unit at 10am when they arrived because nobody was available to remove the second lock y’all had left there and never removed. They had to wait until close to 1pm, which means it was a 3 hour set back and made my daughter move in lat me into her dorm, had my team late coming back to Atlanta, and cost us money. I will never tell college parents to use your faculty again.

A more competent staff member had to take over the transaction. Additionally, the loading zone is massive but there were no carts to make loading more efficient. When asked about this, the initially helpful staff member said to "search the complex, there are lots of carts." Despite the fact that the statement itself screams poor customer service, it was also a lie. I searched the whole space and the only carts available were mattress carts. Not very useful when moving boxes and totes. If moving weren't so inconvenient in general I would have found another vendor after today's performance.

However after driving for 3 days from NYC to Charlotte in a one way U-Haul rental, I was told upon arrival that no 10x10 storage was available. The manager was able to find a 10x15 so it worked out but I was disappointed that a confirmed reservation could not be honored. This calls into question any reservation made with U-Haul.

This was frustrating because we had to extend our moving truck for a day until we could find a new unit somewhere else.

But to top that off, when I opened the storage room (1310) it had a black box (rodent catcher) inside of it. That was my biggest problem with my storage room. I can't do rodents at all. I was told it is required in the state of NC for all storages to have; but not true because I have a current storage rental that do not have the black box. The employee told me it was not for rats, it was for the bugs that would come from another unit. Either way, I can't do rodent's or bugs, so I was not happy about the storage rental, so I cancelled my rental of the room.

Somehow my lock got cut off my storage unit door and a green tag was put on the door of my unit and per the system, I had moved out the unit. Which I didn’t move my stuff. I’m not sure if any of my stuff is missing but when I move out the unit I will inform management. I will be moving my stuff soon.

A few months later the management did repair the issues of my space and did allot me time to retrieve my items. While my bill was comp'd, I still got phone calls and emails for bill payment. I ignore them, but it is so annoying 🙄. The time frames and communication, and maintenance were not professional, but the attendants were very nice about it. I am grateful for what I could retain, but due to the amount of infestation, I did not trust the idea of nests inside of my electrical equipment and was still rendered a major loss from my perspective 💔.

I can go on and on but what's the point. Didn't get my money back. The third party loaders they were the worst they took 6 hours for a 2 bed room. The foremen said don't tell my boss just pay us directly, very unprofessional, I understand they get paid by the hour but this is not the right way. Never had such bad experience. left a bad taste. Second time with U Haul and will be the last time ever. I can go on but no point nobody cares. so I am going to leave it here. The Worst customer service ever.

She customized and arranged a plan of service for me without having met me in person, and using only information about my needs provided by phone and email. When I arrived, the arrangement for my Ubox service needs was already made available. All I can say is I wish I would have transfered to this location months ago when I was feeling stuck and hopeless at a previous location. I hope Uhaul will have customer support specialists contact customers every 3 weeks to see if relocation is what they need, as remaining àt a location that is causing one problems usually never results in problems being resolved.

We called the front desk to ask why and have it removed when a second staff member said that the first lady never switched our storage unit in the system. So I was late to work because I had to wait for the last to come and unlock the unit. She then informed me that I was not allowed to only have my own lock and that I would have to use Uhauls lock as well. Needless to say this was a bad first impression the company has made on me.

The day of moving in after packing a 27 foot truck, they had no information regarding my reservation. Thank God I took a picture of my reservation with my cell phone and it was saved in my phone. I provided them with my name and they pretended they didn't see the information. I provided them with the reservation number and now they were able to see the information. I was told, they did not have the unit I reserved. Therefore, they said they would provide me with a unit that equal up to what I reserved. I was completely satisfied until I attempted to move in the unit and the size did not equal to the size I was promised. So we had to take the items back home because the office was closed and the size did not fit my items. I rented the truck for 1 day therefore, I had to return the truck the next morning. We all know moving is a nightmare. I had night terrors with Uhaul. I called 1-800-go-uhaul and spoke with customer service and provided them with my experience and asked for the CEO's information, the representative asked me to call the location before I contact. After reading the information from Uhaul, asking me to try to resolve any disputes before leaving a feedback. I called and on hold for 25 minutes. I can't.

The staff do no care about Customer Service each time they attempted to charge me extra for something. The customer care line says they will inform the manager and to expect a call no one ever does. Its like they think resolving the problem with out confirmation is ok. In my time I communicated my actions for my move out date on the 17th. I still received a bill so I called CC told them I had moved as I had called the main line 3x already with on answer and still was charged w late fee. If you want to do business with a location that doesn't answer the phone by all means have it it!

UHaul does NOT want to take back the trailer before they close. I can NOT do any of this next day work say and have many things to do. This is a major headache and inconvenience to drop of this trailer. Many phone calls and wasted time. This would be a zero rating if it had numbers.

You need more than one person working the desk on weekends. Then we discovered a 2nd lock on our unit & had to wait again to get it off, no one knew why it was on there. TAMARA H | Overall ExperienceIt’s very expensive to rent a storage unit, and I feel as if the storage unit is not used an entire month there should be a pay differential. As customers we have to go back and make sure we did damage anything as well as clean it before returning the storage unit or truck. For example the unit I had was $104 a month with taxes, I turned my unit in maybe a week and a half earlier and just from doing my math if you all offered a pay differential I should had received at the most $40 back which like most people it could really be used. The GM at the location even gave me false information saying he could give me a price differential as well as the wrong instructions to check out the storage unit.
