If I got to talk to the store I was trying to book my rental from, everything was fine. If I got switched to a corporate number and tried talking to them, that was a different story, and not a good one.Mike J.
The representative greeted me, in the drive through, and offered help right away after I got out of the truck (we rented a trailer) before I needed to walk into the store, it was freezing outside, he offered to have me wait in my truck while he got his phone (for online drop off ) and account settled. I changed location of drop off close to my work at a facility that opened early enough for the drop off to have me make it to work on time. Process was quick and easy, simple to figure out. Provide us with a truck that works, get the dates and size of truck correct. This was a horrible experience. 8 hours of wasted time while paying movers to sit around because they couldn't get a tow truck. 4 1/2 hours later the "fixed it" . Finally got to the new house. Offloaded the truck went back for the second load. Truck died again. At least three hours later they picked up the dead truck and we had to get another one, much smaller the next day. Wasted a whole day again. Went to reruns the second truck around 1 pm. It's now 6:05 pm and just leaving now. So frustrating. I spent four hours on the phone with every department possible with Uhaul. What a racket.Erin D.

The oil light was on when I picked up the truck and I was told not to worry about it. Our movers never showed up so we were late returning the truck. We tried to call several times over a three hour period and nobody answered the phone (2:30 pm to 5:30 pm). I now have $278 in extra fees for equipment that was returned with the truck. When we dropped off our truck,your team member, a young man, was inspecting the truck. We had stated we didn't use the dolly because we bought one in the U-Haul store when we picked up the truck. He was trying to make sure it was adjusted off our bill. A blonde woman employee, walked up to the employee and my husband, and stated"What's the problem?" The young man asked if she could help remove the dolly charge. She said" I've showed you a thousand times. You know how to do it!!!" She then told my husband and myself, that he was incompetent, and he knows how to do this... The young man said "Don't worry about it I'll figure it out on my own". He told us he would make sure it got adjusted off. He was very upset and embarrassed, but still did his job professionally. She on the other hand scoffed at him and made my husband and I feel very uncomfortable. If this would have happened at my job, the woman speaking to the male, would have been terminated immediately. There were only 3 employees working that day. 1st at the reception counter, 2nd the gentleman inspecting trucks and 3rd the blonde that drove up in the golf cart berating the man employee. I've rented from this location many times. The experience has been generally good, with the best service when they're not busy and the worst when they're really busy and you have to wait in line even though you've made an online reservation with a specific rental start time. Use the UHaul App to reserve your rental, identify your supplies, enter your drivers license (upload photo front and back) and that makes things go a little faster, especially if everyone ahead of you has done that too.John M.

Even though the gentleman we dealt with said he only worked there 3 days, he did a wonderful job with a little help from the lady that runs the place I am sorry I can't remember her name, something like Christine but you know who she is and deserves recognition of doing a wonderful job. I give you a 100% review! Just keep doing what your doing, so many companies forgot what customer service is really about. We were treated respectfully, courteously and was given everything we made a reservation for without having to go to two or three different locations to get our reservation. I will give U-Haul credit for having good employees, but have to thank the few employees willing to work through some of the toughest times of our lives and still be good people. With the workforce being lazy, worthless, self involved people who have no idea the importance of good customer service, and since I have worked in customer service almost all my life, I appreciate getting some of it back.Francine P.
Rented a 15' truck. Drove just over 6 miles. Put 2 gallons of gas and I was charged an additional $12. for fuel. When I questioned the employee, she said â€œThese trucks get really bad gas mileageâ€ I'm a former Uhaul rep. And I can say with experience. Uhaul trucks get about 7 mi to the gallon. Even loaded. I reserved an AO. That female was not helpful. I picked up a different one than I reserved. I didn't like the way it pulled. I called they said I had to wait until morning cause I already drove away. Then I called at 4am talked to someone they saved one for me at a different location. I got screwed and was charged for the one that I confided unsafe for my vehicle. I waited until the place opened and they said everything was rented. I pointed out my rental paperwork of the AO. Somehow it was fine and I rented the one I wanted and needed to begin with! I was able to reserve a 10x10 storage unit online. When I got to the facility I was told that just because the system let me make a reservation did not mean they had one available. I was actually 5th in line for a unit that size. This left me scrambling to find a suitably sized storage unit on the day of the move. When we first rented our storage unit we put the wrong lock on it. They put their own lock on it and locked us out of our unit. Also when we went into our unit I had 17 containers that were plastic and labeled someone went through all of my containers they pushed our refrigerator to the side which was brand new and the scratch was put on the side of the refrigerator. Because we purchased a new condo after selling our home and had to sell our remainder appliances. When we ended up selling our items out of our unit there was extreme amount of mouse droppings in our unit. And also when we rented the unit it was not cleaned out. During the process our unit went up in cost due to maintenance seeing and also extermination. Which when we were at the unit up and down the aisle there was a bunch of screws nails and bolts that we literally had to pick up and push aside so we wouldn’t get one in our tire of our vehicle. The gates are left open on the far side when some construction work was going on which was totally inappropriate because we felt like our unit wasn’t safe. What is the purpose of having a key card to get in when anyone can get it. I found it off-putting, that I was given an access card for accessIng the roll-down storage units within a fenced-in area; but could only access the storage units during business hours! The map and paperwork stated the site was accessible from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM, which was not true and was incorrect! I consequently made a wasted, 80-mile round trip to the storage unit...wasting 3 hours of my valuable time, to load a trailer (a UHaul trailer no less), drive there, and not get access. To make matters worse, the signage at the property had the phone number listed of a previous manager (who was quite polite!), and she gave me the number to the new General Manager, who was not happy to be getting a call after hours. Seemed dismissive of my frustrations. This was a verbal communication blunder upon getting the unit, and a printed error problem on both the maps, and the signage at the electronic gate (on the fence). The only good result of this, was that the assistant manager was able to provide a remedy to my displeasure.Michael V. | Overall Experience

The only annoyance was the gate access system. I had two different storage units. Each time, the access did not work at first. The staff said it sometimes takes 5-10 minutes to provision.
