I made a reservation the night before for a 15' truck, when I arrived to pick up there were no longer any 15' vehicles and I was instead given something larger. I asked if I could have a smaller truck and was denied despite there being several in the lot. This made navigation, moving, and filling up the gas incredibly difficult.Maverick S.

6 X 12 trailer I picked up was probably the best one I have ever got from UHaul, and I have probably rented at least 8 or 10 in the past 10 years. It had brand new tires on it which was comforting. There needs to be more than one person behind the counter. The person working when I was there was competent, calm, and friendly, but still It was almost a half hour wait to get checked in. The person behind me was just trying to buy a couple of boxes. Surely there could be a rental checkin counter and a separate purchasing counter to make things smoother for everyone? i had ordered my van to be mobile pickup but when I got there the system had changed it to counter pickupKarianne G.
I had done an online check in when I reserved the truck then modified the reservation and it may have taken the online check in part off when I edited it on accident because when we got there it was not working so we had to wait in line for over an hour. The desk staff was nice but it took so long In there with only 2 people working the counter and the truck we had had a busted headlight and felt unsafe to drive. The movers we booked through the haul website were the absolute worst ever too. I would not go to this location again. I recommend the UHAUL on St Claude.Sequoya Maria L.

Rented a truck with a transmission that was on the verge of going out . When i picked up the vehicle the gas gauge was on 3/8 of a tank , drove a total of 12 mi and put $15 of gas in. the needle didn't move ,put in another $10 still didn't move , put in another $20 and the needle move back to 3/8 . Told them at Uhaul the gauge was broken they simply shrugged . Not doing business there again .GARTH H.

The price was ridiculous in Louisiana to return to Texas. Another customer that day did the exact rental coming from Texas to Louisiana and were charged around 350, but I was given a price of 900 +. Wow. I arrived at Uhaul 12:45 and didn't leave until 2:38 for some reason equipment along with paper work continued to be the issue. I was very disappointed in the way Uhaul chose to take advantage of me in this situation especially since I have been a customer for years.Takelia C.
The primary issue I encountered was related to a one way return of a trailer. One of the Uhaul employees helped me unhook the trailer from my vehicle, and promised to email me an invoice indicating the trailer was returned. I will take some blame for trusting this would happen. In hindsight, I should have insisted that he check the trailer in and give me a final invoice before I left. By the way, I returned the trailer a day early. Two days later I received a call from Uhaul wanting to know when I was going to return the trailer. Over the next two days, I had at least three different phone conversations with customer service and asset recovery about the issue. I had already traveled back home (in another state), but had my son go by to take pictures and videos showing the trailer at the return site. After 3 days of fielding calls and emails, Uhaul finally acknowledged the unit had been returned, and closed out the rental agreement with no further charges. My suggestion for Uhaul is if their system shows a unit has not been returned, contact the Uhaul site designated for return to make sure if return unit is physically on their yard BEFORE contacting and harassing the customer about the return. Lesson learned......next time I won't leave the return site without confirmation their system shows the unit returned. Also, be sure to take pictures and videos so you have proof.MICHAEL G.

The unit that I rented seemed to â€œrattleâ€ when I would hit the slightest bump. Maybe the cargo box siding against the cargo box framing? Reserved a 4 bedroom storage or 4 room storage and when I went to put the furniture in the storage unit was a closet. I talked to the manager Brandon Pierre and he was very rude and said that’s all they had available. I stood talking with the associate before he even came out the office and his office is literally one step away. We went back and forward about the storage not being a 4 bedroom unit. He said the person that helped was working from home and didn’t know what sizes the storage units are, I told they should have knowledge of anything they are selling from uhaul. Brandon gave me a refund on the storage but I feel I should get a refund for the truck that I used and loaded for nothing. Tulane Ave. UHaul is very unprofessional and unorganized. When changing over ownership about a year and a half ago, within 10 minutes someone backed a U-haul truck into my car and caved in the driver door. The reception was unhelpful and said they could not check security cameras and I was given a contact number to call. No one answered this number or responded to my voicemails. Moved out of storage unit. Told store desk employee and followed their instruction. I was getting emails about my stuff being there and my payment was late. I called and told them I moved out. I got emails about stuff going up to auction. I called and told them I moved out. I left a few things because I could not get them. I told desk employee. I even asked if they had somewhere I should throw the few things I had left. I have asked multiple times to speak with manager. Waited on phone for hours multiple times for almost a year. Was told he would return my call ever time after being placed on hold for unrealistic amounts of time. Was told he was hooking up trailer, filling up propane, checking truck, over in storage. None of these things should take almost two hours. He has never returned my phone calls. My account was sent to collections for over $1400. I am so disappointed and disgusted with the staff at this facility. I did everything I could to get this matter straightened out. The employee instructed me wrong. Had I known this would happen of course I would have done it differently. The manager avoids his duty to speak with customers and discuss important matters. I would not recommend this facility at all nor any Uhaul facility if I can not get this off my credit history. I should not have to pay for a storage unit I moved out of. I do have a problem because in the description of the storage unit it said 5xx8x10 and it is not that it is 5x8 at the front but it drops down to 4 or 3 foot. I really needed a storage unit as advertised. I will need to get into the storage unit often. I do not want to have to go and have to remove everything or close to everything just to get items out and put it all back just have to take it all out again to put it all back. I did not say anything the day I took possession because I was extremely tired and did not want to lose my temper.
