uhaul phone app sucked. laggy, inconsistent. Check in procedure should have been started prior to leaving house as the app requires pictures of driver and driver license. That information can be entered way prior to arrival. The personnel at the pick up location were extremely helpful.Bruce R.

By far the most unprofessional experience I’ve had with a business to date because of the poor customer service your employee Eric Austin & Scott have provided. Eric Austin threatened and challenged me plenty of times to a fight in which I would not of been scared one bit of this little guy but I was in the process of moving furniture into storage with my family. This guy was acting as if we were on the street and even told me let’s walk down the block off camera and handle it. I am 33 yrs old with 2 children & I can’t believe I had to deal with this poor customer service from your company. Had I not been with my nephew and family things probably would’ve went a different route to teach him a lesson but I’m glad I kept cool and got my storage and got out of there. The topping on the cake as I was moving all of my storage into unit another customer comes around the corner in the biggest box truck you have and tried to cut the corner to short and smashed and swiped the whole front of my uhaul truck that was totally off with no key in it in park. This was the worst experience I’ve had recently with a business and most of it was due to poor customer service, one of the main things that draws attention to your company you guys shouldn’t be pushing customers away based on your staffs attitude. I know Aaron personally from past business and he would’ve never gave me this type of customer service. I reserve my truck several weeks before my move and we confirmed but when we went to pick it up the day of my move, the vehicle that I reserved Was not available and it was very stressful. We had to wait for a quite a while and then eventually we were sent to her another location.John B.
The customer service I received from your employee Eric Austin was totally unprofessional. The gentlemen got easily frustrated with me because I was upset I was supposed to be reserved for a 10x10 space that he said was unavailable currently at the moment. He then walked out after continuing to give me an attitude in a threatening manner as if he couldn't deal with me and he was going to get someone else or he would do something to me. He then told me we can get outside and â€œhandle it like menâ€ also told me to meet him down the block around no cameras. Mind you I'm 33 yrs old with 2 kids there is no way I was scared of this small guy but really this is how you act at work? No matter how frustrated I got his behavior was beyond unacceptable. Finally another Employee also that was pretty confrontational by the name of Scott I believe was able to get the order done for me and work it out but he still was very nasty as if he was taking his side. Both of them were talking to me like I was a child and I don't take that lightly. He literally told me the only thing at he would finish the order for me is if I shut up and didn't say one word like I was just supposed to deal with their verbal abuse and have no opinion whatsoever. I told both of them plenty of times they were very unprofessional at their customer service & I would be reporting this. I know Aaron personally from past business and he would never give me this type of service as a customer. I've worked customer service many years of my life and this is not the way a business is ran this is the way you lose good business. I hope you would take this into big consideration. Last but not least as I'm moving all of my furniture into the storage unit, a customer comes around the corner in the biggest box truck you guys have and just tried to squeeze through a Space around the corner where he knew he didn't have clearance and just swiped the whole front of my truck. I then walked back to the front of the facility and reported the incident. Employee Thomas Bigelow tried to charge my father and I for moving blankets that we didn't use, nor ordered, upon return of the rental. When we told him we shouldn't be charged for an add-on we didn't use or order he become remarkably arrogant and his excuse was that the "green ties/tags" were removed from the blanket bag and that it was our responsibility to have notified him upon rental that these "green ties" were removed, so he'd still be charging us for them. How the hell are we supposed to know about "green ties" if we're never made aware of them or even know such a safeguard system existed? What kind of mind numbing logic is that? When we pushed back on his SCAM, he claimed there were signs displayed on the truck and blankets, which, SHOCKINGLY(heeeeeaaavy sarcasm here), such signage was NOWHERE on the truck, in the truck or on the equipment. He only eventually decided to refund us out of fear of winning a free ambulance ride for his poor attempt at pulling one over on my father and I. Why did it have to get to that point? How many other customers has he done this to? Is the importance of customer service just completely absent from UHAUL's training? A UHAUL employee drops the ball by not replacing these supposed green ties from likely a previous renter, so WE, the new customers, have to pay for it? We've made sure our family, friends, neighbors and coworkers heard about this "experience" and implored them to use UHAUL competitors. What a shame I couldn't give zero stars. This survey just reminded me to leave some real nice feedback on Google, Yelp, Facebook, etc.Ryan R.

No improvement necessary at all. Five-star treatment in Coram! I arrived at the Coram location after my original reservation was unexpectedly cancelled by an independent provider in the area. I was a little anxious from having such a poor experience initially, but greeted by Tom Bigelow behind the desk in Coram, I suddenly felt reassured. From that moment, my experience with customer service was exemplary. When I returned the van two days later, Tom once again provided a high level of customer care and I would definitely recommend the Coram location above others in the area. Guy at pickup says time not a factor. Return anytime before closing. Afternoon return guy says your late. Morning guy twice said he'd add moving blankets because I paid by the dozen. Only six in. Had to ask another guy for them twice after first guy said he'd take care of it. Guy at pickup took hand truck out so I wasn't charged for it. (You break the seal and you pay.) Luckily I took photos of him removing it cause afternoon guy didn't believe me and would've charged me. Truck served its purpose but be on your toes if you use them.John F.

The online check in process seemed easy but I arrived to the unit after closing. It took a while to figure out how to get into the building as I was trying to access the slide doors when Afterhours the manual entry door is the only point of access. It would have been nice to know that. Also, once I got in there was a locked padlock on my door so I couldn’t get into the unit anyway. That was very poor. When I tried explaining that to the rep the next morning he wasn’t understanding what I was saying even though there is no clearer way to say there was a locked padlock on my storage unit and I couldn’t get in. These guys were top-notch, hands down. Aaron helped me out in the morning after the app screwed up my reservation (corporate needs to look into that, cmon guys). You could tell Aaron knew the place inside and out. He was super nice, quick and got me in and out with the truck I needed and had an awesome attitude the whole time. Then the gentleman at night of whom I worked with to get a larger storage space and turn my truck in could not have been more pleasant or helpful.
