Return process is vague. Was told to go to uhaul.com/share if I returned equipment after hours. Returned at 7 pm. They were closing and offered no help. Thought that I could complete the return when I got home. Dropped off equipment. Went home. Went to website. Took forever to figure out that I had to use the uhaul app. Was NOT obvious. Downloaded app. I hate apps. I hate having to download an app for a once a year process of renting uhaul equipment. Went to complete return at home with app bc they told me I'd be stuck with a $20 fee is they checked in the next morning. Asinine policy. Guess what? I couldn't complete the return at home with your app because I HAD TO BE BACK AT THE DROPOFF PLACE. So, the next morning I had to get up early and haul ass to the uhaul place to check it in with the app while I'm on the premises BEFORE they check it in and stuck me with a $20 charge. Really terrible communication and policies. Be thankful that you have a virtual monopoly on renting equipment like this.Michael R.

Staff at Bolingbrook on Saturday 4/24 was outstanding and went out of there way to accommodate me. Was supposed to bring truck to a different location and after moving all day I was beat. Previous renters paperwork and a USED facemask were left in the passenger seat. I mentioned that on the truck return app, and you tried to charge ME a $25 cleaning fee, because I "checked" that the truck was not clean and ready to be rented out. Also, app had excessive gas charge listed. I had to speak with Uhaul employees. So much for contactless rental.John C.

My first experience at this location was horrible. I was forced to pay for an extra day that I didn't even get to use the truck. I set up the truck pick up for 6:30 online and had trouble to get it to work and get me the keys. I caught the worker leaving at 7pm and asked him to help me get the keys as it was not working online and he said there was nothing he could do and that I had to call the customer service or come back in the morning. I called and sat in hold for 20 minutes to no avail. I came back the next morning and the staff were much better and apologizing for what happened as that should have never happened and they got me a truck right away with many apologies. I was charged for an extra day and I had no way to get anyone to try and refund this amount. It was a total nightmare and I had to take off work to eventually get the truck . I dont know if I'll ever rent from Uhaul again for that reason. Your online sight is not useful at all and no one answers the phone ever.Mona E.

I excepted the recommendation of a customer service representative and used the van. Bad move! My queen size bed didn't fit in the van. And I had to waste a trip just unload the bed. It was too cold for names and introductions but the two guys who helped me were great. I arrived late on a Saturday, they helped me get my car off the trailer, let me park it in their lot overnight, then return the truck the next day. When I got their the next day they remembered me and had me on my way in minutes. Can't say enough good things about how this rental was handled end to end.WILLIAM K.

The originally scheduled pickup location at Fire Towing, in Downers Grove, IL, did not have the assigned vehicle in an accessible location for 24/7 pick-up. This is unacceptable customer service for that location. Fortunately, a U-Haul team member was able to act quickly and re-assign my pickup to the Bolingbrook facility that had my truck ready in minutes. Please provide negative feedback to Fire Towing for the poor effort.Nicholas H.

They were very receiving of the information I gave them regarding the wiring issues with the lights, appreciative that I repaired them enough for safe traveling and receptive of the fact that I told them there was a leak in the right left top of the trailer as my couches and other items got soaked during the drive thru the rain and snow storm. Luckily I happened to have a plastic cat litter box coincidently placed near the leak in the roof that caught a portion of the leak but not nearly enough. While they could not offer a discount for the electrical repair I performed on the trailer lights nor the leaking roof, they were kind enough to instruct me to contact corporate about it.Dan S.

Mechanical conditions of tuck poor. Rude customers service, dirty truck, equipment added i did not ask for taking value away from the truck. Moving pads dirty and frozen together. I did my order online in Indianapolis, get to the uhaul on Weber in Illinois in they didn't have any dolly's!!! I drove to boiling brook to get a dolly in had to pay out of pocket!! Furthermore, when attempting to check-in the truck, your application didn't work on both, your website and the app and we tried each on two different phones, which required us to come back the following morning, when we should have been able to sleep in after a rough move! Figured out side door access on our own including fact you have a to swipe first main door then go to side door to swipe again. Also 24hr access door needs to be fixed, can't open door easily (panic door hw constantly stuck). The access key card never worked. I took the card to the office on 3 different occasions to have it programmed. They gave me a new card and still never worked.
