The mobile checkin return process is still failing since the last return I made in may 2021. The allow location features are set but it does not recognize it's turned on. The store contacted me this morning to advise they have performed the return.KEVIN D.
The equipment was clean. The problem I have as with all the 6x12 trailers that I have rented from U-Haul this spring and summer are the trailer brakes are too sensitive. This last one being the worse. I tow a lot of trailers. This one was terrible. The slightest bump would engage the brakes. I tow with a 2001 Tahoe and this trailer even when empty would jerk the vehicle back and forth. This is very rough on the hitch and possibly transmission. These trailers are not set up correctly and should not have brakes engaging in this manner. If this is not fixed when I rent the next time, I will go elsewhere.ROBERT F.
The limited number of available dates for drop-off and pick-up was a significant problem. We were very fortunate to be able to get a pick-up date closer to what we needed. The original date would have been very close to our closing. The long delay after our arrival at our new home was also a problem. The truck had a dolly locked in the back which I did not need. It was actually in the way of the couches that I needed to load. So I disconnected it and placed it up in the front of the truck and never used it. I was charged for the dolly even though at drop off, I was told they would not charge me. I spoke to a really nice man at this location today and he fixed the issue. Otherwise an excellent experience at a really good U-Haul location.JOHN P.

The web reservation app automatically populates quantities of anticipated supplies, dollies, etc. This is ok if the customer declines the offer. However, if the customer chooses one of the offers the quantity must be edited. This should not be a problem since the customer will need to specify the quantity any way. However, there are other items populated on the line that the customer may not need and have no interest to pay it any attention. This situation permits an item to be reserved in error or by mistake.Willie A.

I am unsatisfied with the amount of help your employee was willing to give me with getting ahold of an upper manager. He was not understanding of my mothers situation along with a disabled man in a wheelchair. The equipment should have been inspected and documented before being rented back out. The picture of the truck that was represented to me did not come with a time/date stamp to insure it was taking when my mother picked it up. If my mother is held responsible for the damage that was there at pick up, I will be spreading her story of your employees poor work ethic and lack of honesty within your company. She paid nearly 1,000 dollars to spread your company logo from Iowa to Tennessee. We can advertise too.Erla D.

Educate the customer on the drop off time. We were charged an extra day because we didn't drop that morning. No one told us it had to be back that morning. We also weren't educated on roadside assistance, the cable fell off the door, so we were charged mileage for driving back out to assist with fixing it. I wish we were more informed on all of this. Storage was great. My flight to VA was cancelled. By the time I returned to VA. I had already missed my reservation time. Uhaul was gracious enough to rent me a 15 ft truck. This truck was too small for me to remove my remaining items. This required a third plane ticket to VA and rental of a third truck. The trailer the online application recommended for the auto we wanted to tow (Toyota Tundra) was too small to fit the vehicle even though the online application said it would fit. We trusted that it would fit so didn't try it out in time and ended up having to tow a smaller vehicle, meaning that someone who doesn't know how to drive the Toyota Tundra had to drive it 600 miles across country. It wouldn't have been as much of a problem and disappointment if we just knew ahead of time that it wouldn't work.Jeffrey M.

I rented a 12x6 utility trailer from the Sevierville location. When I arrived to pick it up, I was informed that they didn't have those there and I would have to go to Alcoa to get one. This was over an hour drive to pick it up. To make matters worse, I had to return it to this same location. If I need to rent moving vehicles again, UHaul will be my last choice.RICHARD B.

when I made the rental I was told by an employee that if i needed to keep it longer then I would be charged 10 per day. when I told the general manager this he simply looked at me and said that " you misunderstood what I heard, we rent dollys for $10 per day." The reservation department sucked!!! I reserved my trailer for Seveirville, which was 10 min from where we were vacationing. Without as much as a phone call, my reservation was moved to over an hour away..... I called the day of my reservation for an explanation and got no answer only a half hearted sorry.... The self check in could be streamlined. Maybe instead of having to log into with a contract number maybe use the equipment number. Literally it's right there in case you have left your contract number elsewhere. Also wished there was someway for early pickup for trailers. I understand you want pictures for correct hookup. In my case I'm a professional driver and it's really an insult to have someone make sure I hook a trailer correctly. I also understand that any people are idiots and can't get out of the rain... 95% of the people who get rental equipment from you or a competitor shouldn't be allowed to drive in the first place. The staff and facility were top notch. The only issue I had which is what caused the rating to be low was the Setup of the storage facility. I rented one of the biggest units they had in climate control and it was on the top floor. Looking around it seemed like all the large units were upstairs and the small closet units were on the first floor. Seemed completely opposite of what you’d expect which made for a really long and tiring moving experience because of the ten stairs that had to be climbed with every load. That flaw in design is what really makes this storage unit rental questionable, because the staff was extremely friendly and the facility was super clean and well lit. John was at another facility years ago when I lived near that store. His employees were always friendly knowledgeable and the atmosphere good. Since he left that store wasn’t the same (still ok but not the same atmosphere ). Now I’m close to another location (all corporate stores) and it’s not like his was either. The guy at the front desk (can’t remember his name) was very friendly and accommodating! He only had a small unit available but our things wouldn’t fit from the trailer we had rented so he gave us two! Being from California and moving to TN, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the people but was overwhelmed by the kindness and hospitality. Someone saw us struggling with a recliner and offered to help get it in the upstairs unit…..LOVE southern hospitality….don’t know why I stayed in California as long as I did.
