They were short staff on a Saturday morning in the office. Which meant a 30min + wait outside to get in. I checked in online, but a lot of others didn't which made the line move slowly. The associate who connected the trailer to my Nissan pathfinder was excellent. He really exceeded my expectations. I have forgotten his name but I believe you can identify him and recognize him for his superb service. He has a strong British accent.KWAME A.
Believe trailers need to be inspected better. Experienced a tire blowout with the rental, Road side assistance took 2 hours to get to us. two tires were replaced on the trailer. We were told that we were lucky the 2nd tire also did not blow. Safety of customers should be paramountTIMOTHYP S.

The main issue I had with returning the vehicle after hours was that nowhere on any paperwork could I see about whether the truck took diesel or regular fuel. I ended up giving up and not filling it up so I had to pay extra for the fuel.Andrew B.

I had a problem with your system trying to overcharge me for fuel. On pickup, I inputted the correct level on your online tool and uploaded a photo showing the level to be just over 1/4 tank. I drove 8.1km and put more gas in it than I started with ($7.50 worth). The system said I took it out with 1/2 a tank and assigned a large fuel charge for bringing it back over a quarter. If I wasn't paying attention I would have overpaid by a lot. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or a scam, but I'm not impressed.Michael M.

When I arrived to pick up the truck I parked my vehicle in an empty spot but then was treated very rudely by your employee moving the trucks. He told me that I had no rights to park where he was about to park the other truck. I moved my car to the back of the lot to accommodate him. Then I tried to do the the web check in only to be told that in Canada it does not accept Canadian credit cards and therefore I had to go into the office to complete my rental. What's the sense of having a web check in if it does not work completely? Then the computer in the office wasn't working properly!! As for the truck itself, the passenger side mirror would not stay in place and kept folding in with the wind as I drove. Very dangerous and inconvenient to keep stopping to adjust the darn mirror.Ricardo C.

The trailer we were giving as absolutely terrible. The latches to close the back gate were full of rust and you had to loop it through the hole and pull the rust chain for it to not come undone. There were no latches(hooks) at the front inside the trailer which made it almost impossible to secure your load near your vehicle.Michael Q.

I called this location prior to booking the storage unit to confirm that I would qualify for the first month free and was told I would if I presented a reservation number for my uhaul truck rental. I also called the Ajax location prior to, as that one was closer to me, but they confirmed they aren’t running this promotion so I booked with this location instead. When I showed up at the counter to check-in I was declined the one month free and was told to pay the first month immediately. I had no choice as I was paying movers by the hour and we had already showed up at the location! So I paid but I will be putting in a complaint with head office and the better business bureau. Also, upon moving into the storage facility, I witnessed another storage unit owner going through their unit and laughing as a mouse ran out of one of the boxes. The storage unit was packed with junk so it comes as no surprise it would be harbouring rodents! I went to the store, the agent told me the pick up was outside across from us. There were 2 pick available. It was raining. I went outside took pictures of the 1st vehicle, that was not the vehicle, took pictures of the 2nd vehicle that was not the vehicle. Had to go back in the store the 3rd time to let her know that was not the vehicle. She then told me to go down to the storage and turn left and I will find the vehicle. By then I was wet and cold. Vehicle seat and inside was dirty and smell of smoke. The customer service was below sub par. I should not need to go through all of that issue to find one vehicle.MARVETTEM M.

Go somewhere else. Anywhere else. This place is a scam. I had no damage on my truck and they charged me for it. Thw cab was filthyandcoveredbin dust and the floors were dirty and I was charged a cleaning fee. I purchased the insurance and had my truck broken into and $3400 worth of equipment stolen and they did nothing, correct that the guy said "that sucks". Then he continued on and over bulled me for stuff I wasnt responsible for. HEED MY WORDS DONT GO TO THIS PLACE. THEY ARE CROOKS.JASON W.

I was continually nagged by the location manager to return the unit because they claim I was not allowed to have it on my lot which is the reason why I rented it. I was told by head office that it was find to keep but still was harrassed by the location manager. I will never use Uhaul again.trina D.

Trailer was in good shape, but it was caked in dried mud on the front and driver's side upon pickup. The pre-inspection app showed a clean trailer, however it easily allowed me to amend that with the actual situation using my phone. 24 hour 1 800 number needs to be better managed. I had to bring my rental back late and could not log on u haul com share site. Called 24 hour number and waited for 58 min on hold before I recieved assistance. By that time I was almost home and I didn't know I had to take pictures of return. -was told to find the truck on my own. -looking for 10 min then asked for help. - help was telling me it's in the row where I already looked. - I looked again. - Couldn't find it. - my gf drove to the back lot and found it behind another truck - I asked for help (asked to move the truck in front of mine so I could get out. - waiting for the truck to be moved for 10 more minutes - they came back with a different truck with hardly any gas, the check engine light was on, and the driver door did not shut properly. I originally rented a flat bed however a day before was told they were out and a tow dolly would be just as good. I drove 8 hours just have to come back without my vehicle. The item was not useful. Terrible vehicle!!! As soon as it hits 60km the truck shakes uncontrollable. It's a Hazzard to drive and for other vehicles on the road. Other cars honking difficult to control and stay on the lane. Very very disappointed in this truck. I paid a bit over $200 it wasn't worth a dime. When back at the uhaul Taunton rd the return vehicle guy rambles on how to drive it.. turn off heat etc are you kidding me. Jeopardize my life and my passenger. Then went inside to pay the $24 ish difference on my bank card I tell the inside man it's a terrible unsafe truck. He says yes we know it's an old truck.!!!!!!! What!!!!! Why are you renting it out???,, it was 26 ft truck. Went from Oshawa to Blackstock and my rental apt is in Ajax. Do you know how nuch traffic there is on the road. My relative is a durham police officer I was about to phone him to complain and he could of followed me back to Oshawa uhaul. Never never never again. These trucks need to be 4wd in Canada as getting around in the snow is very difficult and very irritating considering you charge top money for these trucks as I can rent 4wd from other rental companies for almost the same amount with unlimited mileage .JAMESR B.

Van was buried in snow. We had to search for it in the lot and clear a foot of snow off with our hands. Upon returning van, the guy wasn't friendly and we had to go into the office and wait in line for 10 min to return it. We had good service here before and was not impressed this time.ROBERTG W.

The only thing that I would say wasn't the best was the drop off. I waited quite awhile. Then I went in and was told just drop it any available spot. I went to unload it and the yard guy started yelling for me bit to unload there. I booked on line and got the confirmation number as well for 15 x 10 x 8 storage starting January 1st 2021 but when I went on January 2nd to move my items, girl at the desk said that it’s not available and offered me 10 x 10 x 8 and she said that is the only available. Very expensive compared to other places. Only took it for the free month plus the fact all the other places were closed for the holiday weekend. It was also convenient as I had to return the truck. This was the worse uhaul service I have ever received being a long time valued Uhaul customer. Brendon the staff at Oshawa location was not helpful but extremely rude. Even after having reserved a 10x15 storage at Oshawa location two weeks in advance of Apr 16, 2020, the Oshawa location did not have a unit. I had to go back and forth 1.5 hours due to Brandons incompetency. Furthermore, he insulted us in front of the other customers and kicked us out of the store. I will be escalating this to the top of Uhaul and cbc news channel. Additionally, this is the last time I'm doing business with Uhaul. I'll be also advising friends and family to not conduct business with any Uhaul location. Myself as a valued customer expects to be treated with respect but this was not the case especially at a time like this during the covid-19.Moez H. | First Impressions
There were crack users and meth dealers in the halls, people sleeping by my unit. This place was terrifying and no security. The company (a guy who worked there even found it amusing) he laughed and said ya look at all the crackheads..... I'm shocked and disappointed by this. My unit was broken into despite being sold a lock that " no one could breach" When I was called to be informed of this break in, i was told that my unit door was open and the unit was empty, the caller said " I assume you or a member of your family has emptied the unit".
