I booked a car hauler on line, which was suppose to have been available. Next day I received a note to say none were available, and I was down sized to a dolly. All worked out with dolly. Thankfully I did not have an issue with rear wheels on car, so the dolly was a good alternative. In future though, if I book on line, I would like to have the equipment as requested.ANDREW N.

Picked up a truck for a one way drive. Left dealer and drive a few km when warning light for a tire came on. I called they said come back and they will check which they did and tire was down 10 psi and they filled. I left and was almost to my house about a 20 min drive and light came on again so I phoned back and said that I didn't want to pack stuff in the truck that night to leave in morning with a possible tire issue. I was told this wasn't their responsibility, phone roadside assistance or customer service. I said could I switch for a different truck as I don't want to head out on a 200 km drive knowing there is potential for a problem. I was told if there was to call roadside and they hung up on me. When home I tried customer service number and message indicated a 63 min wait time so I called back to dealership. Unfortunately we didn't have a pleasant conversation as he basically said that's your truck and I can't do anything for you and call roadside if a problem. Fortunately there wasn't a problem on drive. The fact that I was knowingly sent out with a potential problem didn't set well with me and the unwillingness from the location to do anything bothered me a great deal. I have used uhaul over a half dozen times in the last 10 years and often from this location, with no problems, however, this last dealing has me rethinking the use of uhaul for future needs.BRADLEYC B.

The trucks are parked very closely together to fit them all on the site, to the point that you have to fold in the back up mirrors to get the truck backed out, and there were no staff members to assist you outside once you had completed the rental arrangements inside.Veronica D.

Contract states that the renter is responsible for cleaning vehicle after use. The previous must have used it to waste. The box of the truck smelled so bad. Like something had died. Plus the amount of small flies that were so bad they were even in the cab of the truck. Clearly vehicles are not being cleaned after each use. Not happy at all. One of the best locations I've ever rented from. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I tried renting from a "Neighbourhood" location only to find out days before my move they did not have the truck. They wanted me to drive 50 miles out of my way to another location. After talking to 9 different agents at uHaul, I was directed to Oshawa. Wow! People who actually care about you having a successful move. I will definitely rent from this location again!GREGORYA F.

It was very confusing where to drop off truck. We waited for a long time for someone to come inspect the truck. I finally started driving away because I thought nobody was coming just to be lectured by a staff member about where I need to be. We also paid 71 dollars but the total only came to 65 and I was never refunded. Also, this location is way too small for the amount of trucks that are there. The booking process online so intuitive and easy to use. Showing up the day of to pick up, equipment was ready and staff was super friendly, extremely courteous. Vehicle was clean, well maintained. Upon returning, I didn't even have to ask for a refund for the blankets I didn't use, they went ahead and refunded me. Dropping off the vehicle was super easy to, 5 minutes and done! I unsuccessfully tried to use the mobile check in. It didn't seem to work for me. I think that I got hung up in the verification process which I was unaware of. If the app indicated that you are in a queue and that something was happening it would be helpful. As it was I didn't realize anything was happening and I was unsure what the next step wasBarry W.

I originally booked for 3 days; however I realized a day before the pick up of the truck, when I went to check in online, that reservation was for 2 days. I called customer service and was assured by the agent that I spoke to that she added another day. When I went to pick up the truck at the location, the agent told me they are only â€œallowedâ€ to rent out truck for 2 days due to time of month (busy). He insisted I could get truck for only 2 days. I explained that the home I purchased had closure date of 29/09/21 and place we are moving from had closing date of 01/09/21 so I had to have truck for 3 days as new location was 1 1/2 hrs away (one way). He didn't care - he proceeded to say it was an error when I was told I could have truck for 3 days as they aren't allowed to rent it for more than 2 days and that someone else had truck booked for pick up on 30/09/21 so it has to be back by that date by 4:45 pm. I asked if he could arrange for the other person to get a different truck.. He said he didn't have anymore trucks available. He told me if I can't/won't have it back by 30/09/21, that he cannot let us take/rent the truck, even though I have a reservation. I had no choice but to tell him I will have truck back by 30/09/21. Basically he was saying I had to be the brunt if a Uhaul employees error. After we moved the first dat, I called customer service again and was told to call scheduling Dept. the following morning. I called scheduling Dept, as per agents advice. Thankfully the Scheduling Manager told me to keep the truck until 01/10/21. I was very intimidated by the agent I was dealing with st the pick up location so I was scared to bring it back a day later, as she said I could. She assured me it wouldn't be a problem so I took her name and position, in case I was intimidated further by the agent I had to deal with at the location. It was not a good experience because of 1) the error that was made with my original scheduling (giving me 2 days rental instead of 3 days requested), then when dealing with customer service telling me I was given an additional day and especially dealing with the agent at the Wilson and Taunton location, who I found was rude and uncaring. His mannerisms made me feel very intimidated. On too if all of that gi deal with, I was charged for more kilometres yet the agent who was intimidating told me I was given 700 kms and I did not use that many kilometres so not sure why I was charged fir more kilometres upon taking the truck back. I think it may have been the same agent I dealt with when h picked up the the (the one who I felt intimidated by). Very bad service snd I would definately tell my friends/family to not use uhaul due to this experience.ronda C.

Based on email received from uhaul I did the online check in to avoid face to face contact. Expected to arrive and show the receipt on my phone and have the trailer hooked up with the blankets in the trailer and be on my way. No sir you must go inside as normal and wait in line and oh by the way we don't have the blankets that you ordered and the online check in doesn't charge you sales tax on trailers so we need to charge you that now. OMG what the heck Uhaulâ€¦you are a large company.. this process should be a no brainerâ€¦.every time Uhaul makes the rental process so difficult. I should drive in and have the bar code on my phone scannedâ€¦.the trailer hooked up with the blankets already in the trailer and be on my way. Very friendly, helpful staff. It was a pleasant experience!! Natalie was very helpful. Unloaded my truck and trailer by myself, I was exhausted at the end and needed assistance with my 55’ TV. She didn’t hesitate and helped me! I was so grateful for her help. She was friendly and gave me excellent customer service, along with the other gentleman who helped unhitch my trailer and inspect the truck. Unhappy with the Storage unit access system, Payed extra to access my storage 24/7 but still wouldn’t let me get to my storage after hours, Happened twice and had traveled from over 250kms away to access the storage with rental vans but with no help from either the customer service nor the manager, I was given a 50$ gift card which is nothing compared to my loss for renting the vans and the inconvenience of travel. I called this location prior to booking the storage unit to confirm that I would qualify for the first month free and was told I would if I presented a reservation number for my uhaul truck rental. I also called the Ajax location prior to, as that one was closer to me, but they confirmed they aren’t running this promotion so I booked with this location instead. When I showed up at the counter to check-in I was declined the one month free and was told to pay the first month immediately. I had no choice as I was paying movers by the hour and we had already showed up at the location! So I paid but I will be putting in a complaint with head office and the better business bureau. Also, upon moving into the storage facility, I witnessed another storage unit owner going through their unit and laughing as a mouse ran out of one of the boxes. The storage unit was packed with junk so it comes as no surprise it would be harbouring rodents! I booked on line and got the confirmation number as well for 15 x 10 x 8 storage starting January 1st 2021 but when I went on January 2nd to move my items, girl at the desk said that it’s not available and offered me 10 x 10 x 8 and she said that is the only available.
