I arrived at U-haul Oshawa to find my reserved landscape trailer was damaged and could not be driven as is. In total 3 of them were not road worthy. The staff at this location went out of their way to pick a part off of one trailer onto mine so I could get going. For that, I am thankful as my day did not get ruined. It seems that the landscape trailers are in desperate need of replacement or some TLC. Thank youKEVINE J.

Improve your computerized system. There were problems three times using the system. First the person at central booking office told me that no 10 foot trucks were available in my area on the day that I wanted one and convinced me that a 20 ft one is the closest I could get unless I wanted to pick up and drop off in Pickering. I was in Oshawa. The location that they booked me into to pick up the 20ft in Oshawa wasn't opened at 10am as indicated on my reservation. I called the number for that location and there was no answer and no way to leave a message as they hadn't activated their voice messaging. Next I called the the central office, they said that they were always open at 10 and tried to contact the office also with no success. So they changed my reservation to an alternative location on Taunton Rd. Turns out they had lots of 10 ft trucks!!! So I changed my reservation to a 10 foot. Had a quick check-in and was on my way. So obviously the computer system that tracks availability regionally is not accurate in terms of what is available and times of operation of the franchises. Upon my return the gentleman had a heck of a time trying to enter the information required into the system, i.e. gas, condition, mileage, etc. He tried at least 15 times he told me. Eventually he just wrote it all on my copy of the agreement and sent me inside to close the rental. The rental woman on the desk also had a difficult time trying to enter the information and close my contract. She said that U-haul is always making changes and she never knows what the page will look like. Anyways, that's my beef. Work on your computerized system so that customers and staff aren't wasting their time and energy trying to figure it out.Irene D.

Trailer tongue was not tightened down on car hauler and ended up popping off of the hitch. Very dangerous situation and resulted in damage to tow vehicle. Person that hooked up the trailer very irresponsible and should be fired!PAULI H.

Once again the wiring was awful. Went to go home last night in the dark and the passenger side brake lights where not working. Thankfully I know a thing or 2 and was able to fix it. The last two trailer rentals had to be swapped out because of faulty or questionable wiring connections. Being told it's.ok when unit should be taken out of service and fixed is dangerous and unacceptable. To have the guy then drag his feet because you made him swap it out is not acceptable either. Then complaining to next customer due to the delay ..... This location is normally quite reliable and we.have rented there many times.GERALD P.

Even though I only had about 5 minutes at this location, I had the complete opposite experience. Gentleman who took my truck was very pleasant. I even arrived 5 minutes late and he wasn't even bothered by it. Sometimes, employees want to get home. He even made the comment â€œ he likes to stay a bit later to help people with the drop offâ€. The accessories I had ordered were not available (again). The gas was barely half full, the vehicle was dirty, the seats were covered with animal hair and it smelled of disinfectant that quickly wore off to reveal the unmistakable smell of urine.Gordon P.
The truck was not swept out on pickup The truck had barely enough gas to get to the gas station. Someone had tried to pull the key barrel out in an attempt to steal the truck some time ago this has not been repaired. It is not your fault on any of this but the damage to the exterior of the truck was quite extensive.Craig L.

Although the Taunton location was excellent, this was the THIRD! location I had to visit to get a truck that I reserved months ago. It set my timing back by over an hour. The customer support staff were rude and offered only minimal compensation for screwing up my booking. Dealing with uhaul was a nightmare. Very friendly, helpful staff. It was a pleasant experience!! Natalie was very helpful. Unloaded my truck and trailer by myself, I was exhausted at the end and needed assistance with my 55’ TV. She didn’t hesitate and helped me! I was so grateful for her help. She was friendly and gave me excellent customer service, along with the other gentleman who helped unhitch my trailer and inspect the truck. Unhappy with the Storage unit access system, Payed extra to access my storage 24/7 but still wouldn’t let me get to my storage after hours, Happened twice and had traveled from over 250kms away to access the storage with rental vans but with no help from either the customer service nor the manager, I was given a 50$ gift card which is nothing compared to my loss for renting the vans and the inconvenience of travel. I called this location prior to booking the storage unit to confirm that I would qualify for the first month free and was told I would if I presented a reservation number for my uhaul truck rental. I also called the Ajax location prior to, as that one was closer to me, but they confirmed they aren’t running this promotion so I booked with this location instead. When I showed up at the counter to check-in I was declined the one month free and was told to pay the first month immediately. I had no choice as I was paying movers by the hour and we had already showed up at the location! So I paid but I will be putting in a complaint with head office and the better business bureau. Also, upon moving into the storage facility, I witnessed another storage unit owner going through their unit and laughing as a mouse ran out of one of the boxes. The storage unit was packed with junk so it comes as no surprise it would be harbouring rodents! I booked on line and got the confirmation number as well for 15 x 10 x 8 storage starting January 1st 2021 but when I went on January 2nd to move my items, girl at the desk said that it’s not available and offered me 10 x 10 x 8 and she said that is the only available. Very expensive compared to other places. Only took it for the free month plus the fact all the other places were closed for the holiday weekend. It was also convenient as I had to return the truck.
