I had reserved a truck and trailer online at one location. Within minutes of making the reservation I was called on the phone and told I needed to go to a diff location. I get to the other location the next morning to pick up the truck, and am told they have no reservation for me and that they do not have a truck and trailer I can use. I was then told I can take a regular box truck and I have no choice but to take it as I was already running behind… and the truck clearly was not cleaned as it was full of dust and dirt and there was some kind of sticky substance all over the dash and windshield. It was ridiculous… the entire situation.

In Indianapolis, the GM Antonio Woodward refused to sign the receipt of transfer for the trailer. He was rude and unprofessional. We were unsure if we would even be able to receive the discount for our efforts. We were also told that the Uhaul staff would park and disconnect the trailer and they did not do that. We had to do that. The WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD. Antonio Wooward should not be managing a customer based organization.

Hostile employees lacking customer service skills. Rude. On their Personal phones the entire time and racist. I have told many people about the experience and hostility of the worker involved and will continue to share with friends on social media and plan to add on yelp any other platform that I am able To find. Unfortunately, this review is based off the actions of one single employees. The other employees seemed to be ok. But one bad apple can ruin a business. I would never recommend the alum creek location to anyone.

I went in and asked to rent a truck for two days. I was told it was due back into days at the beginning of day two I was called and Told it was due back I explained I had rented for 2 days the lady yelled at me and told she was going to charge me an additional 50 dollar fee

I had a "ride share" reservation however I was pressed for time and I found the process confusing . I went to the counter to ask to check in and she refused, basically waving me away. I tried to use the phone application agsin w/o success and had to basically demand she check me. She did so, obviously bothered with short answers with attitude and aggressively typing and shoved tge contract to me. Once on the road it began to rain. The windshield wipers where chesp, old & useless. In addition the windshield glass was filthy on the inside. Wordt ihaul experience ever. I typically rent a uhail in the past at least 6 times a year. I will never return to the alum creek columbus ohio location again

Customer service was really bad. Staff were terse with me and they were all video chatting with other people on their phones while I was being helped. When there was an issue, the staff member acted as if to say “too bad” and didn’t offer any solutions to the issue.

We were very dissatisfied with our recent Uhaul experience. We received the truck with 1/2 a tank of gas and we returned it with 1/2 a tank of gas left. We were then billed $30 for gas. This came as a shock to us because we returned the truck with the same amount of fuel in it. We had driven less than 30 miles total. We reached out to customer service thinking that it must be a mistake. They were not helpful. They told us we should have taken pictures of the fuel gauge. We feel like we were taken advantage of and charged for something we did not use. Based on our encounter I am sure this is not the first time that this location has wrongfully stolen from its customers. We will not be using Uhaul any longer in the future and have warned our friends and family to steer clear of this location.

There was an error of being overcharged. I inquired about it and was told there was a mistake on their end of billing. Customer Service responded rather quickly and corrected the error in a timely manner. This is something that was greatly appreciated and as a result, I give this location 2 thumbs up.

The staff at this location really must hate their jobs. Long wait to get service, not even acknowledging or greeting customers. One girl had so much attitude she made me feel I was inconveniencing her. Nobody even smiles. All 4 of the ones I saw on 3 separate occasions. Once to rent, went back the next day for a dolly and the last day to return. If they don't like what they do as customer SERVICE representatives, maybe they need a different industry or whatever. One out of five stars. Never renting or buying a roll of tape from this location again.

Most importantly - trucks need to have adapters in the truck to be able to charge cell phones - or at least let the customer know that they need a 12 volt plug in to charge the cell phones- we had no way to charge phone - we w have gotten a 12 volt adapter had we know we needed one to charge phones

The only people there I can say showed good customer service is the assistance manager (white man), a black lady, had both sides of her hair shaved 1. My key card didn't work 2. The doors didn't work most of the time 3. I made my payment for April on 3/27/2024 and the manager the (lady) didn't process the payment so I was charged a late fee and a extra $10.00, this is when I decided to findr me another storage unit somewhere else and I did. I had a funeral to attend and couldn't get into my until the next morning and the doors was still not working, many people told them about this and nothing was done. I had to go to the office and them it's not working. The lady with the shaved haircut help me right away. I want to THANK HER!! and the assistant manager (white man)

Staff was great. Tap pay is not accepted so I had to run to get my card. With doing so, I guess my reservation reset and added the insurance that I selected no online and initially before getting my card. When talking with the manager, she advised they can’t remove it. So I’m being charged extra for something I didn’t ask for. I’m a single mom with no extra income to spare. I borrowed the money I had to get the truck to only be over charged. Truck I had a weird noise and check engine light was on.

Not accuse your customers of things that they know wasn’t the case and stop trying to charge their card multiple times for multiple different amounts. Some of which are almost as much as the original rental down to just a hand full of dollars. It’s extremely unprofessional to do that and if it continues I will be contacting the BBB

Employee checking in couldn't be bothered to get off of a phone call with her airpods as I'm checking in. I've moved 5 times in the past 10 years and this was my worst u-haul experience yet. Truck check engine light came on, and the mirrors were so bad you could only use them if it was overcast. Checking my truck in was also poor because the app has become riddled with glitches and constantly starts you over. Just a few years ago, there were no problems with this.

Your web site for people to return Vans is not user friendly. It took a long time to find the number I needed to return my Van. Not a good feeling when you are tired and ready to turn in the van and go. This should be an easy process. It took about 30 minutes to figure things out. Anxiety and frustration truly became my reality. Not a pleasant experience. There was also a statement on your web site about a charge of $20 dollars. Not to sure about the reasoning behind that logic. My Van was dirty with mud all around the bottom and the tires. I’ve never rented a Van from U-Hual where it was nothing but clean inside & out..

This was not my original pick up location. My original pickup location was at Harmony Furniture in Columbus Ohio. They did NOT have mt reservation, in fact, they gave the truck away to someone who just came in the door and asked for a truck when I already had a reservation from that location. I had to wait almost a half hour to be sent to another location for my reservation (Alum Creek). This part of the process made me late for what I needed the truck for and I had to pay late fees to get my stuff. Although the Alum Creek location made the pick up process flawless, the relocation already had me me in a bind. I don't know U-haul's reservation policy but if a truck is reserved (mind you the reservation was set up about a week prior) it should be used for the reservation and not given away to a different customer who did not have a reservation.

I rented a 26” truck I did the instruction as I was told from the mobile pick up. I left with the truck got to my home & once my movers arrived they went to load my couch onto the truck. They came to me told me the back of the truck smelled like a dog kennel when i immediately called U-Haul & spoke with the representative and advised them I was bringing the truck back. They did offer a replacement but at the time in order to get the full potential of my movers & money I had to move them to the next day which is when I planned on getting another U-Haul. I was informed they couldn’t refund me my money & I would need to speak to the manager. When I spoke with the manager she advised me that she could only refund me $20. I wasn’t even in possession of the truck for more than 2 hours. This was very unprofessional I don’t mind paying for the gas & mileage however to charge me for the truck rental & the protection is ridiculous! Especially seeing that today I wanted to come back & utilize your services. However I’ll move to the next company terrible business

The Alarm would go off for no reason and bust my eardrums. Not good. You guys charge for not having a secured lock, even though U-Haul is covered legally through the lease agreement for stolen property. That’s over extending your hand and taking money away from people and it’s wrong and you need to stop. I think notifications are fine but don’t violate renters rights to leave it unlocked. The White guy at the Bexely location in Columbus, Ohio is a phenomenal employee and I’d love to see him get a raise. He was polite, explained things thoroughly and even helped me when he could have otherwise penalized me. He was a charm and the best part of my experience with U-Haul. Reward him please

The employee was great but the automated process sort of got in the way of us all doing what we need to do. My initial reservation was cancelled without notification or explanation. The text I got from uHaul were deleted from my inbox without my permission, and no explanatiin given for that either. Also, I was given a wrong unit. Good thing I didn't move all my stuff in before I noticed, because I have a lot and that could have taken awhile. I had to present ID in person since the access codes i was given didnt work so, I had to go all the way back home to retrieve that, and then return and display.

Disappointed that several workers would lock large loading and unloading doors before the posted time. This happened to me on at least 2 occasions. Also, there’s no refund for moving out before billing for next month. But obviously the storage can be rented out. Seems like your getting paid twice that way. And screwing the move out early customer by not offering a partial month refund!

I have no complaints, the facility & staff were fantastic. My only suggestion is, the longer your property is in storage after the first year your cost should go up half the normal increase. It should do that as long as it is in storage. That would not only increase customer volume but clients would feel more comfortable about leaving it in there longer.

Home girl was absolutely AMAZING!! She was very accommodating and hilarious! She made my checkout fun, but was professional and quick. She explained everything thoroughly and got us out of there so we could clear out my storage unit quickly. I would recommend Uhaul on Alum Creek to everyone!

Witnessed unprofessional handling of a separate, irate customer at your Alum Creek service desk on afternoon of June 2nd, 2023. We proceeded with completing my reservation, but I was uneasy about the incident since occurrence. Decent operation and great location, actually! Just hope what I saw is not a common scene there; kind of why I found it worthy of addressing here.

When I signed up, I made a reservation for a 10x10 unit and had a confirmation email and everything. When I arrived a week later to move my stuff in, they told me they didn’t have any large units and never actually reserved one for me. I had to figure out where to put half my stuff that day as they could only offer me a 5x6. I asked if they could notify me when a larger unit became available and they said they would- they never did. I checked in with them the next 3 times I went, asking to be notified and they never did reach out so I was with a 5x6 the whole time I was there. The elevators have also been out of order multiple times I needed to get stuff from my unit, which is so incredibly frustrating. The lack of follow through from employees is what annoyed me the most.

I have to question the customer service training of the Manager, Adeshia Petersen. Upon removal of the items from my unit, the movers inadvertently took away one of the moving carts in their truck. The Manager called me and basically said that they had stolen the cart. I don't know who she usually deals with, but the assumption of theft from the get go is not "a best practice" from a customer serice perspective and is not acceptable in my books. I contacted the movers - who had already realized their oversight - and they returned the cart. When I called to update the situation to the Manager, she wouldn't take my call and instead communicated with me through one of her staffers. Not very professional in my opinion. She would not apologize for the accusation of theft and then a few days later, a charge for $75 was applied to my CC on file. This is NOT OK! I spoke to staff in person when I cleared the unit and they would not remove the charge and told me to "call Corporate". I have been a UHaul customer for close to 10 years in multiple locations - including Canada and have never had the rude and offensive treatment I experienced with Ms. Petersen. I would be glad to speak with someone about this should you need any more information. At this point, I cannot recommend this particular location to others and that is unfortunate.

I think you need to forget about the alarm system as it is. It’s constantly going off because no one can figure out checking in and out. I feel like I suffered hearing loss over the 4 years there.

The doors to enter the building slide apart. There is a garage door where you can back in the building if you need due to weather. However with all this space you still have to go through a normal size Door entrance to get to unit. I think that's such a design flaw. Loaded carts outside and got to door and had to unload to get through door then load again.
