Out of the 7 people on staff on Sunday 7/26/26, only 3 of them know what they are doing and care about there job. Secondly, the truck I was given is in poor shape. It squeaks when it drives, the transmission doesn't shift properly and the AC smells like old cheese. My reservation was at 9:30 and I didn't get out of there until almost 11am, and it really set back our day of moving. 10 out of 10 would NOT recommend

Saturday was an absolute nightmare. Trucks were not available. We waited an hour and a half to receive our van. App wasn’t working, several others had a similar issues. Your employees there handled it with grace, this was not their fault. Fully on corporate not scheduling enough people and not having the trucks available. I will do everything in my power not to rent from u haul again, that was an absolute nightmare on an already stressful move on day.

I believe the employee's name was Carl. People were waiting for hours to get their rentals because the system was down, and customers were also having issues with the app. This employee was stellar and kept his cool even when people were getting snippy about issues that were out of his control. Excellent service. U-Haul's network/software issues leave something to be desired however...

I have rented from U-Haul many times and from several different locations. This location was by far the worst! We waited in line for 45 minutes to check out our previously reserved cargo van. While waiting in line, we checked in on the app and found an employee in the lot who was willing to help us. He found our van on the lot and tried to check it out for us, but it wasn't allowing him to do so. He went inside and turns out it was the man at the checkout counter who had given the van that was being held for us to another customer even though we were there (on time and actually 15 minutes early) and in line. Knowing I just had a 4 hr window with this van, I had scheduled all of my pick up and had people at three different locations waiting for me to help me load and unload things and being 45 minutes late to everything due to the line and also the inability to actually use your app as intended was an incredibly frustrating experience which will have me looking elsewhere (Home Depot?) for my next rental.

After returning the truck, I received a rude and threatening voicemail by a man named Scott at the location accusing me of not returning the truck key. He berated me saying there were 2 customers waiting for that truck and if I didn't return the key immediately, I would be charged an additional day. I called back and spoke with customer service who stated they would inform the location that they were mistaken. I then returned to the location to discover that the worker whom I gave the key to was found to have had several keys still in his pocket.I was informed that I would not be charged anything. However, I would like an apology and for management to actually hear that voicemail.

Poor guy running the shop was all by himself, place was packed. Gentleman kept his cool and worked worked worked and kept his upbeat nature and finished the job!! I don’t remember his name and my paperwork is not with me right now. You guys should look him up and give them the gold star… a raise.. some more people to work with him…. Don’t let him get away!!!

Could not open the key box without assistance. Return processed is very unprofessional. I returned the van at 0830 hours. The final bill stated vehicle was returned at 1:00 pm, therefore, charging an extra day. I was also charged a cleaning fee for $25. THE vehicle was cleaner than a babies bottoms. It's things like this that make me go to other companies. If UHAUL wants to play these games my business will go other places. When I tried to call about the the fake charges no one answers the phone at Washington blvd. If you return a vehicle at this location, wait for the attendants to check the vehicle or you will have fake charges put on your CC. This is horrible UHAUL will rip you off if you let them. Waiting on a refund now. It funny how your CC is charged before your out the door but refund take forever to post. BEWARE OF FAKE BUSINESS PRACTICES. I WONDER HOW THEY TRAIN THEIR EMPLOYEES???

The app for self service does not work well. I tried to opt for pick up at the counter when I made my reservation but got a notification that all pickups are now contactless. The app could not scan my driver's license and after finally going through, the truck that was assigned to me was parked in and could not be moved. I still needed help from two different employees to change the truck assignment and get the keys. What should have taken ten minutes took nearly an hour. The employees here were helpful. Hire more of them.

Poorly organized. First they couldn’t find the key for the rental on pickup. But, mostly problematic at drop off. We were in the parking which was not marked with where to return truck well before their posted closing time. A male employee with sandy brown hair and a mustache snapped, “Well, since it is passed closing(when it in fact wasn’t) you may as well just use the drop box. When the instructions from a QR code did not work the female employee working at the time just kept repeating call 1800uhaul or go online. When I asked if she could take the keys, she looked at me like I just spouted devil horns. Overall horrible return experience and very rude employees.

The Pittsburgh U-Haul office is horrendous I am still having issues with charges appearing on my card with no record or receipt. My boxes were lost and not delivered I had to pay laborers x2 because your office delivered ny boxes to the wrong place. The issue was not resolved in a timely manner. My items and furniture were broken and the delivery driver was great, but everything else was a nightmare.

Lots of folks dropping off at the same time during the day, so left the truck in the line at the attendant’s suggestion and did the self checkout to avoid the wait. Hoping for the best, but a bit nervous I should have waited in line. If it works, it was super convenient at what looked like a big professional hub location.

Customer service was not nice. A very cut and dry, condescending woman at this location, unfortunately I didn’t get her name. I interacted with her at the beginning and end of my rental time. I don’t think if I ask a question to you as customer service, you should not have to clarify that you aren’t being facetious towards me. Be clear and not rude in the first place. As someone that has rented from this location multiple times, this was the worse service I’ve received.

I waited about an hour for my rental truck to be ready. When I first arrived, the door to the front desk was locked and said "will return in 15 minutes" but after waiting for 15 minute, no one ever came. Eventually, we asked one of the employees working on the trucks to help us out and over the span of 40 minutes, he was the only employee to be kind enough to help us get our truck out. The three other employees (who did not seem eager to fill in the front desk position) did absolutely nothing even when the one employee who helped us told them to do certain things. I would recommend getting a manager who can get things in order and please pay these employees more and hire more staff.

The truck was having some obvious transmission/engine issues. It wouldn't start after we unloaded it (took several tries, almost called AAA) and then once started it wouldn't shift into gear until it hit a really high RPM. It "revved" in traffic when slowing down but wouldn't accelerate properly either. The front seat was wonky and the seat adjuster was hard to find and use. The truck was very clean but it needed some engine maintenance and felt a bit unsafe.

Very unethical. We rented a cargo van, which seemed new given the low miles on it, but the inside smelled like smoke and the outside was already severely damaged. We sent clear proof in the report beforehand of all the damage, but afterwards we were still charge roughly $1,200 for “damages” which was removed. That said, this location just filed an insurance claim against us for damages that were not done by us on this van.

The receipt for contract number is 29831224 is showing a fuel surcharge of $31.80. I would like to dispute this charge. When i received the vehicle the gas gauge was on 3/8. And I returned the vehicle with gas on 3/8. This receipt has been manipulated to look like there was more gas when I received the vehicle. And the receipt also reflects that I returned it on less than 3/8, which is also FALSE. Please delete this false charge and send me a final bill with remaining balance or account credit so we can finalize this matter.

I did this and returned after one day but was still charged for two days. I called and had to wait 20 minutes to deal with it. Not even sure it was refunded. Very upsetting

Get some people to work at the site. Forcing people to use an app just doesn't work. When I went to pick up the truck, there is a small, hand-written sign that said "Mobile pickup only" and about 5 people waiting in line to get help from the single harried clerk. Luckily I was able to use the mobile pickup option, but would prefer not to.

Everybody there was very kind and courteous, and very knowledgeable. We rented the U-Haul to move my son from his apartment to a house, and the day happened to be my birthday, so I brought the lady that waited on me a piece of birthday cake because she was so nice :-)

The location manager and staff were so friendly and very helpful! The location was very well supplied with anything and everything that you would need for moving. Easy in and out too with plenty of unloading space into the storage unit. We only needed our unit storage for one week but the security and access was perfect. If we ever need U-Haul services in Pittsburgh area again we will not hesitate to reach out to this location first!

I used the storage for 5yrs at the cost of 203.00 a month the payment was taken out of my checking account every month. I never had a problem with the manager. After moving out of the storage I received a call from someone who identified his self as assistant manager starting I owned a month, was very rude and told me that he would hang up on me.because of that alone I will not refer anyone to you.

The manager there, Joshua Barone, was extremely helpful. My reservation had to be altered and so they gave me a perk on the truck and assured me that the truck and storage space are available, and when there was a hiccup, he immediately drove over to the storage unit and assigned me a new one. He had given me his card so I had someone to contact for immediate assistance, in case of anything. Moving is stressful, and he was a source of peace on my moving day. Thank you Joshua!! Best U-Haul/self storage experience I have ever had (and I’ve had a lot). So grateful he was there. Also, the guys with One-Stop moving co. were also great, very polite and fast.

The facility is immaculate and the unit was also, I just don't recommend the upper units if you have heavy items, appliances, etc to store. Definitely chose a unit on ground level. Beyond that, I would rent storage units at this facility anytime.

The staff when I moved in was quite condescending, asked unclear questions during the check in process (have you moved in to the storage unit already, they meant the online move in process but I interpreted it as physically moving in) and showed visible frustration when I didn't correctly answer the question. They generally talked down to me for the interaction. I had also bought a lock because I was unaware the unit came with a free lock. When we arrived at the unit, the staff member took the free lock back with them because I had already bought a lock. On move out, my move out request was not processed for a week. Only after I got a warning that I would be billed for another month and I reached out to the manager did my move out get finalized.

Lots of confusion among the staff here. I cleaned out my storage unit and they said they would close the account, but they never did and I was charged an extra month even though unit was empty and I had done everything I was supposed to do.

Asst. Mgr. Mike Nardozzi was very helpful and great to deal with. He secured a double storage unit for us, near closing hours, when we showed back up with a loaded T 20 moving truck because the final destination was unexpectedly occupied, beyond our control on 7/29. We came back 8/4 to complete the move. Mike also stopped by to check to see if our unit was satisfactory and working out for us, on his way home from Washington Ave. store on 7/29. I would use this location again without hesitation. Thank you.

This experience would have a higher rating except that 1) I wasn't told the unit wasn't pull up and that stairs were required to access it - until after the contract was signed. there is no lift or ramp in the facility; 2) Uhaul connected me with a moving team to help get the things up and told me they were booking them at a 2 hour slot, but that it would be prorated for the 30 min that i needed them for. When they arrived they said their was no prorate and that has never been the case. I asked the Uhaul office about this and they said that I have to call Moving Help to resolve. For a busy person, this is not ideal to have to chase this down and make sure the costs were as promised. I tried to call once but the wait time was long so will try again.

The staff at the Washington Blvd facility didn’t have an idea of the processes there! When I had questions or wanted to close my contract they didn’t know how to respond. They asked among themselves trying to find out how to do their job. Very disappointing experience.

Two staff couldn’t find my online reservation and had to be processed as a walk-in; am concerned about double-billing. The first building access code provided did not work. The call button on the door did not work; had to go back to the other store to get help. The actual building has water-logged hallways and smells like a dead body.

The issue isn't whether or not the storage facility had enough light or if it was clean enough either my issue is I paid the cost $124 for the month which was due November 21st was only in there 1wk and what you chose to refund to me was $2.81 of that which was paid. U-Haul Moving and Storage on Washington Blvd is a hard working storage and truck rental business. The staff is on point and knowledgeable. The Eastside of Pittsburgh where this U-Haul store is located is in a very difficult area and neighborhood. Vince the Manager, Helen T. also know the area and how to deal with the residents and customers. Along with the rest of the crew the U-Haul on Washington Blvd is a valuable and necessary part of the community! I wouldn't trust my items for storage or truck rental to any place else! U-Haul Moving and Storage on Washington Blvd...You're the TOPS!!!!

The office wasn’t open. I didn’t know that the dolly wasn’t placed in the rental truck prior to leaving. There was no way that I could get one during the hours that I moved. We had a hard time getting furniture into the storage unit as a result. The employees were friendly and professional. Ultimately we got everything done. It was not an easy task though.

I am authorized U-haul dealer in Pgh, but due to unforeseen circumstances. I had to close temporarily, I've had to deal with the Washington Blvd. facility for over 18 months. Their Manager Vince Beviquila and Helen Terry and staff have been very accommodating and professional and have help us throughout our ordeal. I recommend them highly.

Don't get me wrong. I love U Haul and have been renting trucks from you guys for as long as i can remember. I do have to say, the storage rental experience with you guys was not a good one. First off I reserved an outside/drive up unit but upon arrival i was informed by the girl at the office that there were no more outside,drive up units available and was given an inside 2nd floor unit and was told this the only unit available. There is a set of 12-14 steps you had to climb to get to my unit. This was excruciating having to move a three bedroom house having to climb these stairs with home furniture. This facility should be equiped with ramps. You guys supplied carts but what's the use of carts when you have to climb a flight of steps. Long story short this made for a very long and strenuous moving day and another one on the move out. Install ramps guys PLEASE!!!

Special thanks to the manager, Vince, for taking time explaining and showing the facility. We were impressed with the cleanleness of the storage as well as the bathroom available to the renters. It was cleaner than the average roadside restaurants.

The U-Haul was over heating. Once I got to the drop off location I was assisted taking my car off the auto tow and my number ripped off. The storage was small and had bugs in the building.

The workers are rude and not at all helpful. The storage units on the 2nd floor are hard to access, no elevator, and there were only 2 carts available. I definitely expected more and do NOT recommend.
