The gentleman who helped give me â€œdirectionsâ€ as I backed up my truck to hook up the auto transport trailer didn't know what he was doing. He only waved his fingers toward himself, in a sort of â€œcome hereâ€ motion. He did not indicate if I needed to shift right or left to line up the ball and hitch. It would have been helpful if he indicated which directions I needed to change and when I needed to stop. He also let the break connection cables hang and didn't hook up the chains correctly.WAYNE B.

trailer strap was broken for one of the tie downs, trailer positioning for the car is too far forward for a 4000lb car. Trailer was clean otherwise ans staff was friendly. Had I not already owned and used my own tiedowns I would have been not able to use this trailer.THOMAS W.

The only negative is that the man who put my furniture dolly & hand truck in the back of the truck, DIDN'T CLOSE the back & the hand truck FELL OUT, but as I left the parking lot (thank God)! -A person behind me on the road closed it, but didn't know the hand truck was missing till I got home. I panicked thinking it fell out on the road, and NOBODY FROM THE STORE CALLED TO TELL ME OTHERWISE! I tried multiple times to contact them but phones were forwarded to CS (& they were NOT busy). Finally, a CSR emailed them about this, asking them to call me...STILL NOBODY CALLED. It wasn't till I returned the truck that the guy who checked me in at the bay said, "it fell out in the parking lot," but I wouldn't be charged. OK great, but why wouldn't someone have called me so I wouldn't have worried? - He didn't know the answer & said the manager would be in on Monday. We needed the wiring harness for our vehicle. At this location's suggestion we were sent to a bunch of different Uhaul's to go find what we needed. At the second Uhaul place they were able to look up on their computer the precise Uhaul we need to go to to get the part we needed. If The Alameda Uhaul would have done this in the first place it would have saved us so much time, money, and travel time searching for what we needed.Joseph Z.

Had reservations at 8 am, I even did the on line check in to no avail. Got there at 8am only to have to wait almost an hour due to the fact that there was only 1 person working until a second employee arrived ( possibly from a break or just starting for the day).Although I rented the van for a 24 he period, I still lost time due to the fact that it took so long to get checked in again, was still charged .85$ a mile and also put over $27 in gas before I return it. This was a very bad and expensive experience, since I only used the van for a few hours I really think that I should receive some sort of discount. With that being said, I've used UHAUL before when I relocated back to San Jose in 2018, and that pick up location was great and very efficient.Michael J.

I had reservation at 1:00pm but waited 30 mins to get my van. I was services by The manager which came from the back of the store. He gave me the keys but didnt walk me to the van. I found my van by myself, tried starting it and realized it had low tire pressure. I went back to the manager to find that he was at the back, fixing a subaru forrester, which doesnt seem like a uhaul property. He said it was normal because of the cheaper tires used. I drove off with the van afterwards. I realized that the furniture pad i rented wasnt provided and i had to drive back to pick it up. Overall the experience was bad and the service can be betterKEESHEN Q.

The movers were vary late, for a very good reason but I add this because when they got there as fast as they could. They emptied out the truck very quickly and professionally. I would maybe suggest more text communication between the moving helpers and the customer. I had to call them a few times to get updates. Again they did well.Brian D.
