Better front desk service. My parents had a horrible experience with the lady who attended them this morning she was nasty rude racist yelling at them. Had them waiting half a hour to attend them. Said remarks to her other coworker as to if the dont speak English why they come here. I am a supervisor for a customer service call center where I know for sure this shouldn't be allowed and leaves a bad review for this office. I would never recommend no one to this Brooklyn office to be insulted the way she treated my parents who were nothing but nice to her.

I reserved a truck for Friday and went later than my pick up time and they gave my truck away.
I arrived at the location at 7:50 and the lady was very upset to help me . She kept saying , we close in 10 mins, and then throughout the convo kept saying “ we close in 5 mins” , “we close in 3mins” . She couldn’t help me and told me to come back at 7am .
I returned the next day at 7:00am and the store wasn’t opened . There was someone there but he wasn’t ready to open yet . He finally opened at 7:20 and didn’t even apologize . It was very unprofessional and rude and made me very late for work this morning .

My drop off location was changed without letting me know. I returned the truck before 9am, but then I realized that I have to drive to another drop off location. It took me about 30mins to drive there. Then I was charged for an extra day. I called U-haul customer service number to dispute it and was told that since drop off location charged me, they will call me back to talk to me about this charge. It has been 3 days and nobody called me. I will dispute it with my credit card and probably never use U-haul anymore.

Got everything , and staff was helpful who was there during normal business hours, and especially at night. Taking photos and documenting things on truck was difficult since so many trucks made it hard to get distance needed. Also, lots of minor damage to truck, and hard to document it all so not charged for something that was already there.

I was surprised by the rental locations and the company itself by how everything was done. I have used U-Haul before with friends and never had an issue but when I needed one for myself to transport a car from upstate NY it was problems from the start. The staff was not very helpful. I got my truck and it dident have any A/C, I asked the worker to check the A/C and it took them a long time to even come out and check the truck. It was not busy either. The employee got into the truck to check the A/C and it would not work. He then tried to change the fan speed of the A/C and the knob came off in his hand. I asked if I could get a newer truck since I was driving 300 miles, and he told me he was not moving 3 trucks to get a newer truck for me. They gave me the next truck in the line and it was older and more beat up then the first one. The A/C did work but it was in much worse condition and much older. I decided there was nothing I could do and took the truck they gave me. I got upstate fortunately, but the truck was very shaky and unstable when braking. It was a bit all over the road on the highway. On the way back from upstate NY the A/C in this truck went out 20 or 30 mins into my trip home. It was in the high 80s that day and had to make many stops due to the heat. This made the 4+ hour drive turned into a much longer trip. I had to stop at rest stations and even got a hotel for the night due to the time and heat becoming to much. The next day while driving, the truck was making noise from the motor while accelerating. I decided to pull over on the expressway and check the engine compartment. The first thing I checked was the oil and it was completely empty. There was no oil in the truck and the remaining oil residue on the dip stick was very black in color, suggesting an oil change has not been done in a long time. I don't know how there was no oil ever added to the truck or why it was never checked before allowing a person to get in and drive 300+ miles. If a family rented this truck with children or anyone for that matter, they could have been seriously hurt. They do not seem to care about the customer or their safety and do not maintain or do daily checks of their trucks after the last customer used it. Very disappointed with the service and will be using a different company next time. I lost time, work and personal time due to being late on problems with their truck. I also ended up spending more money on extra expenses due to the truck having issues which made it way over priced. Better off hiring a professional to move or haul anything you need.

Make sure you have the trucks that people reserve at locations they reserve it from not send them on a goose chase for a truck and give them something we didn’t ask for and charge them a rate that we wasn’t supposed to pay and hold responsible for your mistake for not properly checking the system.

There was considerable confusion about the check in process. I think the main issue was that the app really did not match what was there. The staff were really nice about working it out but I had to take a van that had a license plate that absolutely did not match what I photographed and uploaded, and the app also changed the plate - the Ai seemed to keep the right state but scramble the numbers? So… A plus staff. D minus app. :)

The stall was slow and didn’t want to help. All they did was like the van is outside go find it and look for 15 to find the van. When we ask where the van they told us it some there around the side just look for the number and put the van out not even try to help with service. Very poor service.
