While loading stuff into the 9-ft van, my daughter stepped on something that went through her shoe and her foot causing her injury. Upon further inspection it turned out to be one of the nail in Peg feet for some piece of furniture that had gotten under the Matt in the back of the van and stuck through. If it was properly inspected prior to our renting it this would have been seen and should have been. I don't know if I'll be renting from this location again or from U-Haul itself. The entire reason for renting from a reputable company is the assurance that the equipment is maintained, is safe and properly inspected. She is a university student and the rental fee is an unfortunate necessity for someone who really doesn't have the money but must in order to get to University.Joseph M.

I generally have a great experience with uhaul but this time was terrible. My only option for a pickup truck was to drive 40min across the city, when I tried to change my drop off location to my preferred location I was denied because it was a city truck, so again I had to return it to the complete other side of town racking up the majority of the kilometres I had on the rental, I couldn't return the truck until after hours and had a terrible time trying to do the self return, it was so frustrating I just dropped the key in the box for the fee, when I return the truck I left it clean and topped up the gas, the next morning I wake up to my final receipt showing they charged me a damage fee!! They accused me of a scrape on the bumper which was there when I rented it, and also accused me of a dent in the door which I hadn't noticed when I picked it up or dropped it off! I would never use this location again, between the rude employee who acted like I was an inconvenience even though the store was empty and being accused of damaging a vehicle I'm still left with a bad taste in my mouth and may never rent a uhaul again, and would be sure to encourage others to not do business with this location or uhaul in the future.william C.

I was moving out of province and had reserved a storage unit off your website for my move, when I went to pay for my unit you were sold out of that sized unit. So reserving a unit was useless. I will admit the manager did an excellent job and offered me a slightly bigger unit at a discount to correct the situation. Unfortunately about 2 months later the discount was removed saying it was because the unit price had been increased by the company. The 2 more times in my year with you the price for my unit increased. So in the first year my monthly payment went from $120 to over $200. This is why I choose to remove my stuff from storage and go somewhere else. I booked a heated storage unit online using the “Rent Now” option for the Bluewater Road location, the payment came off my credit card and the storage unit was available for use right away. I was given easy instructions how to access the storage unit and was provided an access code and storage locker number. The next day I realized that the appliances we ordered will not arrive for a few months, so at this time the storage unit was not needed. I contacted the Bluewater Road location and spoke with Nancy, she was amazing and understanding and gave me a refund right away! Great customer service!!!!Jessica C. | Online Move In

Don't put trucks with serious transmission issues on the road. Don't start customers off with 1/4 tank. Having to get fuel before you can even go anywhere and then having to again before returning is time consuming and annoying. Top the tanks up prior to renting. You're obviously charging customers who don't return it at the same level, but then not actually filling them with the fuel you've charged them for. It's a scam. Fill the damned tank. Don't mark the truck as "clean" when half the inside of the windshield is covered in Armor-All, clouding the window. (no it was not fog on the window, it was Armor-All that had to be wiped off with a rag) 20 years I have been renting from Uhaul and this was the worst truck I have ever seen. Now, having filled out this less than stellar review, I am sure that as per usual, I will get another email exactly like this one asking me for a review, despite having sent one already. Except this time I am saving this text and will keep sending it until you accept it. You're a multi-national corporation that people rely on to help them move their whole lives from one place to another. Do better.Andrew R.

I had a HORRIBLE experience with this location! Your customer service lady Lee was beyond rude AND I was charged 20 dollars for an after hours fee when I was not late!! I have emailed email@example.com to follow up with my awful experience as I have not been treated this terribly by a customer service person before for simply asking about a refund. Also we did not have any windshield washer fluid in the truck and we had to go back in when we picked it up initially and ask for some as that is a HUGE safety concern. Luckily the woman who gave us the uhaul was actually a nice young woman who was apologetic and kind, unlike her coworker who thinks it's ok to tell customers to stop speaking and to not interrupt her. I was asking her a question regarding a refund and she was so unprofessional that I am at a loss for words. If you have a recording I would listen to it for around 830 am. I use uhaul all the time and will not be back to this location and will be advising others to do the same.Graeme M.
Being a business owner myself,the last thing you wanna hear when renting a vehicle is that there's an additional $15.00 charge for insurance ..Heres an example please: "If I originally told my customer the job was gonna cost $300.00 but when i finished the job I tomd them its gonna be another $150.00" ..I dont think they would be happy.Also the lady who helped me that day was not cooperative at all.I had mentioned to her before I left the parking lot the tank was NOT at 5/8 like she said it was It was actually 9/16. Then she tried too say in her report that I left for 15 minutes and came back saying the tank was 1/2 full.If you look where the trucks are parked in front of the building their all on a hill.. l never even left the parking lot, I went where my suv was parked to grab a few things from..Her attitude was beyond disbelief, She wanted nothing to with customer service.She did not wanna help resolve this issue what so ever.Very poor service.I would never rent from that place again.. I had originally booked a unit at the uhaul in Dartmouth but they gave away my unit and only offered smaller size, so this location saved the day as it was moving day the next day and thankfully they had a spot for me in a nice clean unit and well secured area thank you for turning around my day. The access to the facility could be better. There is limited space that makes it difficult to load/unload particularly with U-Haul vehicles. The loading bays where you can pull in to get out of the elements or even out of the way of other customers is poor. You cannot fit anything bigger than a sedan in there.
