Poor choice of a ‘mandated’ pick-up site. Not very customer friendly at the desk(male attendant) or with scheduling. Pre-call never happened when site pick-up was changed, nor the Corporate support when called the Sunday before!! Is Service an oxymoron?

**U-Haul Review Response** We are extremely disappointed and highly upset with the service we received from U-Haul. We paid **$109 for a truck that we had for only about 7 hours**, yet we were still told we would be charged an additional **$75 for two extra hours**, even after explaining that this was supposed to be a **24-hour rental**. We only drove approximately **30 miles**, and the final cost was around **$175**. That is completely unreasonable and unacceptable for the amount of time and mileage involved. We expected honest, straightforward service, but instead we felt like we were being overcharged for something that was clearly explained at the time of rental. **Very disappointing experience, and definitely not the level of customer service we expected from U-Haul.** We hope management takes this seriously and looks into what happened.

This location is all the way across town from me. I depend on trailer rental rentals for my business because I can’t afford to purchase one yet. I was forced to go to this location because in the computer said they were the only ones that had the trailer that I needed. When I got there, the trailer that I needed was not there and I was told there was nothing that they could do. I asked for a cargo van, which usually does not have miles attached to it, but they told me that I would be charged for miles. I was forced to take a open trailer instead of an enclosed one, and because of that some of my equipment got damaged This is unacceptable, when someone makes a reservation, the equipment should be there.

Customer service. The person who checked me in/ out today was not personable, acted annoyed to serve me, and had a dry yet condescending attitude when asked even simple questions. When I was checking out, I followed him to the truck to have it looked over, and he started walking away while saying “you can get your receipt at the printer.” I said “… where is the printer?” He replied in a snarky tone that it was near the register, as he continued walking away.

Have been using the services of U-Haul at that location to close to 3 years. I rent Cargo Van's or 10 Ft Trucks for business frequently. This time around sales clerk not very friendly, asked questions that were never asked of me before in all the times I have rented there. Truck was dirty and smelled, rear light was hanging. Just over a 1/4 tank of gas. This one was not good.

Never asked to help unhook the 6X12 trailer and it is very heavy as I am a 65 year old coming off a move. Thought the experience was very poor. Unfortunately I didn’t get the name of the person who was helping me, but he was super patient with me while I was trying to fix my trailer light connector, and even provided me some tools to make my suffering and embarrassment faster and easier. I was able to fix my connector really quick (thanks to his cutters and electrical grease), and this great guy installed the towing dolly and explained how to use it before and after I get the car on it. Also, he was super nice with explaining how to return this dolly after store closes. Great experience and even better people working there! 10/10

When we arrived at the location at 8:55am, there was a group of 3 individuals waiting toward the rear of the return area and one other gentleman waiting. When the clerk opened the door, I let the gentleman to go ahead of me since he was there before me. He mentioned to the clerk about the 3 gentleman and in a very unprofessional tone "I take care of the people at the counter they'll have to wait." His whole tone and body language was not customer friendly. Clearly, he wasn't happy he was working alone, and my expectations were there would be more than one clerk on duty to handle customers with reservations for 9AM, since while he was taking care of me 3 other customers got in line.

Use something stronger than a zip tie for the dolly. I had my own dolly and that truck on the Thruway was so shaky that when I dropped off the trailer and took the picture of the zip tie broke and now I’m probably going to be charged for a dolly.

The location is nice, vehicles are really well maintained and parked nicely. The driveway needs to be sealed but other than that its a nice place. The people who work here are nice and seem professional. Overall, expierince was good. The app does not work when you go to add pics of front, sides and back it stops the whole process and I have a picture of where it stops. I have had the same problem with app on two different phones. But other than that, the whole process and this location are great. Make sure you take pics of front, sides, back, milage and inside the back of the truck you rent for your own personal proof. YesI would recommend this location to others.

The employees at this location go above and beyond expectations. I thought I left mt personal keys in the rental van and these people jumped into action and contacted the next renter of the van to check for my keys. As a senior citizen, most of us do not "do" apps and the app was not loading on my Android phone. (It kept saying "Loading,...Loading...) Mara was professional and caring, she assisted me to get the rental contract completed in a manner that satisfied an older person who does not use apps. Mara provided clear instructions and follow-through. Mara deserves a merit increase and recognition for her customer-service focus. My only comment is that Mara could smile more! Thank you.

I paid for this storage unit for several years and when the decision came for my family to clean it out and consolidate what was in there, we were unable to use the dumpster located at the facility to get rid of what we were no longer keeping. After paying several thousand dollars to use the storage unit to then have to rent a truck to dispose of our garbage soured me on the whole experience and I will not recommend U-Haul storage to people as there are many other options available.

I came here specifically because online it says if you rent a truck, you get a month free of the storage unit then when I got there, I was told it was online thing only and not at that location. then I was specifically told that I could come and go at any time throughout the night into my storage unit that I had paid for and when I got there, it was locked and closed and I had to wait till six in the morning to get my stuff into the storage unit. I was only there for 13 days to use the storage unit was very unhappy with the whole situation. I feel like I should get my money back or some of it back because I wasn’t even there for a month and I paid $150 for a storage unit that I didn’t agree to I asked for one that you can pull up to and she completely ignored me and gave me one in the way back corner that you couldn’t pull up to. I will ever come back to this location or use it as storage unit at U-Haul ever again and I won’t recommend it to anybody ever!! Very unhappy and disappointed with everything here

I really appreciate the employees at this facility. They were super friendly and very helpful. I’m in a big transition in my life and wasn’t quite sure how to handle moving, but they went out of their way to help me and answer all my questions! Only negative comment I have is that management of this U-haul facility clearly allows people to rent their units as a places of business, which has always been illegal in other states where we have lived. One business unit (I saw them working and moving product every time I went to my storage unit.) is right next to the large access door, so ingress/egress was always very difficult for me; and their cars were always blocking that dock door as well. However, I’m not giving a lower rating because everyone was kind and respectful whenever I asked them to move; I simply should not have had to do that every time (literally) I went to my storage unit.

I was super disappointed in the storage facility. My unit was covered in cobwebs and debris. It was absolutely freezing inside with no good lighting so it’s dark in my unit. If I hadn’t just paid $130 for a U-Haul!to move it all in, I wouldn’t have unloaded all of my belongings into the space. I will definitely be using the next month to move somewhere better. I moved from a storage unit that was $75 a month, indoors, beautiful facility to this for almost double the price. Not worth the price- I’m very upset.

Elaine is the manager ,and she is an exceptional ideal employee always willing to help with any problems, love this location at 6161 Transit Rd. Highly recommend this location. You have to wait ,and be patient staff is short and times are changing nothing is as it was but the staff that is there working hard to make sure you get what you need, thank you for being so helpful !

I’m sorry I don’t know their names, but one help me check in and get everything arranged; the other helped me get a very large and heavy item into my storage room. Great site and the staff was awesome. However making the reservation was a pain. I was told that I could do it online but the site will allow multiple ppl to make the same reservation. So I called - waited over 2 hours on hold and finally got to talk to someone. This made me think that I had the reservation. When I went into the store the next day, the staff told me the same thing - I still might not have it since the system allows multiple ppl to book the same space. Luckily I did get it - but that’s a really frustrating and upsetting system.

I have always had a pleasant experience at this facility! The only reason I moved out was it was no longer necessary for me to house my belongings. The people at the registers were always very friendly and helpful. I would choose to do business with again, and will definitely recommend them to friends!

There was one problem. In this facility, there is a drive-in option to get you out of the weather. Very nice, out of the weather and close to the storage unit. The issue is the floor is finished in a gloss polish. When I stepped out of my truck, my foot slipped and I fell to the ground. My while I understand the effort to keep the facility clean, I would suggest changing the floor finish to a "sand imbedded or textured" surface. Other than that, great people, gre3at site.

Used the "rent now" feature online to receive "free" disc lock. Unit was locked with a padlock and no "free" lock was provided. Employees stated that it was not included and I had to purchase a lock for $10 - 12. Other than the awful 1st attempt to get my unit, things are great. Just glad I didn't try to access the unit after 7 without any assistance for this debacle.
