I used an actual truck on Sunday 7/24/2022 and the 2 men (especially the taller one with long hair) helped me out so much and they were so sweet. Went to Alton jay said they had one he called and they told him they didn't either even when the computer said they did. So I rented a smaller one drive back by and it was still there for the entire time I rented a smaller one making more trips.

Ashiareekah M.Was very rude when we walked in to get our reservation trailer. Once hooked he then told me I'd need to buy the electrical cord adapter when the last time I rented a trailer from a different uhaul they let me use one and said just leave it hooked to the cord when returned. I had to go buy a adapter plug. I also asked if I could return it to the uhaul that's closer to me and he said “absolutely not†where as a simple “actually this is this stores trailer so it would have to be returned here†would have been better. I had to have the trailer an extra day and they didn't tell me that it would be and extra charge to keep it another day and they told me I couldn't drop it off after hours, which the other location said I could, even with they're adapter still on the trailer. When I went to return the trailer I got yelled at for pulling under the equipment return tent and was told “I told you to return it where you got it from†but it had been two days since I picked it up and had a lot more stuff on my mind than to remember where I got the trailer from what spot. Overall would not recommend the Alton Illinois location to anyone.

They want to I a good job but don’t realize you’re on a schedule and not wanting to fix mistakes and want service without mistakes! I always say,if I was as full of mistakes as you are I would’ve been fired lo Nguyen ago. It’s all in the dsetails, py attention to what customers want and need. I hate dealing with the mistakes over and over. It’s very time consuming

When stuck using an app for everything doesn't always work (never received the texts where I was supposed to note differences in fuel, condition, etc.).

Mel R.Everything was great except the key I was given did not fit into the night drop because the slot was too narrow. I called Uhaul and was informed that I would have to wait at least half an hour before I could talk to someone. Fortunately I had the manager's business card and I called his cell. He returned my call and told me what to do. It took me half an hour to drop off the key after I had completed the on line return. Certainly Uhaul should have night drops that you can actually drop the key in and Certainly when you call for help you should be able to talk to someone in a reasonable amount of time.

Joshua F.We had to pick up the uhaul early and had no time to wait around and get a new one because we had to be to the new location by a certain time but if I had a choice I would have canceled and found a new location completely. The checking in part was frustrating and took too long then once we got the uhaul we realized they didn't give us our appliance dolly that we paid for. The can smelled like feet and poop and the first thing I noticed was the brakes were not great. I had to drive it on the u Highway for an hour and it was SO UNSAFE ESPECIALLY IN THE RAIN. This uhaul should never have passed inspection…. Never!!!! I haven't been contacted about any of it yet so I will have to call today not sure what the response will be I'll update the review with that info. Anyway I used the app for drop off and they tried to charge me an extra 25 for a cleaning fee which is not okay since they gave it to me dirty I also let the location I dropped it off to know that the uhaul was a dud and needed work done plus it smelled disgusting.

Kelsey R.The manager, Joseph does not represent U-haul at ALL. I called the Homer Adams facility, asked the person that answered if he was at that location (Finn) and he stated he was. Had a pleasant reservation with him. When I went to pick up the vehicle, none of those commitments were honored. Joseph said, oh that was someone in AZ. As a consumer we aren't aware and he basically told me to bad. He would be handling my complaints anyway so there will be no corrections. Glad that I am fine with my move and will not be recommending Uhaul to anyone in the future.

Ron B.The experience with u haul was very good. The only problem with the more was the load and unload people. They were very bad. They were an hour and fifteen minutes late to start with. And then it went down hill from there. The girl was a good worker. The guy wasted more time than he worked. It was like hiring one worker at $85 per hour. That company is a bad reflection on your company.
Kenneth K.The facility rates above others for a few reasons. 1. They have after 12:00 p.m. weekend hours. 2. The manager at this facility was very helpful, opposed to the person in Haslet, TX, during our roadside assistance need. Joseph actually worked on getting us help. I had to delay my arrival to Alton, IL from TX due to bad tires on your equipment. The first truck’s tires went flat luckily before we left the store. This meant getting another one and completing more paperwork - delay #1. Then about 1:50 hours outside of Alton, a tire on the auto transport lost treads. The repairman said the tires were too old. This produced a two hour wait on the side of the road. And, yet I was not offered any type of compensation for these avoidable incidents. Beside the possibility of a dangerous accident, I had to pay more to the movers due to extra time, missed my appointment with the realtor and had to find a place to stay.

The office was open and we got set up with the help of the clerk, but the process was not clear in the info we were given online. We are not sure how we would have gotten in if the office had not still been open.

They were so helpful when things didn’t go like they should with the truck return and super supportive when our 1st movers into the storage were a disaster. Every step of the way was great. I would definitely recommend this location. Amber was friendly, informative and always willing to go the extra for us. I think the other guy (tall, thin and fun) was awesome! We got lost finding our new storage unit that didn’t have numbers on it yet and he come over and walked us to it. Both were always great when we talked about our troubles with the movers.

Problem is when I arrived on the move-in day, I requested my "free" month of storage as promised earlier in person (gave me a paper coupon) and again the on-line process said I qualified for a free month rent. I was told that since I did everything online, I did not qualify for the free month rental. I asked why that was and was told "I don't know why corporate won't let us do that". I went home and called U-Haul customer service. The representative applied the free month rent to my account and said the local business manager would call me. I haven't received a call as yet. The place is very clean and the people seem nice, just has been a pain having to spend a half hour on the phone to get something resolved that shouldn't have had to be done.
