My drop-off experience was night and day from pick up. The kind lady who helped us with the return could not have been more helpful or genuine if she tried. Had it not been for her, I'd likely never consider using UHaul to move ever again. I told her about our Oxford experience and thanked her for being so kind and informative- she was mortified I had such an opposite process at pick up. Hire her to manage the Marquis Chevron location in Oxford!!! Moving is stressful- especially when moving cities- customers who hire your company to help take a load off (pun intended) deserve management and personnel who care to assist in doing just that.Katherine K.
The 2 staff members that I interacted with were great, really efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. They got me in and out quickly both picking up and dropping off. They were five star. The truck had some minor damage and had a brake light out, but the biggest problem was that the cargo door's spring was way too tight and the door would go flying up immediately upon disengaging the latch at the bottom. This led to several incidences of the door getting jammed up between the top of the opening and the bottom of the door by the latch hanging over when the door would get away from people. So in summary great staff, but a truck that got the job done while causing some frustrations.Billy E W.

This review is for Birmingham area generally: My pick-up time was changed from 7 am to 5 pm with no notification by U-haul. I only discovered this the day before our move when the check in was for a different time than the one I booked that was on my confirmation email. I was on the phone for 1.5 hours the day before our move trying to reach someone who could help-- hung up on multiple times, sent to wrong scheduling office, etc. I was also driving around to independent UHauls because I was told there was nothing available in the area when I went to the location where I was supposed to pick up from. The only reason we got a vehicle at the correct time was because of a cancellation. Moving is stressful enough without getting jerked around by UHaul. Do not use the online reservation and expect your truck to be there at the time you've booked.Alex L.

My pick up was at Centerpoint. Arrive to my appointed time and to find out no truck was there then they send me to fultondale where there was also no truck available which they told me it was to get send to Eastlake where I had to settle for a much smaller truck than reserved. I ordered at a certain location and when i went to pick mu uhaul up they said i had to go somewhere else because the truck wasnt available there. I jad to drivr 17 extra miles.. i also ordered a Dolly and when i got home with the truck they didnt put that in the back. So a customer orders what they need and yall give them whatever yall feel without letting them know of the changes. Horrible experience.sarah C.

The worker she was very helpful. She was very helpful when she connected the trailer to the hitch on my car. Because I’ve never done it before. I was able to watch her do it. So I’ll be able to connect/disconnect the trailer on my own. But the unit my belongings were stored in was disgusting. Mice droppings ruined some of my things. I did the online pickup and the wait time for approval was about 20-30 minutesDaniel W.
Waited in the return lane for a few minutes. Nobody came to tend to me. I walked in and the worker was at the front counter watching a video on her phone with takeout food on the counter. I told her I needed to return the truck and she took the keys and did not give me a receipt/invoice or anything. I asked for one and she said the system was down. I asked her when it would be back up and she said the system comes on and off and she could not give me an estimate but she would send me an email. I never got my money back for the miles I did not use. I paid for 760 total and I know I only used 750. I took pictures of the mileage upon return and checked the original contract for the original miles.Archibald S.

I rented a 4x7 trailer and immediately returned it because it measured 3.5x7, which was smaller than I needed. When I explained it to the manager she said the 4x7 was the outside demissions. I explained the trailer with the ramp also had 4x8 and it was actually 4x8 inside demissions. I felt that some adjustment should have been made.HERMAN W.

I was charged for gas that was not initially in the truck even after showing a picture of the tank I took as soon as I entered the vehicle I was told it didn't matter because I didn't verify but, the person who helped me and my mother did not once tell me about The verification process that I was supposed to do also not only was it driving like it needed maintenance but, I had to stop and buy a broom to clean out the truck before putting my stuff injasmine T.

When returning the equipment the u-haul app would not upload the picture of the odometer. This did not work on Android but it did work on iPhone, a large over sight. there are so many things... tank was almost on E when I took it. When checking in I kept resubmitted the same odometer photo probably half-dozen times. Chatted with customer svc rep who then gave me the number to the Live Verification Team. I called them and waited 25 minutes to talk to someone. After they connected they asked me my phone number and then asked me to hold while they checked something. The call ended a couple of minutes later with no resolution. Since I didn't want to start a 30 minute wait I gave up and went inside to a live person and handed them the keys. Not great!Ken D.

While I give this location a good rating I was very unhappy with the rental process this time. I booked a truck to be picked up at a specific location, I got a text that the location was 30 some minutes away and I called and to confirm and was told the text was incorrect. When we went to get the truck, it wasn't there of course, which in turned messed up the movers (who saved the day because they switched jobs and came back). I am not sure what type of training is provided but whomever I talked to when I called clearly needs some more since they don't know how to read your data in your system.Lynann A.

Well, I spoke with someone within 5 days of getting the storage unit letting them know that we moved out of it. I rented a U-Haul from the Centerpoint location. I hate that it wasn't put in the system properly stating that I didn't use the unit for a full month. Other than that, everything was fine.LATAUNA M. | Overall Experience
I didnt get my truck until 2 hours after reservation time so i missed my movers. I had to be out of the house the next day and because i missed my movers, my family and i had to move our things ourselves. Customer Service said all they could do was extend the truck to 24 hours but because it was us moving our own things, we are still not done! I was not pleased with the size of the unit. iIt was advertised as being larger but the actual space to be used is smaller. The explanation was given that the price reflected that. Had I known that I would have not rented. The manager is very professional and nice to deal with that was the reason I chose to rent after renting a trailer. When I arrived and found that the unit was misrepresented and not all the 6x8x6.5 area was useable, it was too late for me to switch.
