I rented from said location so I could have a 9' cargo van as reserved. no van was available so I was given a 10' small truck. if I knew van was not going to be available, i would of rented a truck closer to my home and saving me a minimum of $50 in mileage and gas and 1 1/2 hours of driving. why make a reservation if company cant provide what is being reserved. Why does the customer need to pay for the companies error or lack of service. extremely disappointed

Service was great. With short notice, dropped off 2 containers. Was able to cram everything into 1, so was only charged for 1. Was picked up the next day and closing on the house was the day after that. Service on delivery beat initial estimate, and once we let U-Haul know it was empty and ready came the very next day.

I rented a 9 foot cargo van. The first van I was given the keys to there was maintenance that needed to be done. The pressure tire light was on and oil change was overdue. The second van I was given the keys to also needed an oil change. The employee who was helping me seemed annoyed that I was bringing these issues to his attention.

have used uhaul for many moves. first time using this location. if you have a storage unit and use a uhaul vehicle to move your belongings you pay for one way ( explanation from clerk and poster on wall) the clerk did up my pre bill as such but when i returned it the manager added the other way. will never use uhaul again.

The staff was wonderful, very patient and knowledgeable. Being FORCED to use the app was awful, frustrating, slow, not user friendly, truly added anxiety to an already anxious time for anyone dealing with moving. We were forced to use the app to pick up the truck. You should warn people to add an extra 30-45 minutes just to get the truck, keys, find the truck, upload license, on and on. It's an insane way to do business.

Folks here were very kind and helpful and patient - even in face of several folks in line moaning about tech-based systems. Understood that my old cell phone is not ideal for using apps and does not use QR codes at all. Did their very best to help me get my van and get on my way. Most grateful!
But UHaul as a company should NOT force folks to use online phone-based systems to pick up vehicles. Some people don't own phones because of poverty or otherwise - or don't know how to use technology. Unfair condition to simply rent a truck - especially when no advance notice that it is required.

Very unhappy with this last visit. I rented a trailer. I had planned to return it by 1330 but was delayed. I asked my wife to call to see if there would be an extra charge for a later return. She was told no because the rental is actually for 24 hrs (not explained at rental btw). I ended up returning it after 1730. I then saw a charge for $103. I looked at the receipt and was charged twice. I called and I was told it was their mistake. I had those extra funds in that account allocated for something else, now I have to wait for a refund that could take up to five days, if I even get it. A huge inconvenience for a trailer rental.

The trailer was in fair condition, just normal use scuff marks on the walls, but the floor was clean. The front wall bumper was hanging off, but we re-installed it - tapped it in with a hammer. Overall experience was good. My only issue has to do with my account, which I will take up with UHaul later.

This was the most stressful move we’ve had so far, and we’ve moved a lot, but our interaction with this Uhaul on Walnut Bottom Rd was one of the best customer service experiences I’ve ever had. They went above and beyond. He helped my fried brain make decisions on what equipment I needed to rent by asking practical questions. He wasn’t a pushy salesman, he really wanted me to get only what I needed, and nothing more. I would highly recommend them to anyone! Thank you for being a breath of fresh air during a difficult time.

Well I was disappointed in the fact that you can only use a smart phone to p/u reservation. We do not have a smart phone but the wonderful person in the business did in fact help us even though she didn't have to. When I made the reservation on line I did not see anywhere where it states that you need a smart phone for anything to do with picking up a Uhaul. Next time I need a rental I will need to find another company.

Make sure at the destination if the customer requests an early drop off, the drop off warehouse is accommodating. Or offer more options for drop off dates. Some people have to move at a moments notice and cannot wait two weeks for their goods to arrive. Better communication between pick up and drop off locations as well as drivers and dispatch would be good as well.

My storing experience with U-haul was great! I couldn't have asked for a better storage facility. I rented my unit after having two u-boxes shipped here from out of state. Having everything indoors was super ideal. Being able to unload my u-boxes inside then moving everything into a storage unit on my own timeframe was great. I had to store my stuff here for about a year and 8 months until I moved into a bigger house, and not once was my rent raised, so thank you for that! I also really enjoyed having the indoor loading bay, I've never seen that before at other storage facilities, but that made for a pleasant experience, especially when the weather wasn't ideal. If I ever need to store anything again, I will definitely be coming back here. Thanks! Oh, and most importantly, my stuff that I was storing here, didn't get damaged while in storage. Everything stayed how it was, and the building didn't leak or anything like that. An overall great experience, from getting my u-boxes shipped here and to storing my belongings for a while. Thanks again!

I've said this before in prior reviews, but Seth in particular is top notch. He was very patient with me when I got my first unit 2 years ago. My husband had always dealt with the storage units we used periodically and I had no clue how to do anything. He took the time to physically come show me each step. I had to get a 2nd unit for use during a remodel and I didn't look anywhere else. Should I ever need storage again I'll be back.

The facility itself is clean and easy to find. However, I did have an issue with our move-in as they had cancelled are our reservations and were were left with a truck and our items and no where to go. Full Story: We went in person to check-in and rent a box truck. Got the truck, the garage clicker, access code, and lock for the storage unit. Fast forward to after we loaded our truck up and returned to the facility to empty our belongings into our unit and return the truck. Upon arrival, we could not access anything as we did not have a valid rental agreement. They had cancelled them all. I spent an hour on the phone with 5 agents and we ended up just leaving the truck on the lot with our stuff in it, as we would be responsible for the late drop off and extra mileage to drive home. So we had to go back the next day and explain the situation again. The manager at this facility was very helpful and did what she could. I am now fighting U-Haul on the extra charges beyond our control.

I had THE BEST customer service experience by the ladies working at the desk! They were so helpful and polite. Excellent staff! On top of that, I had carts to assist in moving my belongings!!! And it was nice that a lock was provided! I had my own, but didn't need it. Thank you so much for making this experience so easy, because moving is anything but easy! Blessings!!!

I got roaches and diff bugs crawling and killed from my belongings after being moved. Theres now an awful cat urine smell and ive never owned a cat. The hours are awful to people who work all day and cant gethere during the day or nightshifts who only function at night time. The people are rude. Call 50 times a day if ypur a day late on payment but waiting hours or days for them to do their job and unlock it. Worse storage experience ive had my entire lofe so far.

Only issue was that the communication about accessing the building did not indicate that there were two key pads we needed to enter our code into: one to “check-in” and one to open the doors.
We had to call to get assistance.

All the other staff members at the location (1180 Walnut Bottom Rd, Carlisle, PA 17015) I’m renting are an absolute delight. Very helpful understanding and resolved any of my issues very quickly. The young man who helped me at the location in Carlisle Pennsylvania was beyond polite and helpful. Very friendly, showed me everything that I needed to know about my storage area. I've never stored anything in a facility like yours. I would venture to say that there would be less risk of infection doing surgery there been in any Hospital. Very clean!

I only needed the unit for a short time in between moving, so I didn't have the same experience as someone looking for long term storage, so I gave 4 stars, as I don't really have a frame of reference. However, this was all super convenient - I never even *had* to actually go into the office other than closing out my account, and going to get a clicker when the garage doors were fixed. Would definitely do this again, as I received the unit at no cost for a full month when I rented the moving truck.

It's fun walking in here and remembering it as K-Mart. A little eerie when you're the only one in the facility, but there are cameras EVERYWHERE, which makes me feel safer. They provide complementary carts and an automatic entry door after hours. They also offer special insurance, which I recommend purchasing. The free lock was also awesome to receive. My only concern was the restroom that I used - it smelled pretty weird (like the fan/vent wasn't working properly) and there were no paper towels left. Toilet paper was abundant though, and the soap was full. Maybe I just picked a bad one to use, as there are a few restrooms in the facility.

Welp, lemme give it to ya straight. I hate moving more than I hate my mother...& lemme tell ya..driving a car into a telephone pole at 150mph is more soothing than being around her.. but anyways. You guys made it so easy to hide my annoying mother during the move. The storage was Convenient, cheap, & roomie. With all that.. clutter gone..my house has never been so quiet. Drive in bay doors kept the harsh cold weather out and provided for a discreet & shaded moving experience, under all 17 aliases & paid help. You guys are wonderful for taking the time to make sure your customers are happy no questions asked. The women was so kind

Only 1 promotion while others have multiple to benefit multiple situations. Prices are decent but still way to expensive to not have half the amenities as other less known facilities. The access times suck for people who work nights and do most priorities and stuff at night. If im paying i should be able to access my belongings anytime i want otherwise you should cut prices or your company should be paying for insurances since its apparently your property half of the time im paying for it anyway. Do better uhaul. Very disappointed and annoyed.

The only problem is the lock we bought was not easy to use with the key which eventually broke off in the lock and we had to pay a locksmith to cut it off. Also the door handle was not easy to get closed. It did not slide easily and took some effort and patience to get closed.

Office person was unclear about how to access storage room. They did give a map and outlined the route to take. Didn't not mention or say anything about a key card for security system. Never received a key card to gain access to storage facility.

This place met my needs. the General Manager is a super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful guy. When I moved in, he was very accommodating to me and it is evident he wants his customers to be happy with the service they provide. I recently moved out of my storage unit I was able to complete the check-out process quickly and easily. My only issue with this storage facility was that my unit was placed all the way in the back of the facility and I had to weave around a lot of corridors when moving my belongings in / out (which was A LOT of stuff from a 3 bed/1800 sq. ft home). It was a several minute walk from my unit to the loading area where we could pull the truck into, so that was incredibly inconvenient and frustrating when mopving in and out. Upon moving into my storage unit a few months ago, the employee helping me told me there were other units closer to the loading area that were available, but he couldn't figure out how to change it in the computer system so I was stuck all the way in the back. That was my main issue... but other than that, this place got the job done and I appreciate the GM's help and knowledge.

The army veteran who works there is extremely nasty in attitude and treatment of others. He stared at me while I finished a phone conversation on speaker while moving out. He then tried to blame me for split water that he asked if I had done on purpose? I said of course not, do you want help cleaning it? And he didn’t even want any help and had a cleaning person available. I would of not use this facility. Not enough cameras on the inside. And that guy does not belong in customer service and clearly hates his job and other people.

I didn't have my homeowner's insurance policy number with me when I initiated the contract and the customer service rep told me I could call back with my policy and have it credited back to my account. I called back the next day and provided my policy number and the CSR told me I would see a credit for the next month's bill. When I got the next month's statement, I didn't see a credit and called the facility. I was told I needed to contact UHaul customer service. They proceeded to tell me I would not get a credit for one day of Uhaul insurance. This is the only thing making me leery of using U Haul in the future.

Overall my experience was great. The employees at this location are super friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating and helpful. It made me glad I selected this location over others in the area. They walked me through everything and answered my many questions. The only “negative” was that the computer assigned my storage unit at basically the farthest point away from the unloading area, and when the employees discovered it and found a closer spot for me (which I was sitting there for so I heard it), they couldn’t figure out how to move me from the original storage unit to the closer one. This was a huge bummer as I was moving a lot of stuff and had to make many many trips weaving around the facility from the unload zone. This was frustrating to me, knowing there were open units closer. But it is what it is. I still very much appreciate the employees here. Very very friendly.

I just spoke on the phone General Manager David Burden Jr at 1180 Walnut Bottom Rd Carlisle, PA 17015 about a Unit I have been trying to Close since May 27th. When I spoke with him he advised on May 27th he would do a one time exception and refund me what I paid being I did not use the unit at all and rented a truck. This is not acceptable and I can't accept the decision I was told that I cannot get a refund. I went in the 27th and tried to close unit and the workers at this location said no to wait for David to give me a call after the holiday. I never heard from him until today. I received a call from his worker and went the next day and tried again and was told the same exact thing. This is not my fault that the lock was not taken off when I am being advised not to take it off. I also rented a truck and was supposed to get a month off which is why he stated he would make the exception. I have been dealing with this since May 27th.

Excellent customer service, they made a hectic moving day so much easier. I would highly recommend them, their facility was Exceptionally clean and comfortable, the staff gave me a tour of the layout and showed me one on one how to use the entry system and how to activate the alarm that is individually set for each unit. My overall experience with them was excellent, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to store home goods in a secure, protected area.
