Great customer service and great communication
Devonte W. | Overall ExperienceElevator broke and using the stairs to move our storage items was not easy and we our in our seventies and not in great health. When we asked for help the staff told us to hire someone to help us. Plus they had I don’t give a darn attitude which was not appreciated. In fact the staff who were in early thirties even had the gall to tell us that even they had to use stairs to go to second floor. They also told me that they would not adjust my monthly rent because of the elevator situation.

Kenneth M. | First ImpressionsHad the worst experience during the end of my tenancy at this Concord location. I was treated and spoken to in such a disrespectful manner by the manager Heather and another member of her staff. I was accused of owing a balance that was not corrected in the system, I was spoken to over the phone rudely and was promised an apology but never got one, and when it was time to move out the manager wasn’t helpful on assisting me in a timely manner but took the time to gather 2 other employees to watch me clear out my unit on a busy Saturday while giving me 1 hour to clear my storage after waiting for 45 minutes for them to give me access to my unit. When I first got my storage through the first manager there were no problems and everyone was nice but this new manager just tried to prove herself in the wrong way with the wrong one. Also witnessed her speaking to some of her staff members in a nasty way as well. I am an interior designer that was going to continue my storage needs with this location due to convenience but now after my experience I wouldn’t rent a trailer hitch from them if they paid me! Management makes or breaks an establishment.
MARVIN T. | Overall ExperienceTwo days prior, I reserved a 1st floor, climate controlled unit online and received a confirmation. When I showed up with moving helpers to unload the truck, I was told the facility did not have any climate controlled units available. The manager and front desk worker both had a nonchalant attitude. I was encouraged to call U-Haul and file a complaint which was not what I wanted to do. I needed a storage unit! I ended up renting a heated unit. Is reserving a climate controlled unit online a bait and switch tactic? Knowing when a customer arrives with a truck and moving helpers s/he will take a readily available 'Heated" unit. for the same price of a more expensive climate controlled unit. Hmmm?
Karen M. | First ImpressionsFirst night at the facility after checking out I went back a couple of hrs later tried to get in the facility and couldn't. The "system" said I'd need to contact the Mgr. I figured I'd wait until the morning and go back to try again, it worked. I assume the computer has a time reset or something like that so it wasn't a big deal. Other than that the only complaints I have is the elevator isn't working and hasn't been for sometime preventing people with disabilities to use larger units. My issue was I have physical limitations even though a larger unit(s) are available I cannot go up and down stairs carrying stuff and moving heavy items upstairs without an elevator or something other means to get to a level higher than the ground floor. The other issue really doesn't have anything to do with U-Haul, people just need to be more considerate as they aren't the only people using the facilities. Blocking doors and leaving a mess of their personal crap and just general poor disposition is a problem that can be resolved but they're too lazy and are a VERY poor example for their children. Especially when you see the children acting out as a DIRECT result of the parents poor behavior.

There was roach droppings and dead roaches everywhere and there was no way I was taking any of it to my new house. I really think I should get my money back for the storage that I threw everything away from.

Jason G. | Overall ExperienceCharged us rent when first month was free then gave our reservation to someone else. Once we got a new unit which was smaller we were told that if a lock was on it then to call corporate because there was nothing she could do and then she left for the day. We were not able to unload the U-Haul truck and my husband works all week so now U-Haul needs to fix this mistake and move our stuff since we now cannot. Appalling service. Will never use U-Haul again.
