The back door was broken, I didn't realize it until I went to use it. The truck was down for repairs and they rented to me anyway. When I called and told them about it they couldn't bring another truck to me I had to drive back and swap trucks. What a waste of my time. They did adjust my bill for there mistake and the fuel I put in the broke truck. That was the first time and last time I will rent a U-Haul truck.TROY B.

My husband and I placed an order for a rental truck with pick up time at 0900. We also contracted people to help with the move for two hours. We could not get the truck until 11:30. Location was locked. Employees were inside. We tried to call and no response. Nobody got the courtesy to meet us outside and explain to us if there was a problem. I had to spend extra money to contract the movers for a longer time. We also had spent extra money on arranging child care. The inefficiency of their services cost us extra expenses. The store was supposed to open at 9:00 AM, the employees didn't show up till 9:45 AM. There were a lot of people whose schedule was ruined because of this including mine. Also the employees didn't apologize for being late and treated us with attitude. The online check provided a truck number that I could have picked but that truck didn't exist. I had to down size to get to my schedule. Very disappointing experience, and I didn't hear a single apology from the U-haul employees.Sharan T.

Upon returning the truck after hours and after a long, tired day of moving, I had put it back in the lot where I found it and put the key in a drop box outside. I was unaware I had to drive it in a equipment return lane and put the keys in a different drop box. A woman had called me the next day and told me I never returned the truck. When I told her I did return the truck and where it was she became very rude and condescending, raised her voice with me and told me that I should have read the lease. I was ok with picking up the truck at this location. However, your scheduling team made multiple errors and had me drive an additional 50 miles out of my way to pick up this truck. the original pickup was at a facility in Fleetwood,PA which was 4 miles from my destination. I was told that the truck was doubled booked so I had to pay the extra mileage due to their error. So a truck that should have costed me $50.00 ended up costing me close to $90.00. They had one person working the counter on a Saturday morning. It took almost 30 minutes to pick up the reserved truck because there were 2 walk-ins and a â€œnot foundâ€ reservation in front me. If a location is short staffed, they should take reservations first and THEN walk-ins once the reservations are checked in. Other than that, the truck was fine outside of being a bit dated and dropping the equipment off, the serviceman was extremely friendly and quick.Diana R.

Corp 800 number gets a poor rating. They had me picking up a 100 miles away. They kept saying 2 weeks the schedule will fix it self. It did not and I had to call 5 times it stressed me out. Last thing I need in a major change of life move. The address u told me to pick up the truck did not exist because they moved. More stress!! Then I was told that my area did not do 26 ft trucks. Customer service at uhaul is pathetic. Non existent. You get stuck in a loop of hold music because every person who picks up transfers you instead of helping. The location employees are equally as resistant to do their jobs. The Allentown branch has the most disrespectful employees I have ever experienced. They refused to prepare my boxes and made my movers wait hours. Huge failure on uhauls part. My moving help made the entire experience for me. I will never use uhaul services again.Emily S.

I dropped my truck off after closing so there was no interaction. I would like to take this opportunity to express my extreme disappointment in the whole process. I had 2 CONFIRMED reservations for 6x12 trailers on Tue, May 27. I get a phone call on Thur, May 29 stating I had no trailers. I had people coming to help me move 2 storage units from Annapolis, Md to Allentown, Pa. I was offered a 15 ft van but it was 30+ minutes from where my storage unit was. This was then met by the experience with the battery that I already mentioned. This was undoubtedly the WORST rental experience I have ever had. UNACCEPTABLE!HARRIS C.

You can start by letting people know the details of the check in process when they return a truck after hours. The contract doesn't even tell the details of the process. Uhaul leads you to believe all you have to do is go onto a website, follow the instructions, and you can check the truck in. What they don't tell you at the location, or in the contract, is that you need to be physically present at the site, with your cellphone in hand, on order to complete the checkin process, otherwise Uhaul will attempt to dupe you out of $20,00 for a convenience fee, if you have a representative checkin the truck the following day.NATHAN H.

The first time I arrived at the storage location, Logan and Brian helped me. They were the absolute nicest and helped very much with my first day of loading in. Beyond that, each time I talked to an employee they were mildly condescending and talked to me like I was dumb for even asking a question in the first place. I understand you must have a lot of people asking questions that may seem silly, but a little kindness goes a long way. I needed to rent a trailer but my truck didn’t have the wiring so I rented a truck one way. My facility didn’t have one so Tyrell Owens in the Allentown store called the Easton store who had some. When I got to Easton they said they didn’t have any. The young man didn’t even look he just said he didn’t have it but then he looked after I said Allentown called and had the truck. My experience with Uhaul was very pleasant. The security is very well detailed and secure. The fact that you have to swipe to enter and swipe to leave the premises give you the extra peace of mind and tranquility. If there is something I would like to implement is that, I would've preferred to see staff quickly react to alarms when tenets do not swipe for access to their units. Was instructed per online written directions to clean and leave the access key in my storage unit, but then I got stuck inside the elevator when trying to leave because I needed a key to select a floor.
