LAZARO RThe associate charged me for insurance even though I specifically requested not to have it. He claimed his boss says it’s mandatory. I read the contract. It’s not mandatory. The vehicle was very new and clean, but smelled like cigarettes. I reported the cigarette smell to another associate who simply ignored me and said he would email me my receipt.

FRANCISCO R | Overall ExperienceI recommend that you carefully check the fuel and mileage data when you receive the car, because no one delivered the car to me and I did not notice that the fuel tank was marking what they told me in the contract. I only drove 8 miles and had to put 15 dollars in fuel in order to reach the contract value. The mileage traveled with the fuel used is not reasonable.
ARIEL GIt was recommended to walk around the rental truck which I did. I did not unlock and open the sliding cargo door on the 20 ft truck I rented. When I got to my destination I could not get the door to open. I had To use a crowbar. I had a very tight timeline to load my things and leave. I had No time to take the truck back for help. I had To battle the cargo door the entire rental time. A friend pointed out there was no cable on one side of the door which is why I couldn’t get it to open and closed without a great deal of effort. I hurt My back as well. When I returned The truck to the store I brought this to their attention and was told I should have inspected the truck as suggested. I did Inspect for dents and scratches as I was Told at another U-Haul rental from the weekend before. As far as I’m concerned the rental should have been comped due to the extreme difficulty I had but instead I was Just told I should Have inspected. There is no quality control in place to let a truck be rented with no cable to safely open the cargo door. Minimally I should not have to pay for this broken truck.
JOAN DA very clean and well-maintained facility that I was extremely happy to use. The only reason I vacated the storage unit was because I relocated my residence and I needed a storage facility to where I relocated. I would recommend your facility to anyone living in Tampa near Waters Avenue. 😁

John SWe returned the truck after one day though we reserved it for 2 days. We did not feel it was safe to drive and were afraid it would break down while using it. After we returned it and checked the invoice we noticed that we would have been charged per day for blankets and caddy. We also one used one of the 2 packs of blankets we requested but were told if we ordered it we had to pay for it even though they were still wrapped and untouched. Frankly these seem like poor business practices. We had planned to rent a truck again the week of our move but will not be renting from UHaul. The most disturbing part was when we told the person that the truck had issues he said: Yeah we run them until they can't run any more and then replace them. I'd prefer to pay more and feel safe while using a truck. Based on this experience we will never rent from UHaul again.

JORDAN HI gave this U-Haul an average score because it was not above average or excellent. The first day I came to pick up the U-Haul. I waited in mine very long time, even though I had already checked in online, which I thought was a way to speed up the process. When I finally did get in line by transaction ran rather smooth The person who was at the counter next to me had been there long time and they had double booked his U-Haul, which caused me great concern, knowing that that is something that could happen at this place. When I initially booked this U-Haul I had only planned on having it for 24 hours, but due to some personal stuff I had to extend it another 24. Which was fine, but on the same day that I was supposed to return it a level 5 hurricane hit the city I live in. I was forced to keep the U-Haul and extra two days and was told that both of those days fees would be waived though neither one was and now I have to call and get that figured out. Because of the hurricane, I was forced to evacuate the city and wasn’t sure that I would be able to have it back on a Saturday morning that I was supposed to have it returned. I received a call from Tina and she left a message saying to please let her know if I wasn’t able to because another family was coming in right after me which also causes concern that it’s booked so close together And couldn’t get it back by 8:30 please let her know and she would extend it another day. I called right back and no one answered. I was sent to an answering service who then transferred me right back to the same U-Haul and a gentleman answered who was extremely rude and basically went back completely on what Tina had told me. He pretty much had no sympathy for my plight and only cared that it would be returned for the next family. When I first started writing this, I was going to say yes I would recommend it and give it an average score but after seeing everything and writing, I am going back now and changing that. I would honestly do everything I could to avoid using this particular U-Haul in the future.

Luego me llamaron 3 días después preguntándome cuando iba a entregar el camión y el tráiler. Adicional a eso me cobraron 60$. Con eso demuestran que no tienen un control.

Yasmir G | Overall ExperienceI rented a van for $19.95 here and estimated I would drive 20mi in total costing me around $38 and some change. Upon leaving the location the van had been filled with 7/8th a tank of gas. I drove 33mi over the estimated 20mi (which is charge at 0.86cent per mile - costing me an extra charge of $38, which was completely understandable). The problem comes in with the fact that upon return the manager and the guy working outside attempted to charge me a total of $80 dollars and then on top of that tried to tell me that I did not fill the tank back up to the agreed amount. Mind you one of the other workers was sent out to confirm that I had only driven 33mi over (equating the extra $38 charge) and to confirm that the gas tank was filled to the proper line in which she confirmed and identified that it was. Horrible location with horrible customer service from the manager and equipment return workers. The other two ladies who were there (Makayla and another were awesome! Only good part of the experience)
DESTYN Rby far the most empathetic positive and upbeat location I’ve been to. moving is hard as it is and they always remain positive.

They are organized so the rental process is smooth. Their trucks are well maintained and always clean. Their staff are very knowledgeable and professional. They have been my favorite rental store for many years, and I highly recommend them.

CARLOS SEverything was great but on my way back I brought the U-Haul and the guy that revived his name it’s Sebastian I left some parts from a bed by accident and he broke them, when i get back to see if I found it it was in the floor broken they should call people when things like that happen the same way they call when the U-Haul it’s not there
