The truck was dirty, which is no big deal. We were going to the mountains anyway. The fellow who helped me was very nice. Only issue was that I had requested some rental blankets, and they were not put out, but we were not charged either. But since we really needed them, once we got to our destination, I had to find a U-Haul location and go get them. That location in Oxnard did not put the blankets onto my moving account, and then it didn’t look like they were returned in the system. If not for a U-Haul customer service representative, I wouldn’t have known that until I was charged for them. Moving is not easy ever, and this was the only real issue.

Great experience with this U-haul service. Easy pickup easy drop off , Nice front desk people & good condition of the van I received . Only suggestion is to take care of cleanness of the vehicle. Otherwise I’m fully satisfied as a first timer 👍🏼

This will never happen but should. When a vehicle leaves the lot it should be FULL. This would make it so much easier for those of us having to guesstimate at the pump. Invariably, I return the van with more fuel than was indicated when I left the lot... I think. Get it?

Another 5star experience with uHaul Chatsworth CA!! Angel helped me out this time, and just like Everytime, I was taken care of the best possible way! Angel is very efficient, polite, professional and thorough with all details to make sure you are clear with everything. I really enjoy working with this team and have done well over 20 rentals with this location. And not 1 bad experience. Every single staff is absolutely amazing! Thank you all so much. I had a horrible experience reserving and using the UHaul app. The last time I had used uhaul was a few years back and I don't recall the process being so convoluted and unreliable. The way you reserve vehicles makes it extremely unclear whether you are booking a one way or in town rental. At the location I was directed to initially, the vehicle I had requested was not available and the reservation was not easily transferable by the person working at the office. He called a rep who transferred my reservation to an entirely different location which was extremely inconvenient. If I had been on a time crunch for my pickup it would have resulted in at least an hour twenty minute delay. Furthermore, this reservation was made without me being informed any of the details, such as whether this was an in town or one way rental etc. all in all the experience was extremely unpleasant and I do not think I will be electing to use uhaul for my truck rental needs in the future. To be clear, I have no complaints with the location I visited or any of the employees who helped us that day; just the system itself.

This location and experience was absolutely perfect. However, I am very disappointed when initially scheduling for my U-Haul rental online the original place I chose did not have a vehicle ready for me as stated in my reservation. That is how I got diverted to the Chatsworth location. It cost me about an extra hour of my time today. So that was a bit frustrating. But the overall experience at Chatsworth was great.

The equipment was clean, but the truck was not in very good repair. The shocks were very bad and the steering wheel had way too much free play in it. I have rented from this location before and the trucks have always been very comfortable, but this one needs to be retired. It was a terribly bumpy ride, and there were horrible, squeaks and noises inside the cab.

1. Vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana. 2. Parts were missing. 3. Extremely dirty, to the point where I had to wash the vehicle. 4. The charging system (alternator) light was on. 5. My vehicle was blocked in, and it took me 10 minutes to get out because they wouldn’t move the other vans. 6. Was given an old van because I refused to purchase their insurance, even though I provided proof of two forms of coverage. 7. The staff were friendly.

There was a quite a bit of broken glass that was hard to see in the truck. Maybe do a walkthrough inspection of the back. No big deal to sweep up, but we had to be thorough because it was glass.

I use this location frequently. As a general comment I think every store that rents vehicles should see to it that tanks are full when they leave the yard. That way it's easy for the customer to return it with a full tank. When vehicles leave the yard with anything less than full, the customer has to struggle to not pay too little or too much for fuel to replenish to whatever level is noted. I usually bring my vehicle back to the yard containing a little more fuel than it contained when I picked the vehicle up. Which means I paid more than I had to.

I moved out, because every time I went to use my unit, I was hassled and harassed by day laborers. Often times they even block the entrance to the parking lot. Terrible experience. The staff is helpful, and other than being understaffed often, they were fine

The light in the storage unit area is on a motion detector so it goes off shortly after you are outside of its line of sight. Initially, my experience was terrible due to some extremely bad treatment I received from an employee and the manager being only somewhat helpful. I was weary every time I had to return there. Thankfully, there must've been a change in management and employees because from my third revisit onward, everyone was exceedingly friendly, helpful and polite.

The new manager at the Chatsworth location is horrible. The rest of the staff is nice. I will never use that facility again due to Timothy Grady. Also, the lights shut off within a minute, so I hit my head because it went dark when I was retrieving things from my storage unit. Completely unsafe

The manager was polite but condescending. He initially couldn’t find my reservation and then didn’t acknowledge he found it and made me feel like it was my fault and I did it all wrong. After I saw the unit, I went in to speak to him because it was too small. He initially told me that he didn’t have a larger one when he had just told me that there was one bigger when he couldn’t find my original booking. The reality was he was having trouble finding it but could only admit that much later. I apologize for us getting off on the wrong foot, which was glad to accept, but he did not reciprocate in any way, so I gave up pursuing that path. A few hours later, as I was unloading, his employee ignored me as I tried to ask him 3x why he was walking around my trailer. When he finally responded, he was totally disrespectful. He rudely told me he worked there, as if that gave the right to do whatever he wanted to and dismissed people who speak to him. This angered me so I called him on that and he just upped his rude attitude. I told him he must hate his job and he physically threatened me. I then told him I’d call the police but he didn’t seem to care. The manager came by right then and I told him what happened and all he did was tell his employee not to talk to me. There was no apologies offered and his employee was reprimanded in any way. The manager did give me an extra day on my trailer rental for free. I needed that because all their storage units were much smaller than I expected and the only other unit available was slightly bigger than the one I’d originally rented. I thought of finding another place to storage but I had to return the trailer there so I really had no choice. I wasn’t told it was on the upper level so I had to spend a lot of time negotiating what I could actually put in the space. The whole experience didn’t make me feel valued as a person but as just another nameless faceless customer who clearly doesn’t have feelings and shouldn’t speak out their thoughts when they’re being mistreated. It is also clearly a place that has a culture that promotes not admitting to doing anything wrong and never apologizing, and that offering additional days free makes up for it.

Top floor storage hard to get to , needing to use a ladder to bring up items to be stored. Entrance size to storage unit not listed, it was doorway sized, not the full width of the unit. Unit, even though it was taller than bottom unit, not meant for heavy boxes since the boxes would have to be carried up a ladder.... Big safety issue!

I had to cancel my request as the doors were broken and I couldn’t access the storage unit. I needed to off load stuff that day and couldn’t wait 24 hours for haul to fix the doors. The customer service rep apologized for the inconvenience. He was very polite.

Highest recommend possible. Fantastic customer service, from manager Corey and all staff we encountered. Accommodating and helpful. Secure building, which is great, as our storage units at Public Storage were broken into 3 times this year. Especially convenient setup when you need to rent a truck or trailer and your storage unit is right there at the same facility - and first months rent was free because we did rent a trailer - that’s how we found out about their storage facility - a $150 savings! Clean facility, well lit. On a scale of 5 stars, we actually give it 10 stars. Well done u-haul!! Personal request - Please build bigger units, we’d love to move all of our storage needs to you. Thank you for providing exceptional service 🙏
