There was a lady that really tried to help we were given a unit that was already taken. Got all our stuff up to the unit & couldn’t get into our assigned unit because it was already a lock on it. At this time Uhaul was closed because we rented our unit a little bit before closing. Went back downstairs to the office fortunately we were able to get in because someone else was having issues. As soon as we walked in another lady not the one that had assigned us the unit said we’re closed I said I was just assigned a unit that has a lock on it she said oh well you have to come back tomorrow. I said but all my stuff is up there on pallets. She said you still gotta come back so as we we’re going back & forth the other lady that originally help me intervened she tried to find us another unit by couldn’t & was told we would have to see the manager in the morning. The other rude lady got into it with another customer when we were getting out unit assigned to us. She is so rude definitely need to work on her customers service skills. When I came I. The general manager was very helpful. The clerk/customer service rep at the desk was not very helpful. She could not locate my storage unit. She did not know how to read the storage map we walked around for several minutes trying to locate the storage unit. I had to try to locate the unit myself. The pickup location was great. But the reservation site needs work. I made a reservation for another location closer to home. This was our redirect location from "The Mobile Mac Shop"... The mobile mac shop sucked! It was supposed to be 24/7 pick up. We show up, see our truck, go through the online verification process, get to the truck to verify our purchase and see there was no appliance dolly like or blankets as requested in the reservation AND there was a charge for a regular silly that was never requested ( also not there). I tried to use the text system but was not able to get my issue resolved so I has to call in. After these things were removed, we confirmed the total and went through the steps to pick up our keys and there was no key. The lock already had the combo I'm it and there was no key in the box. We had to call U-Haul AGAIN. I got the same rep who was very nice and redirected us to another U-Haul... Overall, this added approx. an hour to something that should have taken mere minutes. The second place processed us quickly but we were pretty peeved by the time we for to this point. I do not think I will ever use or recommend the 24/7 pickup... It is too unpredictable. When speaking to the manager, he was short, rushed and impatient. He would often interrupt my information with either yelling at other customers in the store or reminding me that he is the manager. It would be nice if I was scammed out of $20 for a late returned on a truck that was returned at 2:30 PM on the same day I used it plus looking at my bank statement I see ANOTHER charge for an additional charge of $15. They don't answer their phone so I have to drive 15 miles to ONCE AGAIN try and get the over charge of $20 removed and see what the heck the $15 charge is for. Make sure that people understand they need to take a picture of the odometer BEFORE putting keys in the drop box we couldn't get in touch with anyone to get help waited over 20 mins on hold no one ever picked up. Was also very upset that when I tried to extend my rental was told that another person was getting it right after me which was a bold faced lie no one was picking it up until the next day. The day of the rental they were doing roofing on the building. I did my best to avoid the work but my personal vehicle still got a roofing nail in the tire... I would expect any vehicle that was returned that day has the same change of having some issue because of the roofing.Kyle D.
I rented a U-Haul and it was confirmed and when I went to get one, there was not a truck available. I was called in the morning by a very rude customer service rep to make sure we were still coming because we were running 15-20 mins behind, and she got very rude because we were late, but yet she didn't tell me anything about them not even having a truck for us. Pricing is ridiculous! I will not be using Uhaul ever again, especially this location. Maybe start with having trucks available before you confirm a reservation. I had to grease the jack stand as it wouldn't raise fully. When I picked it up was given no directions and agent only jacked stand 1/2 up when helping to hook it up. It wasn't until I got home I realized it would raise another 6 to 7 inches Upon drop off agent drove by truck on his bicycle while I was backing into lot to unhook and drop off. My reservation number is 27940116. I was suppose to pick up my Uhaul at 2pm Saturday June 20th. I arrived at 1:40pm to get all of the paperwork handled! When I arrived, we were told that they didn't have a truck for us. The gentleman said he called the surrounding Uhauls and no one had a truck. He hoped the individual with our truck would be back soon. We left the facility as he told us he would call with updates. We arrived back to our house at 2:00pm and recieved a phone call that the truck was in an accident and that he has a 20ft truck that we could be offered. We agreed then we're told it was only a 15ft truck. We knew we could not use that, as we are moving an entire house. We then were told that he would call us back with a further update. After an hour passed (at 3:00pm) we called to see if there was a truck. We were told that they didn't have a truck for us. Around 3:30 we had not recieved an update and we needed to get our house moved. I called one of the online number. I waited over 20 minutes to have a phone call answered. The woman who I received was very helpful and found us a truck, further away. I am however very irritated at we were delayed in total 3 HOURS because of this experience. This has by far been the worst moving experience of my life. We had to drive 17 miles further away one way, and pay for the milage and gas, to get a truck. When we were suppose to be guaranteed a truck closer to our moving location. If it wasn't for me getting anxious to get my house moved, we would have not had a truck and would have been SOL. I am very irritated about this whole situation as it made our move extremely stressful and wasted 3 hours we could have been moving into our new house. I am not pleased at all with Uhaul.Kayla S.

She was overly concerned with whomever she was laughing with on her phone, she left me standing in sun while she sat in truck on her phone taking her time checking me out. The worst customer service experience I have ever received from any business. Management is not attentive to customer concerns and makes no effort to address any issues reported. I used your location @ 855 Concord Parkway S. for storage. I also used a Charlotte location for the truck to move into storage at Concord and the service was equally horrible. Charlotte waited until I was on my way to pick up my reserved truck to tell me they didn't have it so I had to drive 30 miles to get one. I get to Concord and they don't have the unit ready so I wait an hour only to be told it wouldn't be ready until the next day. I had to leave my life packed on the truck in the parking lot at Uhaul and miss work. The next day when I arrived back at the site (Concord) only to be told the unit still wasn't ready. I was basically told I would have to take two smaller units instead. When I checked out on 5/28 a lot of my items were destroyed and broken which I convinced was due having to cram everything into a smaller space. I cried a lot while unpacking because the lack of concern that was shown for things I have worked hard to have. Not to mention the sentimental value. I hope this helps in some way to change the way Uhaul treats their customers so that no one walks away feeling the way I have felt during this process.Chastity B. | Overall Experience

I rented the unit on-line, then asked at the desk for more information. One of the clerks took me to the entry and showed me how it worked by using the keypad. He also said I would be getting a key card to use. He left and I showed my sons where the unit was, then went down to unload the trailer; however, the loading door would not open. I walked back to the office and a clerk said she would be over to help shortly. After waiting 10 minutes, I found another clerk who said they forgot to open it that morning and he would let them know. In a few minutes it was opened. I went back to the office to get some moving wrap, tried to pay cash, and no one had a cash drawer, so I had to use my card. When I asked the clerk when I could get a key card, she created it right then. I don't know why the first clerk couldn't do it. This facility is understaffed. The staff may be friendly if they weren’t so busy so I will say they’ were friendly in this review. Every time I went into the facility there was always a line of people waiting to be serviced. The last time the system was down. I had problems with management removing the insurance charge from my account. I brought my homeowners insurance to them twice. When I got to U-HAUL it took over 35+ minutes to complete my getting access to the facility. I would assume if I am reserving online, the process would be a lot faster once I arrive. My unit was in the back where the swipe check in/out pad was ALWAYS messed up. I called and complained 2 times and heard nothing back from anyone. Its an inconvenience to not know if you can check in the box near your unit or you have to drive to the front check in there, then drive to your unit in the back. No one sent an email to the customers whose units were in the back to let us know to please chek in @ the front until further notice. Its a simple communication issue I'd say. As far as the staff they are pretty much ok. Yesterday Dec 2 everyone was great! A few times I've come and complained about the check in/out box not working and they seemed uninterested. The access readers were broken several times. At one point there were homeless people in the storage building walking around and in the bathroom. I had a unit for 10-11 months and the alarm would always go off ever time I opened it. On many occasions I was unable to get into the building during open hours. Something wasn’t working on either the doors, the check in box or the unlock boxes. On other occasions the employees had placed locks on my unit stating that I had not paid, then apologized when realized that I have automatic withdrawal and always paid on schedule. But this repeated again. Basically staff was nice but every time I wanted to get in my unit there was an issue that had nothing to do with me, but it stopped me from getting into my unit. I rented a both a truck and a unit on Friday the 9th. I requested a 10x10. Went to unit. Swipe card did not work. Came back to desk. Associate walked me down to unit. Discovered that unit that was rented to me should not have been due to the fact that the roof was leaking. That was the last 10x10 available. Had to settle for 8x10. I went to that unit and there was a lock on the unit. Walked back up the hill. At that point I decided to take the rental truck home and start loading up to come back hoping that when I do come back all will be taken care of. It was. Poor customer service. Employees on phone instead of servicing customers, could not tell us another location of additional equipment we needed, could not resolve the damage claim made on items in a storage unit that had a leaking roof that was not repaired nor was our items replaced under the insurance claim. I am comparing my experience to CubeSmart. I reserved a ground floor climate controlled unit on line. When the rep took me to the unit it was already rented to someone else. She then gave me a smaller second floor unit. The line was too long for me to wait to get the problem corrected so I just settled for what I got. I rented three units from Cube Smart and there was no line, no wait and everything I got exactly what I reserved. Cube Smart employees all wore masks and were very aware of Covid. I hired movers when I got to the storage facility we couldn’t get in and had to go back the next morning. I was charged for one hr. Which was $90 dollars and $228 overnight storage fee. They charged me for a cleaning fee that was $25 and they took pictures of the dirt that was on the floor mat on the driver's side. Then they charged me $21.40 for a after hours return fee for the uhaul truck. I got the truck from April 2nd to the 8th and I returned it on the 4th?? At no point was I told I had to have a round lock until I was already checking in and they're with my merchandise. So I had to leave my personal belongings in the storage unit overnight unlocked because there was nothing open do the seats new hours regarding Cov- 19virus. When I received the truck in Salisbury it was dirty it had less than 3/4 of a tank and then they charged me because she mismarked the gas when I first got the truck. she didn't do a walk-through with me she just gave me the keys didn't check the fuel to see that it differed from what was marked on the paper. So then they charge me for fueling when I put it back as to where it was when I first got the truck. I also had to clean the truck from the previous person because they gave me a dirty truck. and if that wasn't enough they charge me for mileage when she told me it was unlimited up to 50 miles because it was a one-way rental. So next time I think I'll have to go see Penske or somebody else because this end up costing me more than they would have charged me not to mention all the headaches from the moment of getting the truck or trying to get it it was a big nightmare and it continued on to the storage unit. So no I would have to give you less than one star. I had been renting from U-Haul for over 30 years and this was very disappointing not to mention costly of time and money. the only one I can say that was nice was when I picked up the truck the lady was nice and the lady was nice at the U-haul center in the morning of the 29th however the man in the evening of the 28th was very, let's put it this way you could tell he didn't want to be there.
