The employees were great, no issues at all... The truck was the biggest hunk of junk I've ever driven. I have rented Uhaul for years and never had any problem, hence why I keep coming back. But this truck was terrible. It made very loud noises, had no power steering fluid, brakes were shot (or so it seemed, and at one point the light came on) and it was just filthy. I dont like to write negative reviews, but this was really bad. At the end of the day, it got the job done that I needed it to do, but it was just a bad experience for me overall, I won't lie.NICOLE M.

I would strongly suggest that you withdraw your business from 'Four Guys/Ritson and Eulalie Ave Oshawa. The I rated this location 000000 for costumers service; I almost release a tape of my experience at this location. I sure apologized for the disrespect your employee received from this individual on the telephone as they tried to help me get the truck that I booked a week in advance,that was parked in the parking lot as I was being humiliated by the Uhaul representative in the store. Your booking system is terrible. The website is very unfriendly and your phone lines all require about 20 minutes of listening to overly loud music and reperated messages of how busy you are. After I booked a trailer at a place on king st I had to try calling various places to ensure my reservation would be ready since I did not get a phone call confirming it. Finally I got someone and found out that the place I booked it at (since the website did not allow me to select the place near me) was NOT where I would be picking it up but but I would be going to The Taunton rd location where I wanted to be in the first place. If I had not spent about an hour confirming my reservation I would have gone to the place where the website sent me.TIMT O.
The online check in process takes far too long - reservation was for 12pm and despite being there on time - we had to wait for 25 minutes before we even had the key for the van.Jeffrey C.
Despite choosing to pick up and return with the use of my phone, we were unable to pick up and had to go into the store to pick up. Knowing we could return the truck with my phone, we opted to do that. We arrived at 7:04pm, and again, were unable to do so. It was 4minutes after closing, and the staff were so rude when I asked if they could help with my app because it would not let us submit a photo of the odometer and gas reading. When answering the return questions on the mobile app, the question asking â€œis the vehicle clean enough to be rented to a new customerâ€ should have more options. Because if you answer â€œnoâ€ due to normal usage at the end of the question, the invoice summary adds $25. Can you modify the question in order fir a better end of rental experience.CHRISTOPHERK M.

The truck I rented still had 2 dollies tossed inside the back of the truck both lying on the floor. There was also a U-haul blanket tossed there as well. The previous check-in was not done properly. Because of this, I was charged a 2-day rental for a dolly that I never used. These 2 dollies were in my way for the entire move and they should not have been in the truck.STEVEN L.

We had to fetch the truck from the far back lot after finding it buried behind a bunch of other trucks. The truck was also out of gas upon picking it up which is just plain lazy on UHaul's behalf. Your mobile app check in failed at the point of taking a photo so I had to check in at the desk, the lady gave me a sheet clearly marking fuel just below the Full level, and said bring it back to the level it was given, no one told me to take a photo of the gauge or something like that, upon return the check in guy wanted to give me a fuel charge because it was not full completely but I had actually filled it a little over where it was given to me, he asked if I had a photo, no one told me to document this, so I had to now go get in line to check out to dispute the charge, they gave me a hassle at the desk but returned the charge claiming it was busy when I picked up and the instructions might have gotten lost, but I did what I was told which was return the truck with the same level I was given. The procedure around this should be improved, I suggest a person coming to the truck with you to verify the fuel level at hand over.THOMASALEXANDER K.

Double booked 15' truck I originally requested. Could only get a 10' truck. (Thankfully I made it work) No apology from location, simply a laugh and "this is not the first time". Perhaps Uhail should fix the issue and not have staff unprofessionally laugh it off. Fuel on contract did not match truck and I mentioned to store, they said just had to mention on pretrip sign in. Still got charged for 'not filling' to level. To be honest, overall just an extremely poor client experience. U-Haul needs to work on customer service. Simply terrible. Showed up 20 minutes early, for the â€œ24/7â€ check in so I could start the process early. Tells me I have to wait till 9am just to start the process. No lockbox, have to go into the store to get my keys... So my â€œcontactlessâ€ pick up turned into waiting in the store for 15 minutes, since the lady rented my first truck to someone else. Finally get the keys to the next truck, turns out the new truck was double parked behind another truck. I thought renting my truck two weeks in advance would avoid this. Turns out that uhaul like making the process painful. Renting a uhaul once more next weekend, if it's another mess, I will go for Penske moving forward.Victor M.
Staff are not training in customer service. I witnessed a staff speaking to another staff member in a disrespectful manner. This was an inappropriate interaction in front of a customer. When I returned the next day for drop off I witnessed a staff speaking rudely to another customer. Although neither of these situations involved me I was witness to these behaviours. Better time slots to rent and policy communication and license scan didn't work , I had a choice of 7:30 then 9am nothing in between and was not aware of the 1hr window after which equipment could be given away. See pick up box for my review.. I forgot to add my Order was canceled by a CS staff member in a snit when I reacted to having to drive 100Kms to pick up a trailer. I never authorized a cancellation. This location had the BEST customer service of all U Haul locations I have used. The staff were courteous, knowledgeable and went over and above to provide excellent service. Equipment was clean and operated. In the check in process they were the quickest and most efficient of all U Hauls I have used. I will ALWAYS go back there. They connected my trailer, they answered all my questions, all lights worked on trailer, check in process easy, office / showroom clean with well stocked and well laid out inventory, trailer lot well organized, spacious and clean 10 out of 10.David S.

There needs to be Parking on the lot for customers who rent. Engine light came on during rental period. I would rent from another location next time. Rental agreement was incorrect as mileage was not correct. Luckily Uhaul as a business stepped up and correct the mistake so I was not over charged. I called this location prior to booking the storage unit to confirm that I would qualify for the first month free and was told I would if I presented a reservation number for my uhaul truck rental. I also called the Ajax location prior to, as that one was closer to me, but they confirmed they aren’t running this promotion so I booked with this location instead. When I showed up at the counter to check-in I was declined the one month free and was told to pay the first month immediately. I had no choice as I was paying movers by the hour and we had already showed up at the location! So I paid but I will be putting in a complaint with head office and the better business bureau. Also, upon moving into the storage facility, I witnessed another storage unit owner going through their unit and laughing as a mouse ran out of one of the boxes. The storage unit was packed with junk so it comes as no surprise it would be harbouring rodents! This was the worse uhaul service I have ever received being a long time valued Uhaul customer. Brendon the staff at Oshawa location was not helpful but extremely rude. Even after having reserved a 10x15 storage at Oshawa location two weeks in advance of Apr 16, 2020, the Oshawa location did not have a unit. I had to go back and forth 1.5 hours due to Brandons incompetency. Furthermore, he insulted us in front of the other customers and kicked us out of the store. I will be escalating this to the top of Uhaul and cbc news channel. Additionally, this is the last time I'm doing business with Uhaul. I'll be also advising friends and family to not conduct business with any Uhaul location. There were crack users and meth dealers in the halls, people sleeping by my unit. This place was terrifying and no security. The company (a guy who worked there even found it amusing) he laughed and said ya look at all the crackheads..... I'm shocked and disappointed by this. My unit was broken into despite being sold a lock that " no one could breach" When I was called to be informed of this break in, i was told that my unit door was open and the unit was empty, the caller said " I assume you or a member of your family has emptied the unit".
