A few issues: -there was no mention of U-haul's new policy regarding expired drivers licenses (which are permitted by the province due to the pandemic) -the online booking was terrible and inaccurate as I had wanted to book a one-way trip. I was able to do this online, but was then called and told I couldn't, so had to pay double the mileage -the vehicle was out of windshield washer fluid - a potentially major safety issueKYLEDOUGLAS S.

The truck was not ready for pickup at the scheduled 7:00 am and was blocked in by two other trucks. We had to wait for two hours in order for somebody to move the trucks out of the way so we could begin our move.Evan C.

I request the receptionist to drop off the truck in Richmond Hill. She said I cannot as I did not book it that way. Since I was coming from there I had to come back all the way to Hamilton to drop off the vehicle. She suggested on the spot to make another booking, and the rep on the phone called me from a 905 number in Hamilton and said the closest vehicle available was all the way far east close to somewhere in Kingston. So I could not get that vehicle. I walked back to the receptionist , She said she cannot give me the vehicle as she did not trust me that I will bring the vehicle back by 9:30 which I had initially booked for because the lady on the phone also called her and told her that she cannot give the vehicle to me. Since we are in the medical field and it was time sensitive I insisted that I get the truck and promised her that I will return before 9:30. The lady on the reception was blatantly rude and told me that if I did not return I will charge you for 3 Customers after me and I will never be able to rent a U-Haul. My overall experience was pathetic and I will never be renting a U-Haul for any of my needs. And specially this location the customer service was absolutely pathetic and more so the lady who called me from this number (905) 573-6006. There are more options out there which I'd like you to be better than this. And trust me I'm gonna spread the word. Just for your information, the truck was returned at 8:15 PM an hour and 15 minutes before my time was over.MOHMEDFAZILSABIR V.

Do not rent from this location. I showed up at 1130 to pick up my truck, after asking for a second piece ( which I didn't have on me) due to my license being out of province, the clerk did not want to help. I asked him to call uhaul to see what other options were there, he said a lease agreement would suffice to which I responded that I just bought a house here and I have the paper work. He refused to accept this. I asked him to call uhaul to which he told me I can do that myself. I told him this is bad customer service which he did not like snd then proceeded to cancel my order and tell me that he's not serving me. While we were arguing, the clock turned 12 and he said, â€˜ sorry we are closed now' and proceeded to go to the back. I called uhaul and they said there was nothing they can do but to send me to a different location. The staff was incredibly rude, disrespectful, racist and refused to help, even when I had the second piece I.d. This guy canceled my order because he didn't want to help and call uhaul to get clarity on a simple ask. One of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATIONAHMED MARWAN S.

Paid for 24 hours requested return in 4 hours so tit could possibly be available to another rental. Manager provided too cub company information hiring and firing cleaning up the Location etc. Biggest concern is she took a photo of my drivers licence with her phone which I find a total breach of my identity no explanation given and what happens with it from there big issue for me. The door to the cargo was extremely hard to shut. It sticks at the last couple of inches. Needs two people with all their strength to shut it. Luckily I had a friend with me but definitely would not have been able to shut it alone, and I've rented many u-hauls and had no problems with these doors before.Christelle T.

The only small inconvenience that was encountered was I did not know I was going to need my drivers license to rent the trailer. My husband was driving, so I didn't bring mine. He has a truck license and due to covid lockdown has not been able to write the test to renew his license. Meaning his is expired. It is not invalid according to the police. Therefore he could not rent the trailer. Thankfully we were close to home so I was able to get mine. If U-Haul could identify that proper ID will be required to rent, and if U-Haul could make license exceptions during this unusual time it would be helpful. I will know for next time, and it wont be any problem. I will continue to use U-Haul in the future as I have 3 kids in university, and they need to be moved back and forth. Thank you.LESLIEM K.

Right from the start U -Haul acted like a company trying to scam me out of money. The price quotes for mileage kept changing from miles and kilometres. Initially, I was quoted something like 0.69 cents a kilometre but when I had to book online it turned into $1.11 per kilometre. I had to straighten that up over the phone. When I picked up the truck the mileage charge changed to 89 cents a kilometre. After Arguing the price went back to 69 a kilometre. It appears to me that if a customer isn't paying attention, we all could be scammed by these practices. Also , the local U -Haul gave a phone number to contact them. When I dialed that number, I was put in contact with a U - Haul contact center. I just wanted to ask a simple question, not be placed on hold. I hung up. In my opinion, I would best describe U -Haul as gangsters trying to squeeze the customers because the prices kept changing.Russell D.

Efficient application of various contactless features, as well as the ease of placing reservation online really improved my overall experience. In the future, a suggested improvement is to ensure a higher level of fuel when picking up the rental truck for convenience... Sadly my truck only came with less than 1/4 tank of fuel!Alan L.

This last experience was terrible. The young staff were overwhelmed the manager or owner whoever he was refused to help them. He was rude to them and treated them like they were a bother. The young female staff talked so much she slowed down an all ready bogged down line and they somehow managed to put a driver in a truck that was registered to another clients credit card! Definitely turned me off from using this location. The manager/owner left his staff to drown and it was terrible to watch!ROBERT D.
