The Clinton location was great and I do not want my experiences with U-Haul to reflect negatively on these employees. The employee Tanille (sp.) was exemplary and what U-Haul should strive to hire at all locations. In my recent U-Haul experience, such outstanding employees are unfortunately the exception rather than the rule. The ladies who worked in the morning went above and beyond to help get us ready to go. We had trouble getting the online option to work, because we didn't realize that we would need references to hold the vehicle and they were not awake in the different time zone. Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, my U-box arrived almost a week later, which reading the reviews beforehand I assumed would happen. What I was not prepared for was the wild goose chase of finding the pod that was late. I had to call each day and be transferred to a new part of Uhaul to hopefully get some information about where my U-box was located. After being transferred to another store, the story was always we don't have information or can't give you this information at this time. I hope in the future there is a better way to track the U-box and customer service understand this part of the Uhaul business.DANIEL H.

Kept trying to send me a text link...since when does the customer do your employees job? They smoked while I waited for a text link to check for damage on my reservation truck before I could leave to move. And no gas cap.... and I filled up gas over what I received / returned truck with. The lady (purple hair) there is very friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to help with a storage unit. The guy I dropped the truck off to could of told me I could file a claim with uhaul about the truck leaking and soaking my mattress (all I got was we are sorry about that)CHENOA W.

The power steering on the truck was going out. The air conditioner didn't work properly and the speedometer wasn't close to being accurate. Also, there was so much noise from air leaks in the cab, I couldn't even hear the radio. Worst rental vehicle experience I've ever had. When I reported these issues to the receiving agent, she said, â€œI'll tell them.â€ But, since she didn't write anything down, I really doubt that any improvements will be made.JOSEPH LYNN L.

I ask one of the ladies at the front desk to assist and she acted as if it was just too much for her. I just submitted a lengthy comment about how unacceptable the conditions were! This was a terrible experience. I'm not going to write it all again but I was sent out in an unsafe Uhaul truck and I could have been in an accident due to the unsafe conditions! See my last review and someone from Corporate needs to contact me (NOT THAT LOCATION)!!!!DANIELLE J.
First of all , I shouldn't have had to go that far out of my way for pick up when I requested the one in Troy, MI about a month in advance! Next, when I was trying to explain my issue and ask questions about the vehicle, the manager was not empathetic towards my situation. She was cold and cut me off when I was explaining what I needed and trying to ensure the truck was ready for my long trip. Because of her less than friendly disposition I stopped with my questions as she assured me the vehicle was fine and just went ahead and checked out. I was wrong to take her word because I had a tire blow out on the highway later that evening!!! I had only gotten to Indiana from Michigan and I had to travel all the way to Texas!!!!!! Next, my experience with roadside assistance was a mess!!!! That was horrible. I would really like someone to review all my calls and texts over the last week!!! I don't have time to write down every detail because I already have texts, calls, and uploaded pictures and videos that document my concerns. Again, it was a terrible experience. I was put in an unsafe Uhaul truck to drive. The tire that blew out was completely bald! The tow truck driver that came out to fix the tire was told wrong information and had to go back and get a different tire because Uhaul told his boss the wrong thing. Upon him examining the tire he needed to change, he discovered the other tire in the rear next to the one that blew out also was bald and it would blow out if he didn't change that one, so he had to change both tires. He agreed with me that this was unsafe and these tires never would have gotten me to Texas!!! Again, my safety was compromised. I am thankful I took out ALL the insurances!!! Thank God I didn't hit someone or run into a semi truck or something because I drove about 80 percent of the time in the rain!!! Someone from Corporate, (NOT THAT LOCATION) needs to contact me and provide me an explanation of why my Uhaul was allowed to be driven like that in unsafe conditions and I should be financially compensated for these issues and delay of my trip!!!DANIELLE J.
Both Star and Sarah were fantastic to work with. They were both professional and up beat during our conversations to explain and answer any questions I had. The drop off was fast and very professional. Booked the truck 2 months ago, confirmed 2 days ago but no truck at the time of pickup. They asked me to move my date but I had to vacate that day. So they finally arranged a smaller one (10' instead of 15') but charged almost double the original rate on the same booking number (when asked they were rude, they said the reservation changed due to truck size change so new price. But they are the ones to change the reservation and gave me muchh smaller truck becasue they overbooked the larger ones I reserved). Not an honest business practice. There are many places to rent a truck including 2 major car rental companies. Also the truck had an awful smell and pet hair. No cruise control for a long driveDHAYALAN P.

They were really helpful when I first moved my furniture in and still really excellent in the work that they did when I moved out they treated me with respect as well as I did with them walking into the units was always clean and I thank you for letting me have The experience and storing my furniture I had that kind of climate when it’s cold outside my furniture and everything electronics would be at room temperature when it’s hot outside it will be cool in the storage that I had and it was beautiful so It was no damage done to anything thanks a lot U-Haul and your employees.Tyronda R. | Overall Experience

The on-line elements are fine, but when contacting U-Haul, I found the personnel minimally helpful. Since I would not be present myself at the move-in, the case didn't fit the normal conditions and one person told me "see on-line." Later, another said, "We can't do that [i.e. secure the locker for a couple of days prior to move-in]" until I demanded it. Then she spoke with the supervisor who agreed to put a "red lock" on the unit until move-in day. Problem solved. When I reserved my unit online it said the unit was for a 1-2 bedroom home up to 1200 soft. I even called and talked to a young lady in the office that confirmed the details of the unit. The actual unit size was the size of a closet. I requested for the manager to call me and I never received a call. I screenshot the false advertisement for proof. It made the moving process 1000 times More difficult. I don’t recommend reserving anything online, or calling to confirm details. You need to just go in and see the unit.Leah R. | Online Move In
I had extreme difficulties getting in touch with customer service to get assistance with issue after issue. It's hard to call directly into this location. The first issue was my uncleaned storage unit on move in day. I had to ask for a broom and clean it myself. I also had to ask for a new animal bate box because the one in my unit was apparently not replaced due to all of the cob webs and hugh white spiders that ran from it when I tapped it with the broom. Second issue, I would recommend Uhaul not sponsoring 'Moving Helpers' on your website. I paid over $300 hiring moving helpers for my storage move who never showed up. I then hired a second moving company from Uhaul's website and again, no show. I traveled from Florida to make this move happen in order to get my things loaded in the uboxes from the storage unit and spent over $1200 for this 1 day move and these moving helpers didn't even have curteousy to call to decline or reject the job through Uhaul's portal to give me an opportunity to look for help elsewhere. Needless to say, I went back to Florida without my things. Which leads me to my last issue. On the day of my arrival at Uhaul for my move out of the storage unit and into 3 unboxes for my out-of-state move, 2 out of my uboxes had no furniture covers that were to come with the uboxes. The third ubox had damaged hardware on the box that made it impossible for me to put a lock on it due to the hardware being bent and hanging on by 1 screw. It was a terrible experience! Had my moving help shown up, I couldn't have completed my move because I didn't have access to a third ubox that I paid for due to the broken hardware. This entire experience was a big negative for me. I don't think I'd recommend this location due to the poor attention paid to the ubox when delivering it and the nastiness of the storage unit that had all of those nasty white spiders and old bait animal box, but the unit was tagged saying something along the lines of cleaned and ready for customer. However, I must say that the employees who work here were extremely helpful and respectful, at least the ones I had direct contact and I know some of these issues were beyond their control, such as the third party moving helpers. My suggestion to new customers is don't use the third party helpers on Uhaul's website because if something goes wrong, Uhaul will be quick to dismiss your concerns and complaints telling you that they have nothing to do with the moving helpers and to contact them. Lastly, I did try to contact Uhaul to resolve this issue before leaving feedback. My issues were not resolved to my satisfaction mainly because I couldn't get customer service for both Uhaul and Movinghelp.com on the line after spending hours and hours on separate days trying to get help regarding my many issues.Sherita F. | Overall Experience

First let me say that, in this survey that I'm completing, Uhaul has my move in date WRONG. I hope I'm not being billed for the 5th when I moved in on the 8th. Lastly, my customer service experience with all of the employees working at the Clinton Township location and even the employees at your Roseville location were very knowledgeable and so helpful. The staff at Clinton Township made sure I understood the services being offered and were very patient when I had questions. The only reason for a 4-star and not a 5-star is because on move in day, my storage unit was tagged as available for move in (as if it were throughly cleaned and ready to go). My storage unit was NOT cleaned. It was evident when all of the white spiders ran from the pest control bate box that showed evidence that it was very old, covered in dust & spider webs and the unit itself was dusty and has spider webs. I had to call to the front office for someone to bring me a broom. Beth was prompt in coming over to assist. I opted to clean/sweep myself and Beth drove back to the office to get me a freshly made insect/pest box. She apologized for my unit not being properly cleaned and I was thankful for that.
