I had a reservation for 2 weeks. To move to a new place. Got there 15 mins ahead of time. I had to wait one hour and 16 mins til I saw someone and got the truck. No AC in the building. I had 4 friends waiting at my house to help me move. I rented for 24 hours but returned it back in 6 hours. Waited 15 more minutes at equipment return before anyone showed. The person who helped me wasn't at all helpful and barely communicative. She did not explain at all that if I put more gas in the tank than needed then Uhaul would not reimburse. I was give. 3/8th of a tank to begin with and left it with 7/8. It cost me $130 to fill the tank. I honestly think this is grounds for a class action lawsuit. I will never use Uhaul again.JONATHAN B.

Had me wait almost an hour with a reservation before I was all set to leave with my uhaul. Then, the passenger rear lights did not work at all and the chain that the employee put on the back was so low to the ground it wore away on the asphalt halfway through the trip and had to be replaced. Worst uhaul experience I have ever had. It's amazing I didn't get a ticket or hurt from someone hitting my car because the back lights on one side, including right blicker of trailer were out.Jenna W.

The mobile return process did not work on my phone at this location, but the people there got me checked out fairly quickly without it. Thankfully I was there during business hours. There was only one bar of service at this location and the U-Haul site kept having the same error message and logging me out as I tried many times to upload a photo of the vehicle for check-out. On May 27th, I made a reservation for a 15ft truck for May 31st. On the way to pick up the truck, (15min before the scheduled pick up time) I was called by the location and informed that there were no trucks available and that I should call the 1800 Uhaul. The representative offered no help for finding another truck. Now I had already made plans to move and I had to be out of my place on the 31st. I called the 1800 number and was connected with a really nice agent. She apologized for the unprofessionalism of the location and offered to help by connecting me to another number. I don't recall the department but upon speaking with this new agent she was very rude. She offered no help and said that the online availability of this location is never really updated (not my problem). She didn't even offer to comp mileage if I have to rent from another location. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said she was the manager. Then after not solving my problem she said she'll connect me with the manager of the location I initially made the reservation at. After being on hold with him he finally found a 15ft truck. When I showed up to te location there were multiple 15ft trucks which was pretty infuriating. I really only had a short window to move because that's when my friends were available to help me with the move. Overall very unprofessional experience I had with uhaul. The silver lining was that I got a truck. But I seriously doubt I'd rent from uhaul again. Moving is stressful enough as it is and I don't need the added stress of not having trucks available when I made a reservation.Joshua W.

Horrible service, I asked for a one-way rental and the idiot gave me an in-town rental. Not only charged me the increased mileage fee but the return fee on top of that! Also charged me for a dolly which wasn't in the truck I called and they said "well you should have checked your contract" when I specifically told the woman at the counter we are leaving it in the Lake Charles area. Why would I rent an in-town uhaul for well over 100 miles anyway? Reporting this location to the BBB!Joseph S.
We waited, starting in a line behind 7 groups; for over an hour. The location was under-staffed, and although possible to open another register, only provided one person to check in customers. Another staff member roamed about and even walked the line to make sure everyone had pre-reserved; but that person did not open another register to actually help people get processed. I made a reservation the night before for a 15' truck, when I arrived to pick up there were no longer any 15' vehicles and I was instead given something larger. There needs to be more than one person behind the counter. The person working when I was there was competent, calm, and friendly, but still It was almost a half hour wait to get checked in. The person behind me was just trying to buy a couple of boxes. Surely there could be a rental checkin counter and a separate purchasing counter to make things smoother for everyone? Reserved a 4 bedroom storage or 4 room storage and when I went to put the furniture in the storage unit was a closet. I talked to the manager Brandon Pierre and he was very rude and said that’s all they had available. I stood talking with the associate before he even came out the office and his office is literally one step away. We went back and forward about the storage not being a 4 bedroom unit. He said the person that helped was working from home and didn’t know what sizes the storage units are, I told they should have knowledge of anything they are selling from uhaul. Brandon gave me a refund on the storage but I feel I should get a refund for the truck that I used and loaded for nothing. Tulane Ave. UHaul is very unprofessional and unorganized. When changing over ownership about a year and a half ago, within 10 minutes someone backed a U-haul truck into my car and caved in the driver door. The reception was unhelpful and said they could not check security cameras and I was given a contact number to call. No one answered this number or responded to my voicemails. Moved out of storage unit. Told store desk employee and followed their instruction. I was getting emails about my stuff being there and my payment was late. I called and told them I moved out. I got emails about stuff going up to auction. I called and told them I moved out. I left a few things because I could not get them. I told desk employee. I even asked if they had somewhere I should throw the few things I had left. I have asked multiple times to speak with manager. Waited on phone for hours multiple times for almost a year. Was told he would return my call ever time after being placed on hold for unrealistic amounts of time. Was told he was hooking up trailer, filling up propane, checking truck, over in storage. None of these things should take almost two hours. He has never returned my phone calls. My account was sent to collections for over $1400. I am so disappointed and disgusted with the staff at this facility. I did everything I could to get this matter straightened out. The employee instructed me wrong. Had I known this would happen of course I would have done it differently. The manager avoids his duty to speak with customers and discuss important matters. I would not recommend this facility at all nor any Uhaul facility if I can not get this off my credit history. I should not have to pay for a storage unit I moved out of. I am giving excellent because the staff was very pleasant and helpful. I do have a problem because in the description of the storage unit it said 5xx8x10 and it is not that it is 5x8 at the front but it drops down to 4 or 3 foot. I really needed a storage unit as advertised. I will need to get into the storage unit often. I do not want to have to go and have to remove everything or close to everything just to get items out and put it all back just have to take it all out again to put it all back. I did not say anything the day I took possession because I was extremely tired and did not want to lose my temper.
