I always use the uhaul on east third street for all my storage and truck rentals. The first time I came into the store Aughn'ae helped me, and has been there every single time I've come in and needed a rental or any assistance. He is always working and has helped me every time. Customer service/dispatch sucks!! Requested small trailer. Called at 8:30am and requested for 9 or 9:30 if possible. Requested pickup from Troy, OH location. Said they had one in Troy and took payment then said someone would call me within 10 minutes to confirm. Never received a call, waited on hold twice because first call eventually dropped, then I realized I had a text with Trotwood, OH as pickup location. Drove 30 miles to Trotwood and they did not have trailer. They said I was still showing in system that I needed called but they had me as a 12:00 appt time. They sent me another 20 miles to Third St in Dayton, OH. Luckily they had one and I got started on my job about 2 1/2 hours later than planned. Costing people money is not cool. Third St took care of me but still never received a call and had to drive another 30 miles to return trailer costing me another hour and a half of lost wages. Overall my experience was okay, but I requested and paid for 3 dozen furniture pads. When I got to my destination 60 miles away I found that I had not been provided any pads. Luckily the had 6 in the truck in a sealed pack that I had to open. I explained to the guy who checked me back in that I had not had my furniture pads. My rental truck smelled so strong of cigarette smoke it make me sick. I reserved for no contact pick-up and nothing worked. It put me behind schedule 45 minutes. Very frustrating. The team member (AJ Ross) was very helpful and did what he could to get me out of there but I ended up having to repeat EVERYTHING I had already entered online. I had scheduled this pickup to happen over my lunch hour and it should have been very easily accomplished but I was late getting back to work because of the set-backs.GRETCHEN C.

First of all, your $50 guaranteed rental doesn't mean anything when you have to drive an extra 20 miles both ways to pick up a truck from another location. After paying mileage and gas the $50 is gone, plus the giant inconvenience of losing a half day of labor when all your help is standing around with no truck. That may not be this specific locations fault; however, the floor of the truck was sticky like someone has spilled soda and left it to dry. The truck also smelled like someone had been smoking in it recently. The gentlemen behind the counter was courteous and understanding as well as a military veteran. His supervisor AJ was not. When asked if it I could return the vehicle to the location I had tried to rent the original truck from, he told me I would have to pay the extra amount of a one- way rental. To add insult to injury, I had to return the truck early because of my work schedule and they charge an additional $20 (after hours fee) because they didn't have to pay someone to take my keys. I am thankful you didn't charge me for returning the truck with a sticky floor from the previous renter.Austin R.

Employees were very friendly but I called many many times over a span of two months to see if there was any possible way I could cancel my unit over the phone and no one ever answered. Finally got time to go to my unit and manually cancel it, but waited in line 15 minutes before someone even noticed that I was there. Check out was great. Check in they were busy but kept the line flowing. Very pleased the 5x8 enclosed trailer was there and ready for me to move my daughter home from college dorm. When I opened the uhaul to put my things in there it smelled like old cat pee, I don't have cats and never have, but now my things smell like cat pee and I'm irritated! Also I went 12 miles in my Uhaul and it took 2 gallons of gas to refill, how much gas do these things drink! My dude who checked me out at the Uhaul place was amazing though he was really kind and helpful and got my reservation fixed quicklyJOHNATHAN T.

I wanted a pick up truck or van, all the site had were small trucks. The web site should reflect what's ACTUALLY there! The wifi connections were slow. This made it difficult for the employees to do their jobs. The staff was EXCELLENT and VERY accommodating. They more than made up for any issues with getting the rental!William H.

They force you to buy their lock do you have to buy renters insurance and then they like to charge $100 in late fees they have mice who will eat through everything I guess maybe that’s why they want you get the renters insurance the staff though was very friendly they did what they could I will give you guys thatBut I feel like they take advantage of people and situations that obviously have their stuff In storage for a reason I just think that they don’t have to charge such excessive prices in late fees and then the mice they put poison boxes out there with no poison in them so what’s that gonna doerica o. | Overall Experience

The old elevator doors sometimes hopped off their track, and the double door system meant that you were competing with other people who forgot to close it on a different floor. The security scanner sometimes didn't work on my building, and I had to use the other one. No way of knowing without asking. No mice presence for 2 years, until the very end (maybe the trap got old?) After paying for my storage unit around 5pm, I was told it would be unlocked by the time I returned later that night to access it. When I returned at 9pm, a lock was still on the unit forcing me to return once again the next morning during business hours. This prevented me from being able to return the truck at the scheduled drop off time. Good afternoon, My overall experience with U-Haul was a good one. I was greeted by a pleasant young man the day I moved my stuff into the storage. My original request was for a larger unit, after paying for the larger unit walking to the back this unit was already reserved. We walked back to the front, he asked about refunding me the difference since I now needed to downsize. The manager on duty told him, "not to worry about it, I would receive a credit the next month." The day I signed up for the unit I explained I would only need the unit for two weeks, I was informed U-haul doesn't prorate so I would be paying for the whole month. Fine no problem I needed the unit. I walk in on Friday July 31, 2020 to inquire about my refund and inform the staff I was moving out. I was then again informed the funds would be refunded to my card on file. I don't question anything the same information was provide by two different employees. Fast forward to an email telling me I was going to be charged a late fee. I make my way to the U-haul store on E. Third street to inquire about the late and why my money wasn't refunded to my account. I found out the overpayment was applied to the next month, even though I moved out and informed the staff the morning of. When the manager on dust asked me how he could help, my request was simple make sure your team understands and is aware of the information they are passing along to customers. As a customer it's not my job to know your system or how it works, it's also not my jo to police units prior to paying for it. Add the system been properly updated I would have been informed prior to paying for the unavailable unit. Easy fix I would have been offered the small unit and charged for proper amount. Thank you for the opportunity to express our opinion and share our experience with our rental unit. We had a very bad experience and would like to offer the feedback. The day after my daughter and I rented the storage unit, we returned to drop off some more items. We walked into the storage unit, and to say the place was an incredible mess is a giant understatement. We have a video clip of what we came across upon entering the storage unit, as it appeared everything was grossly vandalized. The isles were so cluttered with miscellaneous items and broken glass that we could not get through to get at our unit. We were slightly frightened as we did not know if there were perpetrators of any sort still in the building, and no other customers or staff were around to assist if any danger presented itself. We then left the building to go to the office and report what we found, and a staff member came to check it out. He was very nice and offered to clear a path but it was obvious this was going to take quite a long while. We were not able to wait for this as we were heading out of town, so we needed to send our items with a friend as they did not fit in our vehicle (the reason we rented the storage unit in the first place). We now need to make arrangements to drive to Chicago (3 hours away) to pick these items up. We tried to call the GM of the Dayton location, AJ Ross, on 3 separate occasions but did not receive a call back. He did finally respond to an email and simply stated, it was an auction and things got out-of-hand. He did not offer anything in the form of compensation for this despite being asked. He just did not reply any further. Please feel free to call for any additional information or clarification. We would share the video of what we witnessed as well. So the staff were super nice, but gave us pretty confusing directions to get to our storage unit. It was so hot out and we had to move our stuff more than once because we were confused about which door to go into. Overall, it was overly confusing. I think that someone should go with you to your unit instead of you trying to figure it out based off of confusing directions. Now that I know how to get in, I’m sure it won’t be a problem. Uhaul was recommended to me from a family friend. I had the insurance for my rental unit. All of my things were covered in mice urine, feces and bed bugs.
