Customers are not the priority here. When I went in the store someone was in front of me already being helped. There was another employee, maybe a manager, behind the counter, but she ignored me. I think she was leaving for the day, but not even an acknowledgment that someone will be with me soon. The customer in front of me had several reservations. When the employee helping him finally acknowledged me, he said â€œI came in at the wrong timeâ€. Finally two additional employees came in and the first employee asked them to take care of me. They clearly did not want to be bothered. As we're going through the process, much of which I already did online, another employee lost his phone, so the person helping me had to stop what they were doing and call. It was an unbelievably frustrating experience. The van and return process was fine, mostly since it's self-service. There were customers that came in behind me too and most left angry and frustrated. I've used u-haul at a different location and had a really good experience, so this was a bit of a shock. Please provide better customer service. I know your job must not be easy, but there's gotta be a better way of doing this.Nicole V.

The service was fine but the actual 15' truck rental had two significant issues given my 700+ mile ride to move my 2BR apt. worth of stuff from one state to another. One, the steering wheel (alignment?) was off so in order to drive straight I had to hold the steering wheel 8 o'clock to 2 o'clock (truck pulled to the right). And two, the truck left a large oil spill in my GF's driveway after parking there for 24 hours.KEVIN G.

Horrible experience! Hazard lights were dysfunctional, headlights were dim, and shocks were shot on this truck with 157k miles on its odometer. It should be retired. The greatest failure on the part of u-haul is your failure to tell me how to navigate the local streets when returning the truck the next night! There are numerous low bridges blocking the path! Try turning around in a 26' truck on unfamiliar streets in the dark!THOMASJ L.

I'm so grateful for the way Tony at U-Haul Moving & Storage of Danbury helped everything go so smoothly yesterday when we unloaded two trailers (one after a cross-country drive!) and moved into a storage unit at the facility here in Connecticut. Tony was polite, efficient, fair, and good at his job, but more than that, I was struck by his warmth — talking to him, you know he wants to help you. What I'd anticipated would be a stress-filled day of tight connections and challenging logistics turned into a joy. From little things like recommending the best products for protecting our mattress and sofas to helping to quickly resolve a billing question, Tony really was the cherry on top of a two-week cross-country moving odyssey. My wife and I felt so taken care of, to the point that we were sad to say goodbye to Tony when our storage unit move-in and trailer returns were complete. The agent who took my reservation over the phone did a very poor job. She assured me the smallest truck has seating for three - it did not and when I came for pickup the next size truck was unavailable so one of my team could not travel. She also got my email wrong afteri repeated it three times. Thus I did not get the confirmation email. Also she had me picking up and returning the vehicle on the same night when I clearly told her I was returning the vehicle the following night. The vehicle and the staff at the site were solid, the order taker on the phone needs retraining.PATRICK K.

The online process was not streamlines and I was extremely disappointed with the level of commercialization and ads that were wrought with the online and phone reservation process, the rental process and then again with the total of 8-10 emails and texts during the simple process. I also put $30 of gas in the truck for a 4 hour rental and this was not credited in any way against the $13 mileage surcharge...Erika K.

I have no disputes. However I told the person at the desk to whom I handed over the keys that though I wanted NOTHING back the room I was vacating, it contained several boxes of brand new and expensive books, video cassettes, CDCs, sheets of stamps for collectors, unused new greeting cards for all occasions, unopened packages of stationery etc etc and it broke my heart that all this would be thrown into garbage. I pleaded that the boxes be opened and checked and these materials be salvaged NOT FOR RETURN TO ME but either to be kept by an employee for personal use or for sale or for donation to library or goodwill stores. I was promised that not only would this be done but that any bank statements that may be there would be shredded and that any family photographs that may be found would be returned to me or I would be called to pick them up. The lady even asked me for my phone number and wrote it down. She promised that I would be informed. My only regret is that I have not heard a word from your office in this matter. So, NO DISPUTES, ONLY REGRETS, I feel that someone who had the storage for years deserved this courtesy. Minor issue: I usually had to find staff to get the sliding glass door unlocked during normal open hours. The main door has a large threshold that makes it difficult to move a heavy or fully loaded cart into the facility without risk of damage from items falling off. This can get pretty frustrating when you need to move a large volume of items in a hurry. It'd be less of an issue if the threshold of the main door is fixed to allow carts to easily roll in.
