This rental was an expereince for me. My car rental facility did not tell me of the towing equipment needed to be able to hitch the U-Haul to my rental and Marisol was insanely helpful. She walked my father and I through what we would need to get that morning so the U-Haul could hitch to my rental truck. She was patient, kind, and knowledgeable and made the entire horrible experience a fantastic one.Brittany B.

This is the second time in a row i've had an issue with a rental. With my last rental there was wet garbage left in the truck. Now with this rental the passenger door trim kept completely falling off and the seats inside the cab were full of dog hair. There were cigarettes ashes in the cup holders at pickup as well as the location didn't have the utility dolly that I reserved. I had to go to another location to pick up the dolly as well I was charged more to drop it off at the original location that I reserved it from. Have car available if it has been reserved. I had reserved a 20 feet truck with an appliance dolly and regular dolly the day prior. Once I went to pick up only thing available were dollies. No truck. Went to a second location where employee made reservation for a available one called to make sure reservation went thru and confirmed. The professionalism and communication of this location is so poor. Nobody in the front when we got there and if it wasn't for a gentlemen grabbing someone then we would've waited longer. The drop off was worse the lady catching an attitude and giving half answers. Don't like customer service then pass me to someone else. How ridiculous.pedro R.

While the location was great The truck was awful. It seemed like the transmission would go out at any moment . The noise it made and sounds had us scared the entire time that it would break down . Also we received a call on 9/27/22 asking is why we hadn't returned the truck. We returned the truck the same day at 2pm so it seems nobody ever checked it in. The young lady who called said she would go look to make sure the truck was there and call me back and never did. I just received the receipt a hour later.Vinson H.

The individual checking in my drop-off was very helpful and customer-focused. I highly recommend her. What was frustrating is that you changed my drop-off location from 0.5 miles from my destination to 9 miles away. I spent more than an hour on phone with UHaul customer service (both national and local) and was unable to resolve. Unfortunately, this caused me to miss my flight from Midway and incur a significant fee on Lyft to return to my pre-flight destination. I've rented from UHaul many times and this experience was very disappointing.JOHN M.

When I walked into the store, there were 2 "women" behind the counter and 2 men in front of the counter I thought were customers. I was not greeted, acknowledged, or spoken to. After 10-15 minutes, I asked if this is where I need to pick up a car dolly? No answer. Then the 2 men, who were employees of U-Haul, stood up & went about some business, I guess. I had previously called to make sure the dolly was there, "U-Haul, please hold." never to be picked up again. Called 3 times & the same thing. On hold for 20 minutes. When I was at the store, I saw the woman do the same thing 3 more times and never pick back up a call. In-excusable! Finally, some young man waited on me, and I got the dolly after a long wait. I had pre-registered, paid, and had all my paperwork in order, but had to go through the process again. Not that I am 72 years of age, this was the worst experience I have ever had dealing with a company. The dolly was old, (a lot of new ones there) but this is what I was given. The secure straps for the front wheels were so tattered and worn, they barely secured the tires in the ratchets. If this was my store, a lot of people would be out of work. The WORST! I am so glad we moved out of the City from Hell, Chicago!Douglas M.

When I arrived for paperless check-in I was shown my rental truck which was behind 2 other trucks with zero room to move my rental truck. The young lady said she'd have to move the others and then went into the office and never came back out. Finally another employee noticed me just waiting around and ultimately she went in to get a bunch of keys then moved the other trucks. What can UHaul do? Well, when promising a vehicle is reserved and available please make sure one doesn't need a helicopter to get it out of the parking lot.Keith E.

Very frustrated with the U-Haul Scheduling organization. I wanted to pick up the trailer in Naperville, IL but I was told that there were no one-way 5x8 trailers in the area and the closest was about 39 miles away in the Bridgeport Neighborhood on the South side of Chicago. It took 1hr and 10 minutes to drive to the facility and another 1hr and 20min to drive home. Hard to believe that this was the closest facility in the Chicago metro area that had a one-way trailer. There must be 40 U-Haul locations in the Chicago area, hard for me to believe that this was the closest option. There are 14 U-Haul locations within 10 miles of my house.Gerald S.

I was never told that the access hours wasn’t 24-7. I was unloading after moving all day. I started about 8.40p and was heavily delayed as there wasn’t enough carts or other equipment to move items upstairs where my unit was located; After finishing taking several loads up, I had been delayed further as the elevators were extremely slow. At the 10pm mark not realizing that the access changed, I went back to the elevator to go back down to get my last load and waited on the elevator for 15 minutes. I then called for assistance but no one ever responded. I walk down from 3rd floor through the stairs and the hallway was completely dark. I missed a step and fell. I got outside realizing I hadn’t lock my unit but upon trying to go up and close/lock my unit, I never could. I had to get up early the next morning and get there as soon as it open having concerns with my unit being open and needed to finishing unloading still needing to turn in my uhaul truck.Greg R. | First Impressions

My experience was horrible. I reserved the storage online, but when I got to the storage facility the employees were not helpful with giving me the correct storage. They gave me a storage that was occupied by someone else. (4648) I then retain another unit and informed them which unit it was. They never made the correction, so I was forced to pay $200 for a unit I never had and my unit was only $95 plus $10 for insurance. I informed the personal several times in person and by phone that the had me under the wrong unit. Everytime they said they'll correct it, but never did. So basically I was paying someone else storage bill. Then when I went to move out my storage they had the audacity to have a lock on it, but said my storage was listed as unoccupied, so if that's the case WHY DID THEY HAVE A LOCK ON TOP OF MY LOCK?? Storage locker I was assigned had broken locking mechanism, found this AFTER we move stuff in and tried to lock it. Then, when we told manager we were assigned a new storage space that was smaller, and that had a large pillar which made it even smaller. She had told us it was the same size and it was not. The move out date listed is incorrect. Storage was full of rat droppings. Attempted to bill me on a couple occasions after the move out date. I never received paperwork when I terminated the storage contract.
