Calling locations directly is very challenging. I could not get through to one to cancel a booking and when I was rerouted to support elsewhere, they kept getting the information wrong (location, when I needed the truck, etc.). I had to physically go to the location to get what I needed.

Please reeducate employee to pay more attention to what they are doing. The last person who helped me put a rental on my account from 8am to 7pm only. I was being so confident that I thought they knew what they were doimg. He even asked if I were going to return it at 7pm and on the same day and I answered no because I always rent for 24 hours, and never 11hours. Now I was charged for extra day for nothing. I am trying to dispute this and hooe they will correct theorbown mistake. Thank you.

The front desk didnt know what guys in back were doing i kept being sent back and forth with both telling different instructions.New guy was short and rude with us.Regular guy in back was very nice and accomodating . when i picked up truck gas level was wrong on paper so guy signed off on it. I went to pay and was charged for this gas. Lady said she took it off my bill and she only removed part of this extra gas. Very frustrating experience. New guy told us we had to check in on phone and we were clearly there on time . Not what you want to deal with after a long day of moving.

Trailer brakes locked up continually. It appears fluid level was low. This is the 2nd time in a row I have rented a trailer with maintenance issues. Last trailer lhad holes (plural) in the roof and leakage occurred casing damage to contents.

Had a reservation for a.15' truck. Was told the reservation was for a 10' truck. Spent too much money in renting it because you had to pay for the kms. Better to just hire movers. It's cheaper and easier

How about when a customer requests dolly's and the customer service rep. even mentions that you ordered dolly's that they tell you there NOT in the truck?? Maybe, it would be a good idea to mention to the customer they are actually in the store and you need to grab them and put them in the truck? Usually the dolly's are in the back of the truck. Also, maybe when a customer rents a truck it could be placed somewhere at least close to the store entrance and not tucked at the FURTHEST point possible away from the door?? This location, unfortunately is the closest to my home is awful! I rent several times a year and there is ALWAYS a problem! Either the truck is dirty, not running very well, I tried to order from Home Depot as much as possible, unfortunately on short notice nothing was available. Do to the fact the dolly's weren't on the truck, I need now to go back to grab the stuff that we needed the truck for in the first place.

Truck felt like it was falling apart. Gas did not match what the record said it matched. I tried to go on the link to dispute it in the link did not work. I put $50 in worth of gas which is more than I actually used. And I still got charged an additional $18 on fuel charge. awful experience

Have more space in the yard for trailer returns, outside of normal office hours. Found that the return of the trailer took longer than it should have due to uHaul staff not available, and isle very narrow for trailer return.

Rented a 15' truck. Several things I noted, which need to be changed/improved on. 1) Dolly in truck - I did not need the dolly or blankets that were in the truck and U-HAUL would NOT remove them. I was not advised of this, and did not find out until I opened the back of the truck. It was space that we needed for our move. 2) Safety - There was no safety talk or walk around the vehicle. Was not advised of how to lock back or use things, blind spots. 3) Furniture Dolly - The furniture dolly has a hole in the middle? Very bad design. I had to add wood to cover the hole, otherwise it was useless.

There is no onsite parking at all. I don't think your firm should be telling people to park in another firms; parking lot (Canadian Tire). The staff are quick and they sign you in and out in a quick professional manner.

Very satisfied with the moving service and the individuals who provided these services in Ottawa. However, the customer service by UHAUL itself just prior to the move after a reservation had been made 3 weeks prior, was very poor. Examples: last minute changes for truck up in another city 1.5 hours away with me eventually having to accept a truck at another location 1 hour away and having to scramble to pick up the truck a day earlier to stay on schedule for several other moving arrangements, being told the day prior to pick up that I was getting a different truck than what had been reserved and only when I strongly objected (Tauton Rd) I was given the truck size that I ordered at pickup time but was not given moving blankets ordered, several unsatisfactory phone calls to UHAUL during which there were lengthy delays, multiple transfers and staff who were polite but seemed unable to resolve problems due to operational system constraints. UHAUL Recommendation - Be transparent and deliver what has been agreed upon.

It was a long weekend and it was very busy so we had to all wait longer there was only one girl Natasha Harrison working in front but she Handled it very well in the future there should always be two working in the front it's a professional business and should run as such it was my first time at u-haul and i was moving from a four bedroom home and had people waiting so it took longer for the move my overall experience was not too bad truck was empty of fuel so I had to fuel up also before the move so I lost more time there also so I had to keep the truck longer I had to call back to keep the truck longer and adam was very professional people like him makes the company looks good and did take some stress off of me the move was already stressful thank you for listening

Got set up quickly ... a bit of a hick-up on the return. it seemed like the staff were there when I arrived and someone directed me where to put the trailer at 520... I backed in went to the front at 535 and everyone was gone ,,, They could have said they were closing ... not good

First off I didn't book my trailer at this location I booked it at 850 king st. E with confirmation given by email and a phone call. After a few hrs. I received another confirmation stating I could pick up the trailer at your location since I didn't receive the new location until after 5 in the evening I wasn't able to shop elsewhere the one I orginally booked was 4 mins and 3 kms away from where I live I had to then drive so far out of my way 10 km and 15 minutes away when I asked the attendant in the office I was treated poorly as if I wasn't important enough to even answer she looked at me and gave me the impression that I made the mistake I live in Whitby 8between whitby Oshawa there is a lot of uhaul sites I could have gotten the trailer from I didn't appreciate the off handed attitude that she have me a shrug dosen't make a customer feel important when had to return the trailer I arrived to a long line up and no fault to Marshall who works there he was so busy and by himself that I was upset for him and myself that your company would not have enough staff to check the vechicals in that we had to wait as if my time wasn't important or my business you really should have two people working at a time also that morning the young man I didn't get his name was barely able to move as he stated that he had been sandwiched between two trucks just before I received my the trailer how crazy is it that you run your shop this poorly

The trailer was old, beat up, dented, and very loud when being towed. The chains holding the tail gate were a confusing series of small chains that did not inspire confidence. I was glad to return the trailer. It is time to retire it.

Arrived after hours so no option to speak to anyone, so had to do this all through the mobile check in. No lock with the unit, though I was told there was one. Luckily I brought my lock from my other storage unit so it worked out nicely. Would have been a huge pain if I didn't bring my lock. When returning the truck we almost dropped the keys in the key drop without reading the notice above the key drop, asking us to take pictures of the truck. There was no light on this area so we almost missed this VERY important/required step of the truck return process (this was about 11PM, so very dark). Please install a light so we can see this signage before keys are accidentally dropped.

I use the storage unit for 6 years. In all that time I had only issues in the beginning with my automatic payment. It did take some time but they were resolved because of the diligence of the staff there. I did not choose to pay the extra fee to access my unit after 5 p.m. I felt the fees were high enough that that should be included. Like I said staff was great head office mediocre. I would recommend this storage site Thank you

I had to through away a lot of my things because there was evidence that there was rats in my storage unit. I have pictures. I reported it to the staff Saturday March 19th, 2022. And no one has contacted me about it at all. I need to be re-embursed for all the stuff that I've lost. For a company that's been around so long and that is so popular, I expected better.

I make a reservation two weeks in advance for a 26 foot truck. They didn't have any 26 foot so I ended up with a 20 ft that I got from Whitby. I am moving out of a 5 bedroom house and that was very inconvenient as we have to make multiple trips which takes longer. On top of that I rented a storage and was denied access at mins after 7pm. I called customer service they can't help. I got the managers number no answer. I am still stuck at m house with the truck full of my stuff because no access to the storage that I paid for.very disappointed 😒 😑 😔and I have to close the deal on my house today November 1st at 11:30, still stuck with a truck load in the driveway and I am not finish moving my stuff because of this. Big blow to my head I'm very stress . Thanks uhaul for bringing my stress level up.

Very friendly, helpful staff. It was a pleasant experience!! Natalie was very helpful. Unloaded my truck and trailer by myself, I was exhausted at the end and needed assistance with my 55’ TV. She didn’t hesitate and helped me! I was so grateful for her help. She was friendly and gave me excellent customer service, along with the other gentleman who helped unhitch my trailer and inspect the truck. The Taunton rd location is a very clean, organized, friendly, team oriented place!! Very pleased with the overall experience!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Unhappy with the Storage unit access system, Payed extra to access my storage 24/7 but still wouldn’t let me get to my storage after hours, Happened twice and had traveled from over 250kms away to access the storage with rental vans but with no help from either the customer service nor the manager, I was given a 50$ gift card which is nothing compared to my loss for renting the vans and the inconvenience of travel. THERE IS NO AFTER HOUR SERVICE.

I called this location prior to booking the storage unit to confirm that I would qualify for the first month free and was told I would if I presented a reservation number for my uhaul truck rental. I also called the Ajax location prior to, as that one was closer to me, but they confirmed they aren’t running this promotion so I booked with this location instead. When I showed up at the counter to check-in I was declined the one month free and was told to pay the first month immediately. I had no choice as I was paying movers by the hour and we had already showed up at the location! So I paid but I will be putting in a complaint with head office and the better business bureau. Also, upon moving into the storage facility, I witnessed another storage unit owner going through their unit and laughing as a mouse ran out of one of the boxes. The storage unit was packed with junk so it comes as no surprise it would be harbouring rodents! The staff and condition of this uhaul storage facility are one in the same - below average!

I booked on line and got the confirmation number as well for 15 x 10 x 8 storage starting January 1st 2021 but when I went on January 2nd to move my items, girl at the desk said that it’s not available and offered me 10 x 10 x 8 and she said that is the only available. There was no other choice for me and had to store some of my items in my friends grage. Very disappointed.

Very expensive compared to other places. Only took it for the free month plus the fact all the other places were closed for the holiday weekend. It was also convenient as I had to return the truck. It took forever to do the paperwork though considering I had done it on the phone when I reserved it. Thank God the staff was absolutely phenomenal which made it a bit better

This was the worse uhaul service I have ever received being a long time valued Uhaul customer. Brendon the staff at Oshawa location was not helpful but extremely rude. Even after having reserved a 10x15 storage at Oshawa location two weeks in advance of Apr 16, 2020, the Oshawa location did not have a unit. I had to go back and forth 1.5 hours due to Brandons incompetency. Furthermore, he insulted us in front of the other customers and kicked us out of the store. I will be escalating this to the top of Uhaul and cbc news channel. Additionally, this is the last time I'm doing business with Uhaul. I'll be also advising friends and family to not conduct business with any Uhaul location. Myself as a valued customer expects to be treated with respect but this was not the case especially at a time like this during the covid-19.

There were crack users and meth dealers in the halls, people sleeping by my unit. This place was terrifying and no security. The company (a guy who worked there even found it amusing) he laughed and said ya look at all the crackheads..... I'm shocked and disappointed by this. I will wait 2 weeks before sending my video viral for the world to see as well as my 50000 followers for items and places I review. I paid a lot of money for a unit I couldn't access. Extremely unsafe and unhappy customer

My unit was broken into despite being sold a lock that " no one could breach" When I was called to be informed of this break in, i was told that my unit door was open and the unit was empty, the caller said " I assume you or a member of your family has emptied the unit". I told him that was not the case; he was not helpful. Only later did I learn that my unit was not emptied by thieves.
