This was not the original location for dropoff, which was near and the same zip code as my new address... but that location DID NOT accept uhaul trucks and could not help with finding an authorized dropoff location... I had to drive through the city to find an open uhual location... and I was not familiar with the area... but the personnel at that Concord Pkwy location were very accommodating... I submitted a request for a truck with an appliance dolly. When I received the truck after hours there was no appliance dolly so I had to wait for someone to help me move my stuff. Also the miles on the truck were off in which I took a picture and submitted it. When I returned the truck I was told that the miles were corrected by me yet I still got overcharged by 33 miles. This was a grave inconvenience for me. I would not recommend this particular uhaul due to the poor communication and customer experience.larry L.

The worst customer service experience I have ever received from any business. Management is not attentive to customer concerns and makes no effort to address any issues reported. I used your location @ 855 Concord Parkway S. for storage. I also used a Charlotte location for the truck to move into storage at Concord and the service was equally horrible. Charlotte waited until I was on my way to pick up my reserved truck to tell me they didn't have it so I had to drive 30 miles to get one. I get to Concord and they don't have the unit ready so I wait an hour only to be told it wouldn't be ready until the next day. I had to leave my life packed on the truck in the parking lot at Uhaul and miss work. The next day when I arrived back at the site (Concord) only to be told the unit still wasn't ready. I was basically told I would have to take two smaller units instead. When I checked out on 5/28 a lot of my items were destroyed and broken which I convinced was due having to cram everything into a smaller space. I cried a lot while unpacking because the lack of concern that was shown for things I have worked hard to have. Not to mention the sentimental value. I hope this helps in some way to change the way Uhaul treats their customers so that no one walks away feeling the way I have felt during this process.Chastity B. | Overall Experience

Returned Truck after hours . Called Uhaul to complete Check Out . Could not complete Check out because Uhaul could not verify my location . I brought truck to correct location but UHaul had wrong location . Had to call 1-800 number and they were very rude and not helpful at all . the van that i was charged for was not the van i was given, so the mileage is way off. i was told that since i had an online resevervation for a van that wasnt there, that they would change to the van that i actually received. But this obviously did not happen and i was charged for the 200 miles, plus 329 miles that i did not use. The van i actually was given was BE1247E. And i returned the van Saturday evening at 730 pm, yet was charged an extra day, which i did not use it for. Because the van was not the van in your system, it would not let me online check out.William C.

I called this location to verify reservation pick up address and was told the wrong location. Was sent to the wrong place 2 times. When I got to the pick up address which was different than my email or text confirmation, the truck wasn't there. I had to spend more money to get a bigger truck. They started my reservation over an hour before I actually picked it up. The female who checked me in was wonderful. So much. Make sure that the truck is in good standing. It almost broke down on the return. To top it off I had to wait 2 hrs to rent a truck since uhaul decided to close down in the middle of a work week. And the only places with the truck size I needed was close. In the middle of the day. The people working at this facility are disengaged when a customer shows up. They act as if it is a burden to help a customer. They never greet the customer, never smile and seem to dislike where they are. These people have no concept of what customer service is. When I returned my trailer, the guy there took a connector off the trailer and then told ME to disconnect the trailer over in another area. No help at all. Every one at this facility that works with a customer needs to be fired. Get some people in that place that at least know how to treat a customer.Tom S.

The customer service was non existent. We were told to top back by after we hooked up the trailer so she can give us a special wire. I assumed someone would go over the damage with me. I was told to just to use the ink she sent. I went back out and a guy brought out a wire I had no use for. I told him there were damages not stickered and he said to wait. Finally Sha'kisha came out and said "whats your probem" I showed her the damage and she said wait a minute and went back inside. When she came back she had stickers. She started putting them on and ask if I uploaded my pictures. I said no and she smarted-off "you are supposed to do what the link tells you to do" after I followed the link and said ok, I'm done she just walked away. The customer service rep was rude because the first Uhaul had no gas and she had to write up another contract. It was a different contract. She lashed at me because I asked why the contract was different. We understand the gas shortage but don't take it out in your customers. Being able to fill out rental agreement on line was great, however it still took over an hour to check out my vehicle once I got to the U-haul dealership mostly to see a representative and only one person there ahead of us. Turning back vehicle was great not having to deal with anyone and doing the on-line turn-back. Over all it was good.Jerry K.

The truck that I reserved was not there, nor any dolly's. I had to settle for a smaller truck. this increased my mileage distance because my number of trips increased. I was given 38.00 dollar refund for my troubles and the 3rd day for free but then I was charged a 70..00 dollar surcharge for fuel even though I brought the truck back with the same amount of fuel as when the truck was picked up. I will no longer rent from u-haul with the troubles I experienced.John S.

Being a retail store manager I know what great customer service looks and feels like. This could be normal operating procedures however if it is I'll never see the doors of a U-Haul dealership again. The idea of being handed a truck key and it being indicated that I'm responsible for going and finding the truck and hooking up the trailer didn't sit well with me, especially when I had a pre-authorized rental and was on time for my appointment pickup. Additionally the truck was dirty, employees walking around with cigarettes hanging out of their mouth etc, change oil light on in the truck and only a quarter tank of gas!! I rented the unit on-line, then asked at the desk for more information. One of the clerks took me to the entry and showed me how it worked by using the keypad. He also said I would be getting a key card to use. He left and I showed my sons where the unit was, then went down to unload the trailer; however, the loading door would not open. I walked back to the office and a clerk said she would be over to help shortly. After waiting 10 minutes, I found another clerk who said they forgot to open it that morning and he would let them know. In a few minutes it was opened. I went back to the office to get some moving wrap, tried to pay cash, and no one had a cash drawer, so I had to use my card. When I asked the clerk when I could get a key card, she created it right then. I don't know why the first clerk couldn't do it. This facility is understaffed. The staff may be friendly if they weren’t so busy so I will say they’ were friendly in this review. Every time I went into the facility there was always a line of people waiting to be serviced. The last time the system was down. I had problems with management removing the insurance charge from my account. I brought my homeowners insurance to them twice. When I got to U-HAUL it took over 35+ minutes to complete my getting access to the facility. I would assume if I am reserving online, the process would be a lot faster once I arrive. My unit was in the back where the swipe check in/out pad was ALWAYS messed up. I called and complained 2 times and heard nothing back from anyone. Its an inconvenience to not know if you can check in the box near your unit or you have to drive to the front check in there, then drive to your unit in the back. No one sent an email to the customers whose units were in the back to let us know to please chek in @ the front until further notice. Its a simple communication issue I'd say. As far as the staff they are pretty much ok. Yesterday Dec 2 everyone was great! A few times I've come and complained about the check in/out box not working and they seemed uninterested. The access readers were broken several times. At one point there were homeless people in the storage building walking around and in the bathroom. I had a unit for 10-11 months and the alarm would always go off ever time I opened it. On many occasions I was unable to get into the building during open hours. Something wasn’t working on either the doors, the check in box or the unlock boxes. On other occasions the employees had placed locks on my unit stating that I had not paid, then apologized when realized that I have automatic withdrawal and always paid on schedule. But this repeated again. Basically staff was nice but every time I wanted to get in my unit there was an issue that had nothing to do with me, but it stopped me from getting into my unit. I rented a both a truck and a unit on Friday the 9th. I requested a 10x10. Went to unit. Swipe card did not work. Came back to desk. Associate walked me down to unit. Discovered that unit that was rented to me should not have been due to the fact that the roof was leaking. That was the last 10x10 available. Had to settle for 8x10. I went to that unit and there was a lock on the unit. Walked back up the hill. At that point I decided to take the rental truck home and start loading up to come back hoping that when I do come back all will be taken care of. It was. System failures and lacking updates has each shift doing different from the other. The people at the customer service desk were overall pretty terrible. Had some miserable younger heavyset woman help me at first, I had never been there before and she treated me like an idiot. The staff at the desk weren't wearing masks but they made the customers wear them. If they did have them on they were under their nose. I am comparing my experience to CubeSmart. I reserved a ground floor climate controlled unit on line. When the rep took me to the unit it was already rented to someone else. She then gave me a smaller second floor unit. The line was too long for me to wait to get the problem corrected so I just settled for what I got. I rented three units from Cube Smart and there was no line, no wait and everything I got exactly what I reserved. Cube Smart employees all wore masks and were very aware of Covid. At no point was I told I had to have a round lock until I was already checking in and they're with my merchandise. So I had to leave my personal belongings in the storage unit overnight unlocked because there was nothing open do the seats new hours regarding Cov- 19virus. When I received the truck in Salisbury it was dirty it had less than 3/4 of a tank and then they charged me because she mismarked the gas when I first got the truck. she didn't do a walk-through with me she just gave me the keys didn't check the fuel to see that it differed from what was marked on the paper. So then they charge me for fueling when I put it back as to where it was when I first got the truck. I also had to clean the truck from the previous person because they gave me a dirty truck. and if that wasn't enough they charge me for mileage when she told me it was unlimited up to 50 miles because it was a one-way rental. So next time I think I'll have to go see Penske or somebody else because this end up costing me more than they would have charged me not to mention all the headaches from the moment of getting the truck or trying to get it it was a big nightmare and it continued on to the storage unit. So no I would have to give you less than one star. I had been renting from U-Haul for over 30 years and this was very disappointing not to mention costly of time and money. the only one I can say that was nice was when I picked up the truck the lady was nice and the lady was nice at the U-haul center in the morning of the 29th however the man in the evening of the 28th was very, let's put it this way you could tell he didn't want to be there.
