This location was several miles further away from my residence than a couple of other locations, but that may have been a result of the need for this equipment at this location. The personnel were friendly and all pitched in to get us processed and on our way.

KIMBERLY RI had a 15ft truck booked and confirmed at a location on SR70, which no longer exists. The only truck I could rent from this location was a 10ft meaning 2 trips instead of 1. U-Haul as a company should ensure that bookings are made and confirmed with actual working locations. I am extremely disappointed in U-Haul as a company, not with the 14th St location. I would like to know what happened to the 15ft truck that was allocated to me since the rental location Hide-away Storage is no longer in business. Your online booking system needs to be investigated and kept up to date to avoid situations like this from happening again.
Andrew WI tried using the app to manage my rental but my information didn't populate in the app itself. I received emails confirming reservation but, using the same credentials, the app never acknowledged the rental and specifics. Disappointed in that.
DONALD WI rent here a lot. The staff is fantastic. They are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The equipment is well maintained, reservations are honored, and they are prompt to check in returns and send out receipts. I have other locations I can chose from, but I go to this location every time. I highly recommend them.
PAUL FThe truck was in excellent condition. The woman who checked me in was extremely nice and professional; However, it is totallly ridiculous for a facility of this size with many trucks and trailers to literally have only 5 parking spots for customers to leave their vehicle while renting. Myself and other are literally asked to leave and drive down to the Lowes parking lot to park your vehicle in a lot where you are NOT patronizing a business in that area, and then walk the 1/3 of a mile back to the facility on US 41 to then obtain your rental. Only to have to do it all over when you return it. Moreover, the early 30's looking African American man in the floppy hat, about 5'8" tall and 150 lbs. walks around the lot barking at clients as to where they can park with a disdain and less than professional manner about him. You then hear him equally shouting orders over the radio to other staff members rudely, stating to "TELL the renters they have to go park down at Lowes!" because they have no more spots there. Whoever owns, manages, and operates this facility needs to get it together. This is mainly a local moving truck rental establishment whose inability to accomodate a 5 hour period of time for a paying client to park is unreasonable at best. The only reason I kept the rental is because there was not a truck available at another location. And while all that is bad enough, when met with the arrogance of an outside yard employee really left me with a bad taste. Someone take charge and promote a better work ethic/environment, and certainly find some more parking.
BRIAN WNothing. We came in without a reservation as we were given a moving task at the last minute. I've never not had a reservation so I wasn't sure what would happen. As it was we were able to rent a cargo van and get our task done. Awesome job you guys! Thank you.

CARRIE EWorst Uhaul experience of my entire life!! I will never return to this location and hope to never use Uhaul. The yard employees are AWFUL!! The treated us so poorly that I was contemplating not using the trailer at all. I went inside to sign documents and check out the trailer and they would rather flirt with the lady working, argue with the lot employees in front of us instead of helping me. This location has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE.
TAYLOR MI stated To my friend who was with me that this was by far the cleanest best run Uhaul I have ever used and at 75yrs old I have used U-Haul many many times over the years and wouldn’t consider any of their Competition at Any price . From the time I drove onto the lot (where every vehicle was properly parked and displayed) Til the time I left Everything was in top shape. When I walked into the spacious lobby I noticed ( and keep in mind I am someone who has nearly 50 years of Retail experience) that every shelf, every display was properly displayed and very well presented! In conclusion, all the people I had contact With were Very pleasant and helpful….Jose Was extremely Helpful as He even helped Me with the “pigtail” electrical device on my truck! It was a pleasure doing business with this U-Haul and I’m going on about it because it was more than the usual “good experience” to an Excellent Experience! The pickup location in Lexington SC, was an absolute nightmare. None of the extra equipment I reserved was made available at the pickup location and I was directed to another location to pickup the equipment, which still wasn’t available. The truck itself also had problems. The air conditioning did not work well at all, and hardly worked at all the whole trip down. This caused significant problems with my dog, and my pet fish. I lost a significant amount of fish because the cab was too hot. Overall I am very satisfied with the drop off location, and incredibly dissatisfied with the pickup location.

With that said, I think the unit had just come open that day so it would be understandable that staff may not have been able to sweep it out. On a different note, at times there seemed to be people lingering around that had no interest or very little interest in unloading a truck or pulling items out of storage. The units security measures are great, but may need a live person stopping by the facility more on Saturdays.

The guys would get on us about where we parked but there was insufficient space to load with the need to use one lane for the forklift and so many pids in the way to we couldn't double up one car in front if if other in the 2 remaining parking spots. They were rude about too even though we had one person available to move the cars around if necessary. They need to move pods earlier or later or change the access hours if they need to work in that area and not want to have customers around.

Timothy R | Overall ExperienceMontreese was wonderful and also another worker that was helping her the day I was last there. I had a piano that had been in my family for over 55 year stored there. It had been in storage for almost a year and I had to make a hard choice to have a junk removal company to take it away. I tried to sell it and then give it away but no one wanted it. I have no place to put it and I am not sure when I will be able to buy my house. I was absolutely heart broken!!!!!!! Montreese told me to call off the junk company because she could find someone that needed her and she would go to a good home. Long story short...SHE DID!!!!!! I burst into tears and gave Montreese a big hug!!! I told her I played that piano since I was a little girl with my mom and aunt Korine!!!! Both have passed on. So sending the piano to a junk yard crushed me!! But thanks to Montreese...that was not the case. I got a call on my way home that day from Montreese's friend that got the piano...She thanked me for it and said "Now I can teach my little girl to play". Again I burst into tears!!!! I spoke with Montreese and she said that "they can't get that little girl off the piano!!" So thank you for this experience!!! I know my piano that is so precious to me has a great home for the rest of her years!!!!!
Maria P | Overall ExperienceOn our move in date, we were coming from a disaster zone in Fort Myers. We chose the option to self checkin and reserved our unit but this option was not available when we arrived. It took the lady over an hour to get us checked in which made us 30 minutes late dropping off our moving truck to a location 10 minutes away. I had already put all of our info in including my credit card info but the lady could not find our information. THE INSULATION!!!! We just moved out yesterday and the amount of insulation and fiberglass all over our belongings was unbearable to the point that we actually have itchy rashes from it! We have to clean every single item that was in that unit, and on top of that had rodent damage to boxes and bags that had NO food in them. Uhual probably won’t refund us anything for this damage and they also didn’t prorate us for this month so we paid $140 for 5 days of the month to remove damaged and completely dirty belongings. Definitely would NOT recommend to anyone.

After a month they decide to lock us out of our unit cause we used 2 locks that are NOT approved locks (They appove only a round lock which they sell) they NEVER said anything about needing a specific lock at time of rental..NO ONE SAID ANYTHING. During the short time there both our $3000 each plush mattresses and box springs along with multiple other items were completely ruined and destroyed by rodent droppings, urine and chewing. When we brought it to the attention of the staff they told us that they knew they had a real bad rodent problem but it had been taken care of by a professional company they acquired and there were other customers with the same damage as ours and we would also have no problem being reimbursed for our damaged property as well and told us to just call a number they gave us (probably just to get us out the door) and our damaged property would be taken care of and of course you guessed it their answer was NOPE it is our problem. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE THIS STORAGE FACILITY..NEVER AGAIN...Beware

Alot of my items were damaged when they had their RAT PARTY. You can't put a price on them because they meant more because I saved to buy or I was given these items and didn't know about situation until I went over to get my Christmas stuff. Rented Oct 2022 moved Jan 31. Had to throw out to much. Your Staff, amazing, busy at times. Unhappy customer.

From my mattresses, my clothes, my wooden headboard even cords to lamps and video game consoles. We were homeless and from the beginning the staff (Ms. Heather, Ms. Lauren & Nick) were always wonderful, I don't blame the staff for the rats ruining my things, im just really disappointed because this was an expensive controlled climate facility. I believe she was new, but we were there right at 7am (luckily since we couldn’t register via phone) and we needed to have our truck returned down the road at 9am. We are moving from a hurricane zone which has been extremely stressful and they did not make our experience very pleasant. I had made a reservation the night before and they couldn’t find it even though I had a confirmation number. The maintenance man was nice at first but was yelling at us from across the parking lot saying “you better hustle, that truck is due!!!!!!” Meanwhile we had been throwing our stuff out of the truck outside so we could return our truck in time. The lady who checked us in also gave us the wrong unit number which was a quick fix. Overall pretty stressful checkin process but we are happy to finally be moved in.

I had to throw away all of my big furniture. They did not send out any notification to let people know they were having climate issues nor pest issues so we could take the steps to protect our valuables and are still letting people move in. Do not use them!!

When I went to the office I was told they have been trying to get AC fixed for a while and has a rodent issue for months. I am devastated I have to throw my and my kids belongings out due to the negligence of this facility.

My bank account was charged for unit i can not even use and now i have to wait 3-5 business days to receive my refund for their mistake. Sure they can take your money on the spot for no service rendered but they want to make you wait to give you back the money they said they wouldn't take until i was actually moved in... Thanks a lot for nothing.

We wore mask for fear of disease!!! Talked with other customers and they said the same thing. Manager was short with us, and unconcerned. Said we were the only complaint. NOT TRUE. The other couple said she said the same thing to them. Only asked us if we had insurance for our damaged property. We're contacting the health department. I thought insurance was for flood, or natural disaster.....guess I should have read the fine details. Lost four chairs, antique family heirloom, and some items in boxes. The POOP that was swept out into the hallway was still there when we came back two days later, just to continue to get OUT!!! Only used storage this time in my life during the move to FL, and pray I never use it again!! OH, this card system in and out seems convenient, but alarm goes off way too often.....I wonder how much damage has been caused to our hearing. When you go to swipe "out" it's like the system has you already out and you're swiping in again......Like you "timed" out or something. Worthless!!!!

I was going to Rent a unit closer to home but i figured since the first month was free i would use that unit. When I arrived with a my trailer loaded i went into the office where i was told they probably didnt have a unit for me because they had reserved the only unit available to 5 people. I tried to explain that you can't RESERVE 1 unit to five people when the woman became rude. They finally gave me a unit they had reserved to somone for the 15 th. Then i was charged over $100.00 for a unit i was told was going to be free. When I questioned the lady she became even more rude and said, do you want it or not. I had no choice but to take the unit becau i had no place to unload their trailer which I had to return. What a circus. I will buy a trailer before I ever use u-haul again!!!!

From them basically stealing my property, to threats of selling it TWICE, to finally having corporate doing the right thing by researching MY account and seeing that I in fact WAS RIGHT and rectifying the situation. U-Haul needs to stick with what they know, rental trucks!

We rented a storage unit here too. It was quick & easy to do, and the facility was very clean, inside & out. In my experience, this location was like a revolving door. Get trucks & trailers in, get them out. I was impressed with the staff for how busy they all were, that they took time to help anyone that drove onto the lot.
James B | Overall Experience10×8 unit has four posts in each corner which makes it hard to pack my stuff in it, also posts have insulation covering it which is now all over my stuff and me. Very disappointed, I should not be charged for that price for that unit, very disappointed.

No way to call local facility. If walk in, have to wait in line for similar amounts of time. Not everything can be done on line.

Facility also had nothing extra available to rent since the one I had was too small. It forced me to change facilities to a non- uhaul place because none near by had available bigger units.

There are only 4 access slots,1 is handicap, to get to the storage building. And sometimes the rental trailers are blocking or partially blocking access to those slots. The storage building itself is clean and easy to get around in.

You need to do le your staff during peak work hours ti a complete. I had a moving company to move in my things. Delayed 1 hr due to lack of staffing, errors in unit being available, time to get access.and doymove. The gentleman who helped me was as helpful as he could be and very polite and the lack of staffing g was not his problem.too many behicles.coming in, inspections needed needed outside and they were only 2 at the front desk as well? Not good enough. Fantastic storage facility,setup and everything.it is above average on that.the staging issue is management issue. .

Closing out my account was apparently a two day and multiple phone call process and I have yet to receive my refund on money spent. The day I was closing out apparently only one person was able to take care of me despite there being multiple employees working the counter. Will not be recommending this site to anyone looking to utilize storage or rent from as they don’t seem much interested in the customer.

The reason we wanted inside climate controlled storage was to avoid damage like this our property. I will never use uhaul again and will never recommend uhaul to anyone i know and like.

The off-loading area was covered and convenient to the elevator, so I was able to unload my 16' truck within a couple of hours.
Chris K | Online Move InAll thought the facility is listed as 24 hour access, the storage facility is only accessible during the business hours for the truck rentals. Both times I have gone to access stuff into storage, I have had to go to the rental office wait in line and ask that the storage be opened as the access codes for the doors do not work. The office staff is less than happy about having to walk over to the storage to open it, the last time taking more than 30 minutes to come and open it. The unit has a large rat trap sitting in it, not what I would expect a unit ready to rent should have.
