Did a truck share drop off after hours. The drop off location is really small. A 26 footer got there before me and took up the spot. Really had no other parking spot and I wasnt going to leave and come back next morning. I just park beside the 26 footer and let Uhaul deal with it especially learning they charged me gas fee even when I drop off the car with the same gas amount I got.Johnny N.

When I arrived at the depot there was a line up of 5 people and 1 person was working. Another person was unpacking boxes right in front of us! Wouldn't customer service be the top priority? When I did get in line I asked for a trailer to fit a queen size mattress. When I came home my husband was angry because the trailer was too small. When I went to the yard to pick up the trailer there were 4 women standing around vaping and smoking. And, a man was standing eating a banana. I told him I was picking up a trailer and he pointed to a woman who would help me. The woman attached the trailer to my SUV. The back of the trailer was not clean. I purchased a plastic mattress cover so my mattress wouldn't get dirty. The next day my husand returned the trailer. The man in the shop told my husband that the trailer was dirty and we would be charged $15. My husband told the man that we received the trailer in this condition. We have been renting trailers from UHaul for a few years now. We always go to the Ajax location. It is amazing! We are treated professionally and we have never had an issue. My only complaint is that part of my order was unavailable. I specifically booked weeks in advance to ensure that I had an appliance dolly and furniture blanketsâ€¦ And they were not available when I went to pick up. What is the point in reserving materials if they are not organized and assigned to the trucks properly? I feel like in today's day and age, with technology, that U-Haul can quite easily set up a supply and demand booking system that only allows bookings of materials available at the siteWAYNER C.

Unfortunately, Although the service was good. As a result of my reservation being double booked two weeks ago I had to extend the trip a little bit and I was led to believe I wouldn't be charged extra. That doesn't seem to be the case. In addition, When I went to drop off the truck at the designated spot the manager of that location couldn't except it has the truck was too large for their lot and asked me to drive it to another with my Dad Who is picking me up to follow behind. Contracted rental via telephone a week in advance of the date required Was asked if dolly rental required @ a cost of $5.00 I said yes When I arrived to p/u truck and dolly I was told they have no dollys and that when booking them they are never guaranteed Should have been told this at the time of booking so I could make alternate dolly rental arrangements eleswhere Im now relegated to instead pay $7.00 for the appliance dolly which I didn't think would work for my needs but took it since the flat dolly WHICH HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY BOOKED WAS NOW NOT AVAILABLE TO ME In the event the more expensive appliance dolly wasn't usefull I also rented the bag of moving blankets to slide the items across the floors if need be all because UHAUL doesn't guarantee flat dolly and doesn't tell u that And may I say what is the point of being able to pre book.them if they're availability is not guaranteed Not to mention that when imxonfirming and paying for rental on the day of the rental pick up there is a statement saying that all rental products are guaranteed Huh!TERESA M.

I have to say the self check in and out was no where as easy as made to believe. I checked in and went to skip the line to get my key, but only one person working so I waited in line. He informed me to walk up next time but hard to do with social distancing, and also didn't want to be rude to the customer he was serving. Upon after hour drop off, I put the mileage rating in repeatedly but it would not accept as it kept asking me to resubmit as the km were considered too high for the time I had it. I put juts over 400 km on in the 6 hours I needed it. Seeing I couldn't do the online check in I was charged an extra $20 for the dealer to do it. Wasn't happy but it's only $20. we scheduled the U-Haul for pick up in Oshawa drop off in Madoc. when we arrived, we were told that would not be possible with the truck we selected and told to return the truck for 5PM or face a $20 fee. or we could take a smaller truck (which would not have been big enough) and drop it off in Madoc but it would cost us more up to $1000. the drive is a 2-hour drive meaning we had to pick up the truck at 10:00AM drive to my apartment load the truck about an hour and a half process. drive it 2 hours unload the truck another hour+ then drive back 2 hours to get it back in time as it was already going to cost over $300 due to the extra 140KM of distance. Then drive 2 hours Back home. I'm not impressed considering U-hauls whole thing is being able to get a truck form one location and drop it off at another as they are for moving. So instead of a slow relaxed move everyone was rushing their butts off trying to get it done as a lot of undue added stress and money were added to the day. On top of all that there were not furniture pads in the truck. Every other time I've gotten a U-Haul they have the pads/blankets which lead to some furniture getting damaged in the move. In short what was supposed to be a relaxed price effective move instead became an expensive headache of rushing around. I will do everything in my power to never use this service again. Do not take this review out on the employees at the location they were just doing their jobs.LEONARD H.

I called this location prior to booking the storage unit to confirm that I would qualify for the first month free and was told I would if I presented a reservation number for my uhaul truck rental. I also called the Ajax location prior to, as that one was closer to me, but they confirmed they aren’t running this promotion so I booked with this location instead. When I showed up at the counter to check-in I was declined the one month free and was told to pay the first month immediately. I had no choice as I was paying movers by the hour and we had already showed up at the location! So I paid but I will be putting in a complaint with head office and the better business bureau. Also, upon moving into the storage facility, I witnessed another storage unit owner going through their unit and laughing as a mouse ran out of one of the boxes. The storage unit was packed with junk so it comes as no surprise it would be harbouring rodents! This was the worse uhaul service I have ever received being a long time valued Uhaul customer. Brendon the staff at Oshawa location was not helpful but extremely rude. Even after having reserved a 10x15 storage at Oshawa location two weeks in advance of Apr 16, 2020, the Oshawa location did not have a unit. I had to go back and forth 1.5 hours due to Brandons incompetency. Furthermore, he insulted us in front of the other customers and kicked us out of the store. I will be escalating this to the top of Uhaul and cbc news channel. Additionally, this is the last time I'm doing business with Uhaul. I'll be also advising friends and family to not conduct business with any Uhaul location. The company (a guy who worked there even found it amusing) he laughed and said ya look at all the crackheads..... I'm shocked and disappointed by this. My unit was broken into despite being sold a lock that " no one could breach" When I was called to be informed of this break in, i was told that my unit door was open and the unit was empty, the caller said " I assume you or a member of your family has emptied the unit".
