I believe U-HAUL is providing excellent services. U-HAUL has got top of the line equipment. I have one suggestion that any new customer like me who is first time using the vehicle or equipment of U-HAUL must be properly briefed about the use of vehicles to avoid any damage. Every vehicle has different operating systems. Rest I appreciate the U-HAUL customer service.

Overall negative experience. Original pickup location was scheduled for Atlantic Highlands NJ. Had to switch to Brooklyn due to U-Haul not having any rentals in New Jersey. Very unprofessional and upsetting that I had to drive to Brooklyn. Lost time at work plus gas and tolls that weren’t expected.

The employees at that station had poor training in hospitality and showed a poor effort in helping us. When I last rented a van from your company, one of your employees helped us with registration and setting us up with a vehicle. This time, it was a woman that told us to go do all of it ourselves on the app and didn't want to deal with us until we're finished. The station also ran out of vans and we really needed one to handle cargo transport. Shouldn't there be a system that replaces the empty vans? I know if there's a popular product or service, I would make sure we are well-stocked. There was no effort to re-direct us to another station or even tried to help us in a meaningful way. The app was poorly designed as registration restarted several times and even when we completed usage of the rental, the app had us go through the process several times until finished. Just so happens, a van just got returned and were able to get one in the end. The lady continued to be stern and ate her food in front of us and later left without so much as telling another co-worker about our situation and we had to repeat ourselves with another employee. Up until now, I have rented from this place 3 times and every time, the level of customer service satisfaction is dismal. Whatever happened to "Service with a smile?" I've never seen such poorly trained staff that shows very little concern towards a customer's experience and satisfaction. Security is also weak as migrants hover around the place like it's their favorite hangout spot. They actively loiter the area and sit in the cargo rear end of your vehicles with impunity. This time, the cargo hold didn't reek of any foul stenches, but the hold clearly isn't well cleaned as it still had stains across the wall surface. You need to re-train your crew or replace them with people who take the job seriously. If I was welcomed at the counter, the staff member showing care and concern to our situation, offer us alternative options, helped us secure a rental, and give courteous instructions, I would've given a better rating, but so far, U-Haul had underwhelmed me every step of the way. If you want to win me back, make sure the staff do the job as if they care. That's the part that irritates me the most, so much dismissive, apathetic, and disengaged attitudes. If a Penske or Enterprise ever set up nearby as your competitor, I would never come back and just go to them instead.

The online portal delayed my rental for over an hour just because my license was cracked, even after scanning the code on the back of my license which should confirm it was legitimate. Recommend only due to location. Truck was very dirty and every time I rent a truck from this location, the windshield is filthy and on humid rainy days it fogs due to the dirt holding moisture. Hard to see at night from glare caused by the dirt holding moisture. Disgusting!! Inside the box with metal drill shavings everywhere and I took photos. They replaced some rivets and never cleaned out the material left behind. Metal shavings and furniture do not mix. Scratched some of our furniture. Ridiculous!! Then they didn’t pull the truck up for me. It wash by the wash area wedged between material that if hit would cause damage. I had 6” on either side to pull out. Totally unacceptable!! Very disappointed!!

The experience with the location on New Utrecht was fantastic. But my experience with the company was bloody awful. The app didn’t work, the 1-800 number is useless with people who can’t hejp and pass me off to others, and they sent me to a van and pickup spot that didn’t exist. Hours and hours of nonsense. But when I finally go to new Utrecht, they saved the day.
