On many occasions I was unable to get into the building during open hours. Something wasn’t working on either the doors, the check in box or the unlock boxes. On other occasions the employees had placed locks on my unit stating that I had not paid, then apologized when realized that I have automatic withdrawal and always paid on schedule. But this repeated again. Basically staff was nice but every time I wanted to get in my unit there was an issue that had nothing to do with me, but it stopped me from getting into my unit. So was frustrating. Employees were nice though.

The 5x8 trailer we rented and was told was "around back" for us to get, was not there and the front desk person said "it must have been stolen last night." Since another one was not at this location, we had to wait 2 hours for one to be brought from another location (Midland) and this set us back 2 hours plus to travel to KY from NC. It all cost us 2 hours of pay for 2 employees who had to wait for this trailer as it was to transport materials to a jobsite. The front desk employees comment was totally unprofessional and we will not be renting from this location again.

Why do people who pre-check in have to wait in the same line as walk in customers? Eleven people deep and one of two employees is monitoring cardboard boxes instead of moving people through the line.

I rented a both a truck and a unit on Friday the 9th. I requested a 10x10. Went to unit. Swipe card did not work. Came back to desk. Associate walked me down to unit. Discovered that unit that was rented to me should not have been due to the fact that the roof was leaking. That was the last 10x10 available. Had to settle for 8x10. I went to that unit and there was a lock on the unit. Walked back up the hill. At that point I decided to take the rental truck home and start loading up to come back hoping that when I do come back all will be taken care of. It was. The only reason I rented the unit from U-HAUL is that you were running a 1st month free program. If that wasn’t the case I’d go elsewhere.

Make the drop off time clear. We were charged extra after finding out the day before we had to drive almost 30 mins from out house just to pick up the rental. So this pushed back our time and we ended up being charged $140 extra. We are not happy. Extra for gas, milage and time.

The check in was a little bit slow. But it wasn't because of the worker. I reserved the truck online and somehow it didn't complete the reservation. But then I had two reservations for two different places with different equipment and the wrong times. Luckily at pick up the worker was able to fix it all and have a truck ready for me.Your website needs some work it's not fabulous.

Although most of the staff have been great in assisting me, I have had problems with this particular Uhaul facility from day one. System failures and lacking updates has each shift doing different from the other. Damages, locks on free month, and emails threatening late payment fees and liens on my property have been more than enough issues being at this storage.

While the staff was very accomodating, the units were booked solid and the truck was not available on the scheduled day and we had to come back the next day. Huge inconvenience, but not the fault of the staff.

The vehicle I operated was probably ready for retirement. It struggled with acceleration and possible misfires. Also during turns you would hear a lot of popping. It also has been banged up a lot. You could see noticeable that people have his stuff in it.

Make the the cab is clean before renting to another customer. There was fast food wrappers and napkins behind the seats and a sticky film on the floor of the cab. The customer service rep, however, was extremely helpful in getting me another (although smaller) truck when my 20' truck was not returned in time for my pick-up.

I was charged for a 4 day rental. I rented and returned the vehicle the same day. I had a voicemail that said they could not locate the truck. I returned it the same day and left it in the return line, spoke with the attendant and followed his instructions. He said he would check it back in. I spoke to the store the following day and they said everything was fine and that it was their error. Today I received a receipt for my credit card charge that was for 4 days. Waiting for a response for the incorrect charge. Good thing is, I have a time stamped photo of the odometer that shows it was returned the same day.

I was quoted and agreed to a price w/my printed quote for a one-way rental. On the day of pick up they charged me $180.19 above my quote. This was the 2nd time in 3 weeks I rented from U-haul. I will use Budget on my next trip.

When I first got there I got a truck with a dead battery I had to go back into the store to get a set of paperwork and keys. When I got switched over the system charged me for double the insurance, I am still waiting for the correct amount to post to my account since Friday. Then finally Sunday morning I got a call from an employee asking if I returned the truck ??? When I did on Friday the checked me back in and charged my card ??? The whole experience was definitely not smooth sailing I wish the employees had a bit more empathy and urgency to handle things.

The truck was dirty in the inside. The truck was not clean. I am also glad that I didn't have to go far cause I felt like the truck was out of line. I have rented from Uhaul several times and I feel like this was the raggedy truck that I have every rented.

It took a great amount of time for personnel to hook up the trailer to my vehicle. This was due to lack of staff available to provide service. This is the only incident to where I experienced less than average service. The other occasions were good.

Reservation system needs help. I put in all required information on internet and had order number. When I came to pick up I had to do the same thing I had already had done. While I was picking up Auto transport my wife got a call and was asked if I was if I was getting two auto transports. I don't think I needed to do the paper work twice.

Better communication: 1-pickup location was changed without a option to decline. 2-Originally reserved truck for 24 hrs, didn't need it thar so returned it 3:45 the same day, upon return I was told they were very busy, leave the keys in cup holder. 3- I get 2 separate calls Sun, advising I would be charged a late fee if the truck is not returned, in the second call I advised the young lady I just received a call & she exclaimed “What did she say because there are no notes in the system!” What why do I need to do their job! Finally I did not get a call back so I went to the location in person & I was told oh yeah they found the truck, we won't charge u a late fee! So I received 2 calls for a truck I returned early on the same day & no call telling me they located it! Never again!

I would give a 5 star rating but when I went to go pick up my reserved room in a temp controlled room, it was no longer there. It was given to another customer. So i was placed in the 2nd floor not temp controlled. But other than that, it was great experience.

Yea you definitely need to look into improving your service. If a customer moves out of a unit it would be wise to assure the unit is cleaned and the customer lock isn't still on the storage unit. I had to wait 4 hours to move into my storage unit because no one made sure it was customer ready. I was told the manager would call me when the lock was removed but did not recieve a call, I had to return and check to assure the unit was available to move in. I had to pay my movers extra money. I also missed my flight and had to make hotel arrangements because of this unorganized location. You have units showing available that has already been rented out online to other customers. You also have customers living in the storage unit. I honestly don't feel safe leaving my belongings there. Do better.

The people at the customer service desk were overall pretty terrible. Had some miserable younger heavyset woman help me at first, I had never been there before and she treated me like an idiot. The staff at the desk weren't wearing masks but they made the customers wear them. If they did have them on they were under their nose. The lady that was maintenence/custodial with short hair was a very nice lady I talked to multiple times.

After we had the truck full - the inside rear tire on the passenger side was completely flat and the outside one was bulging. Fortunately I had a neighbor with an air compressor to fill them up before driving for 3 hours. Also the ramp mechanism is not working well once you pull it out - it was like it was stuck and had to work it to get it into place

Poor customer service. Employees on phone instead of servicing customers, could not tell us another location of additional equipment we needed, could not resolve the damage claim made on items in a storage unit that had a leaking roof that was not repaired nor was our items replaced under the insurance claim. I am comparing my experience to CubeSmart. I reserved a ground floor climate controlled unit on line. When the rep took me to the unit it was already rented to someone else. She then gave me a smaller second floor unit. The line was too long for me to wait to get the problem corrected so I just settled for what I got. I rented three units from Cube Smart and there was no line, no wait and everything I got exactly what I reserved. Cube Smart employees all wore masks and were very aware of Covid. Your employees did not wear masks and unfortunately non of the customers standing in line inside the store did either.

Last 2 Sunday’s have been a problem. Main sliding door not opening. 1st Sunday young man took his sweet time getting it unlocked. Last Sunday’s,nice young lady took care of it, she was very pleasant and explained why. The guy there on Sunday was not friendly.

I hired movers when I got to the storage facility we couldn’t get in and had to go back the next morning. I was charged for one hr. Which was $90 dollars and $228 overnight storage fee. Uhaul couldn’t find me in the system even though I had my paper work. I have called the manager and to response from phone or email. Thanks

They charged me for a cleaning fee that was $25 and they took pictures of the dirt that was on the floor mat on the driver's side. Then they charged me $21.40 for a after hours return fee for the uhaul truck. I got the truck from April 2nd to the 8th and I returned it on the 4th?? So I really don't think I should have been charged for that, or any charges especially when there guy manager took us that we did good and nothing was going to be charged to my card.

At no point was I told I had to have a round lock until I was already checking in and they're with my merchandise. So I had to leave my personal belongings in the storage unit overnight unlocked because there was nothing open do the seats new hours regarding Cov- 19virus. So the next morning I had to wait time in line for 25 minutes just to purchase one of their logs when I could have been told that night So the next morning I had to wait time in line for 25 minutes just to purchase one of their locks when I could have been told that two days earlier when I first reserved the. When I received the truck in Salisbury it was dirty it had less than 3/4 of a tank and then they charged me because she mismarked the gas when I first got the truck. she didn't do a walk-through with me she just gave me the keys didn't check the fuel to see that it differed from what was marked on the paper. So then they charge me for fueling when I put it back as to where it was when I first got the truck. I also had to clean the truck from the previous person because they gave me a dirty truck. and if that wasn't enough they charge me for mileage when she told me it was unlimited up to 50 miles because it was a one-way rental. So next time I think I'll have to go see Penske or somebody else because this end up costing me more than they would have charged me not to mention all the headaches from the moment of getting the truck or trying to get it it was a big nightmare and it continued on to the storage unit. So no I would have to give you less than one star. I had been renting from U-Haul for over 30 years and this was very disappointing not to mention costly of time and money. the only one I can say that was nice was when I picked up the truck the lady was nice and the lady was nice at the U-haul center in the morning of the 29th however the man in the evening of the 28th was very, let's put it this way you could tell he didn't want to be there. Very dissatisfied customer a 30-year customer and you guys blew it on a truck rental and a storage rental.

I wasn’t offered insurance and when my stuff was ruined with leaks from the ceiling and rat/mouse dropping I was blown off by management and was told there was nothing they can do about it. Poor job

I went out of my way to get a truck which messed up my moving plans and when I got to the storage facility there wasn’t any disk locks left. I doubt I’ll be using any services for the future.

Working a 9-5 the hours didn’t allow for me to talk to someone in person during the week. Forcing you to visit on weekends. Also being allowed to pay by phone but not cancel by phone is ridiculous.
