They changed the pick-up city for me. This was a drive for me when I didn't have the time to drive there. I had to call in some favors to pick this up on time. I was charged after this place ruined my planned trip with faulty trailers (plural). I show up to receive a car hauler. The first they gave me CLEARLY had a flat tire and they told me to just take it. Wouldn't even swap the tire with one of their other trailers. Finally convince them to give me one of the other trailers after nearly 1.5 hours of wasting my time. Get the trailer hooked up and go get gas. Bad vibrations coming from the back of the truck at 40-55 mph. Try to add the car (the extra weight should have minimized this) and the vibrations got WAY worse. Unsafe to drive across the 3 states I needed the trailer for. To be sure, my friend burrowed me his trailer around the block and I had ZERO vibration at 45 mph and his trailer is much larger, so we can rule out it was my truck acting up. Take the u-haul trailer back explaining the issue. Ask for a full refund as I am now behind schedule and have to get a different trailer from a different source. Was clearly told I would be fully reimbursed after one of their technicians pointed out an issue in the tire that was likely causing the problems. Manager and rep I talked to argued in the back and then tried to argue with me about charging me a day rate for not one but TWO faulty trailers even though I had the second trailer for about 2.5 hours. Finally they agree to give me a full refund. Get home and check email, that terrible manager charged me anyway. I'm disputing these charges. If I don't receive a full refund, I'm taking this location to small claims over the losses I've incurred during my delayed trip (cost of reservation changes, etc). The manager should be sent to jail, what she did was technically fraud.Robert H.
I ordered the trailer for pick up at Comstock RV in Moundhouse. I received an email and text saying the trailer would be available at the carson city location. Then, I was sent a text to check-in online with the UHaul link or app. Once I checked in, it said the trailer would be ready to pick up at the Comstock RV moundhouse loaction. I went to the Comstock RV moundhouse location Monday morning and called the office twice. Left 1 message. Called the National UHaul number and held for 10 minutes before leaving my number for a call back. I then called the Carson city UHaul to find out if they had my reservation. They did. So I went there to pick it up. By then, the national UHaul number called me back and I explained my experience with the lady on the phone. The Comstock RV UHaul location has not returned my phone call. I understand the national worker shortage. The Carson City UHaul location was definitely busy and felt understaffed. Comstock RV moundhouse was probably closed for Labor Day. The online check -in misled me to where I needed to be Monday morning.James P.

The 9x12 trailer was clearly an older unit based on the cracking paint and numerous war wounds and rust spots but it had a set of four new tires and handled 400 miles of haulage admirably. Great handling, all the lights were in good working order, and the hydraulic brakes reservoir was fully topped up. Clearly, the critical parts were well maintained, even though none of the wheel rims seemed to match. The unit had not been swept broom clean before we picked it up, it was rather filthy inside from the previous renter and we had to clean out their mess ourselves. On checkout, the office printer was out so I received an electronic copy via e-mailâ€¦probably a more effective way to do it anyway. The trailer towed easily and it had four good new tires installed.John M.

I was scheduled to return the trailer at 1 pm. I called at 9 am and asked if I could push that until 3 pm, as I had an unexpected meeting crop up at work. I was told no, it was booked. I took off work and returned the trailer at 1230. They moved it over with the other 4 just like it. All 4 were still there when I drove by at 4 pmâ€¦â€¦..thanksâ€¦.Glen A.

Not really this location's fault as the counter folks did everything they could to help. I pre booked a car hauler trailer in Reno THREE MONTHS beforehand, AND prepaid, but the day before they switched me to Carson City 30 miles away!. Then Carson City doesn't have one available! Just got lucky one unexpectedly was dropped off early as I was leaving. Making it worse, a friend made the same reservation later than me, did NOT prepay, and his was still available in the original Reno location. Uhaul logistics management is horrible. Unfortunately there are few other options.Mark H.

I was given a moving company's referral from Uhaul's site to call and have them unload our truck. 3 calls to these jerks at Tetris Movers out of Reno NV and they never showed up, they never called us to tell us they were running late. 3 TIMES we had to call them when they were late to the time they said they would be here and 3rd time the guy refused to answer the phone. We kept the truck an extra day so we could get it unloaded and this clown screwed us over. THEN I went to the Uhaul store because I sat on hold for over an hour and never got a reply even though while I was on hold, the store counter person answered the phones twice. Then I asked to speak to the manager because I wanted a refund for the day I had to keep the truck because of your moving company who never showed. I ended up having to find someone off the streets to unload it for me. I STILL CANNOT GET YOUR DAMN STORE MANAGER TO CALL ME BACK! I have called and left messages in person at the store and each time the manager is mysteriously out of the store. I have been told 4 times now that the manager will call me back and 2 days later I still haven't gotten a call from her. This is unacceptable. At this point I want a refund for the entire amount because your company has screwed me over multiple ways and has treated me and my fiance like crap. And yes, the movers, while not Uhaul employees are listed and recommended and partnered with Uhaul and on the Uhaul website. I expect someone from corporate to call me immediately at 775-883-4131 to get this resolved.WARREN TODD M.

UHAUL canceled my reservation twice. If you don't have the equipment please change your website so that it doesn't accept reservations. The only good thing about my recent U-Haul experience was the amazing staff at the William Street location in Carson City. Everything else about it was awful. But your staff really saved the day. You owe them a debt of gratitude. If it wasn't for them I would honestly say that I will never use U-Haul again. This has been an awful terrible experience.Lorin T.

They didn't have the truck I reserved. Was given a smaller one. They quoted me a lower price after I asked twice, print out was never signed because their WIFI wasn't working. I returned the truck before closing same day. They made me do it online return even though 2 people were at the desk. Online wouldn't work. Tried 3 times. Left keys in drop box. They then charged me after hours fee and doubled my original printout quote when I recieved receipt next day. It's unacceptable and I need the balance back ASAP.tonya W.

After getting my truck, I found a baseball hat and a water bottle on the passenger side so it was apparent that the truck had not been cleaned. I wiped it down and threw away the water bottle. CLEAN THE EQUIPMENT, THE PANDEMIC ISN'T OVERToni W.

I was given the incorrect dolly for the type of car that I needed to tow I had to make two trips from Southlake Tahoe to Carson City to pick up the equipment on a split and was not reimbursed for my time, gas or mileage accrued on truck. RIpOFF.Terrylynne T.

I found it off-putting, that I was given an access card for accessIng the roll-down storage units within a fenced-in area; but could only access the storage units during business hours! The map and paperwork stated the site was accessible from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, which was not true and was incorrect! I consequently made a wasted, 80-mile round trip to the storage unit...wasting 3 hours of my valuable time, to load a trailer (a UHaul trailer no less), drive there, and not get access. To make matters worse, the signage at the property had the phone number listed of a previous manager (who was quite polite!), and she gave me the number to the new General Manager, who was not happy to be getting a call after hours. Seemed dismissive of my frustrations. This was a verbal communication blunder upon getting the unit, and a printed error problem on both the maps, and the signage at the electronic gate (on the fence). The only good result of this, was that the assistant manager was able to provide a remedy to my displeasure.Michael V. | Overall Experience
