I requested an appliance dolly with my rental. Called ahead to make sure I'd be all set. I get there and check in, the guy checking me in makes no mention of not having any appliance Dollys. When your moving and reserve a truck and dollie and they run out of dollies and don't bother giving advance notice it's hard to hump boxes vs using equipment you reserved ! Too it off they charged me for the dollie!James W.

The last thing someone wants to hear or receive news the Uboxes are not going to be delivered as scheduled because a broken fork lift. This fork lift broke prior to Ian. Now, it isn't determined when they will be delivered. Best. Have a working fork lift delivered to the location (Florence, SC) so the job(s) can be completed. Totally angry with Uhaul at this moment. For not solving a problem immediately. They couldn't give an estimated date. That is the worst.Anna M.

The U-Haul web site gave me a price for a 5-day/9-hour rental (5 days but dropped off at a later hour than the pickup time). When I came for the pickup, the charge was higher, for 6 full days. They honored the printed reservation price (which is how you got the 5-star review) but that's a very deceiving delta that needs to be corrected.Bob E.

On Saturday when I went to pick up the rental, I was having issues with my card . Noah and Carlos where very helpful and helped me resolve the issue with my card. An they where both very patient with me as I was working with my bank to remove the hold. After about 3 hours of resolving my bank card issue I was finally able to get the rental. As much as I wanted to tip Noah & Carlos for there above and beyond help they told me it was against company policy. I will be using u-haul again in the next few months. A woman rung me up when checking in and I had a couple random questions about the trailer that she did not know, but a nice young kid named Noah took over the transaction and came out and helped me with my trailer and any questions I had, he was great, and I will be back again because of his outstanding customer serviceMattew R.
My pick up time was 7 a.m., uhaul opened at 9. After speaking on the phone with uhaul for 75 minutes, I was given a code to a lockbox where the key was to be. All lockboxes were wide open, no keys in there. This reservation was confirmed three times. Not once were we informed of the lockbox, key situation or the store hours. Would've been fine if there was a key in the lockbox!!!!!! I had hired movers waiting for me and was delayed by two hours to begin the move. To add insult to injury, uhaul offered me a $10 credit for my delay. Are you kidding me? Poor business tactics, poor management and poor communication by uhaul. I will never use them again and will spread the word.morine F.

There were no elevators and my unit is on the second floor. This was not communicates to me, and there were signs in the building stating there were elevators. But there was nothing. I use U-Haul 3-4 times a year and they always meet my expectations BUT yesterday I was assisted by a gentleman (I don't use that term loosely) by the name of Ed. He was polite, courteous and went out of his way to make sure that he not only covered all bases but that I completely understood them. I have a small trucking company of 40+ years and know the value of a committed employee. I found his input refreshing to say the least. When he told me that he had been on the job for less then a month I was taken back... I had him pegged as a life long employee of U-Haul. DON'T let him get away!Warren N.

My original rental reservation - corporate - was inncorrect . Needed a 6 x 12 open trailer not a box. original site did not have that unit & had to go to Abington site. Abington was more aware of protocols for Corporate reservations & Brockton switched me over to the retail side to hold the open trailer at Abington. Hopefully their is no glitch on the paperwork or charge to my personal CC. Sites need to be more adept at dealing with corporate contracts even if is just getting on the phone to a quick responding line to do any change or corrections. Cost me 2 extra hours & waiting staff the same. The top railing on the 6x12 open trailer had a broken support. Still usable but not good tie off point for load.Dennis M.

Pros: Friendly staff, state of the art facility, responsive customer service Cons: First time going to pick up a reserved truck (this was in Hanover) I was told the truck I reserved was not available, because it needed service. I rescheduled my reservation for the next Thursday (I had to take the day off this time). I showed up for the reservation and was told the truck I reserved was not available, as it had been returned lat the previous day. I was offered a smaller truck. I accepted it, as I needed to get my move done. I dropped the truck off and found out the next day I was charged for another day, as the clerk did not mention the mobile check-in. I was also charged for the larger truck size I had originally reserved, but did not get instead of the smaller size I was given. UHaul customer service straightened the problem out promptly. So - clear communication regarding procedures, and keeping a few extra trucks on-hand are things UHaul should work on.Adam C.

My uboxes were moved from Weymouth to Abington and I was never notified. I was only aware because I placed an AirTag in each box so that I could track it. We had two major issues. First, somehow changing our warehouse location canceled the trailer reservation for my moving help and there were none available on my scheduled moving day. We had to push back a day and our movers had to drive further to pick a trailer up at a different location. This issue cost us an additional $275 in moving fees that Uhaul needs to reimburse us for. I would appreciate someone calling 801-493-5457 or emailing me at email@example.com to resolve this. Second, one box was not scanned into Abington's system. Our movers were stuck waiting for them to find it and the Uhaul representative wanted me to just forget about the entire box and lose all of my items. Luckily I knew it was at the Abington warehouse because I could track it, so they searched again and found it in the warehouse. I don't know what would have happened if I didn't have a tracking device in the box.Darian R.

My shipping location was changed from Weymouth to Abington and I was never notified. I was only aware because I had an AirTag inside of my Ubox. Otherwise myself and my moving helpers would not have known to go to Abington to pick up the boxes. The Abington warehouse also lost one box and only really searched for it after I confirmed several times that I could see it located in the warehouse with my AirTag. Very unprofessional and we had to pay our moving help an additional $275 because of the change in shipping location. Uhaul should reimburse us at least the $275 for all of these issues.Darian R.

Good experience beginning to end. The only "improvement" I would suggest is to supply the truck with a full tank of gas - it's difficult to refill it to 3/4 of a tank. I also wish rental trucks had some features that have been available on cars for a long time, like backup / rear cameras and built-in GPS.PETER S.

I was accidentally provided the vehicle transfer sheet - the vehicle I was provided was listed as â€œneeds shop repairsâ€. The vehicle I was provided also did not have functioning AC (comfirmed by the representative at the drop-off location). The considerable damage already present on the vehicle was not a big deal, though I have no idea if it was safe. There was a fine coating of white dust in the storage portion, which covered most of my belongings. The vehicle I was provided should not have been rented out without shop repairs, A/C repairs, and a thorough cleaning.SEAN C.

This is not a complaint for the Abington location, but more for the U-Haul process. Why allow people to make a storage reservation when it doesn't guarantee anything. The employees at U-Haul helped me solve the issue, but U-Hauls website and customer service made me believe I had secured a storage unit. My issue was with the reservation. My location was moved based on availability i was told online an associate would contact me to confirm location since equipment where i preferred was unavailable. I didn't not receive a phone call but instead a text after business hours so when trying to reach customer service was on hold for an hour and 5 minutes before my call â€œwas droppedâ€. Called in the morning 4 times before pick up to inquire about a closer location all times told no, no matter me telling them how far it was, that if i didn't want that truck i would be cancelled all together. I also asked if i could return the truck to a closer location to me and was also told i could not. Before i dropped off the truck i called to complain about the mileage I would have to pay for and i was told unfortunately i had the option to decline the rental (which i didn't my things had to be moved by that day), and she couldn't help me. When i returned the truck next day i heard the gentleman ahead of me ask if he could return his rental to a closer location and was told sure we'll find the place closest to your zip code. I was livid what would have been a 5-7 mile relocation was actually an over 30 mile move that was none of my fault. It's like a rip-off. I'd rather hire movers. Although the location was clean and friendly my customer service on the reservation end was bad. There should be accommodations for people that have their reservations changed without their approval of locations that have to drive out of their way. The facility has storage options that involve the customer climbing a ladder for access this is silly, unsafe and not clearly explained in the website. The staff was very helpful but extremely slow to the point of annoyance. This was after I had pre registered online to save time. Staff advised me to get a certain type of lock but then did not have any in stock for purchase I had to buy a lesser lock and hope my things are safe. I have never been able to make my swipe card work. Therefore, every time I unlocked my storage unit, alarms sounded. I reported this issue to the office in at least 3 occasions but still, the alarms kept sounding.kathleen b. | Overall Experience
We were a paying customer since the place opened. We were given 30 days notice to leave because UHaul wanted to use the space for other priorities. I didn't have any where else to store my vehicle. After talking to a woman in the office trying to see if there was anything that could be done, any other space on the property I could move to or if she had any suggestions of what to do or where to go, I pretty much got the cold shoulder and was told to vacate. I have been a customer for over 2 years and pay automatically by credit card. My credit card got hacked and I brought over the new one which was added to my account, but old one was not deleted. Auto payment was declined on old card, so I was charged a late fee. Again, came to office and the desk staff deleted hacked card, it then accidentally deleted my account so had to set up a new one. I then paid for the month , but then got another late fee notice. In the meantime , every day I get 2 emails from you asking me to say why I left and how did I like being a new customer.
