I have never had so many problems in my life with a moving company or difficulties with so many people as I have had with you all from the beginning of this whole deal from February until June never in my life never ever was one appointment set correctly I kept being told nothing was done right. When I got to Maryland I was told that my U Box was not available on May 13th like I was told it would be in February they had nothing available for me at the time I was told it would be there I was put off until the next day after I got to Florida I was told that that appointment would not be when I was told it was going to be it was always put off put everything was put off nothing was done when it was supposed to be done or when I was told it would be done No one knew what was supposed to be done everybody had something different to tell me nobody knew what the right everybody else was supposed to do. I have never seen such an inapt organisation as u-haul I have moved several times in my 71 years and every time I've moved for one reason or another I have left u-haul and gone with penske and I don't know why for God's namesake I did not do it this time do it this time. I was told that I would be reimbursed ex amount of dollars for all my inconvenience this company could not give me back enough money to pay me off for all the inconvenience they have caused me and all the aggravation they have caused me I will never ever use you Hall again and I will never ever recommend them to anybody I know. Nothing, the person who checked us in was efficient and friendly. The van was brand new. Ran great, easy to use. When I dropped off the person stopped cleaning a truck to help us return the van, took the payment right there. Helped us with recommendations for our next rental. I picked up the vehicle and did not read the fine print where it says to verify the amount of gas in the tank. It said on the paperwork it had a half tank of gas, it had less than 1 quarter of a tank. I drove approximately twenty miles and was at about 1 eighth of a tank and put 5 gallons of gas in it before returning it. The odometer reading didn't even match. Other than that it was a good experience.terry G.

Uneducated staff equals disaster for a company! I had to stay is maryland an additional 2 days due to uhaul negligence. I paid 1300 to stay in orlando for for 2 weeks and now it's ruined . I have missed out and uhaul doesn't care at all. We had a 2 week window to get jobs and find a place to stay but now that's ruined. I hate this company. I will never recommend it to anyone I know. Especially not dundalk. Unprofessional. I need money back for my hotel stay & food expenses. That is the least that could be done! Make sure that going forward the for associates explain how the ubox works. I had no idea I had to wait 24 hours before I could access the unit. Ridiculous. That should be one of the first things you should tell a customer. I had no idea and was told that the ubox would be just "out" for me to access anytime. Well that was complete b.s.!MONIQUE A.
The protocols in place to minimize interactions because of COVID are certainly important and necessary. Part of the protocols that have me a little concerns is the reduction of interaction during hand off of equipment. When I got the van, if there had been anything wrong with it there wouldn't have been any obvious way to communicate that. The gas was a little low, which normally would have been resolved by the representative marking the adjusted level on the paperwork but that wasn't part of the process this time. There were no physical issues with the van, but if there had been any pre-existing damage I don't know how I would have communicated that so that I wouldn't be considered responsible for it. I didn't have any problems with the van (it was great!), but I was concerned that *something* would be found after I dropped it off that I'd be held responsible for without being able to ensure that it was actually the result of something I did. I know that with COVID there isn't anything to be done about all of this. I'm just hoping that when COVID is done this hands-off approach will end.COLIN B.

I scheduled the truck to be picked up in Owings Mills. I confirmed the pick up location the Monday prior to my move. I received communication later in the week stating the truck could be picked up in Dundalk which is 45 minutes from where I moved from. I was told to call Tracy @8008399396. Tracy was not in so I spoke with another person and expressed my dissatisfaction of having to drive 45 minutes to pick up the truck. Especially when I confirmed the pick up in Owings Mills prior to Saturday 4.24.21. I was then told Tracy would call me back and that a $50 credit would be issued because of the inconvenience and misinformation that was given to me. I have heard nothing from Tracy nor given a $50 credit. This is very poor customer service.JOSEPH B.

Everything went smoothly, the only issue I had was I had a pick up time before the store opened. I requested a pack of moving blankets. Went in the day prior to double check it was on my order and would be in the truck and they were. I was reimbursed for them.Keisha K.

Every time I have ever moved with you guys you manage to fuck it up. You changed my location 3 times, the last time being 15 minutes before I was supposed to pick it up. You had probably 5 different ppl contacting me at all time, all with different information. You changed my time by 2 hours and then when we get there all your computers and networks are down so checking it out took an incredibly long time. UHaul originally directed me to the Eastern BP location at 6425 Eastern Ave, Baltimore. Whikle there, I witness two other UHaul trucks arriving. This is no longer a BP station and the clerk refused to take the keys. There is still a sign saying UHaul rental on the corner. I had to scramble and figure out how to get hold of someone and sat on hold for a long time. Finally redirected to the North Point location. What should have taken 15 minutes and a quick walk home instead took nearly 2 hours and using an Uber due to distance. Unacceptable that UHaul is clueless to locations that are closed and sending their customers there to fend for themselves. Will think twice with the next rental.GEOFFREY H.

This is the most screwed up transaction I have ever had. I sent the vaults back empty but kept the rental. When I realized I did not need the box, I terminated the rental. I went to the facility to check the box to make sure it was empty. When they opened the box, it was full of someone elses items! Now they are trying to lien me for a rental I no longer have. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. Potential renters be aware, the customer service at this location is absolutely non-existent. Before you leave the lot, double - NO, TRIPLE check the mileage of the vehicle. Make sure they have the proper numbers. I rented a cargo van at 2pm, drove 11 miles in it, and returned it by 5:30pm. Received my bill and I was charged $80. My original quote was around $50. Upon inspection, I realize that I was overcharged on mileage. The lady working at the desk attempts to fix this, she ends up charging me an additional $20. She then gets the refund to go through for the additional charge and the mileage mistake. Two days later, I receive an additional bill from U Haul - charging me an additional $60 for the rental. I attempt to contact the manager of the store, she assured me that the other charges were holds on my account. They are still there a month later. If possible, rent from another company. If you have to rent from U Haul, DO NOT rent from this Dundalk location.Paul M.

I would make it so that all U-Haul locations can handle questions and changes to U-Box reservations. My U-Box was late because of a payment issue while I was in front of a U-Haul rep at another full-service store that even has a U-Box advertised in it, yet they could not do anything with my u-box reservation. Then the people you contracted to deliver my U-box were liars and grifters who had 1,000 excuses and couldn't keep their stories straight.Alex Q.

My unit was at the end of row the lights NEVER CAME ON did not feels safe when I was there by myself. When I said something when I closed out the unit I got " yea they are working on it". I rented the truck on Friday at 12:30pm, I told the lady at the front desk that I would be moving and I wanted to know how long can I keep the truck for? She said that I needed to return the truck the next day by 7pm no later because they close at 7pm, I said okay. When I went to return the truck by 6:45pm the next day the man at the front desk gave me a bill for $148.00 and some change, when I check the bill I was charged for two days of truck rental and I asked him why? He said that the truck had to be returned before 12:30pm in order to be charged for one day not two. I explained to him that the lady at the front desk told me that the latest I could return the truck was 7pm and that was the reason why I was there at that time. She made it seem like I was going to be charged for one day not two if I got the truck there by 7pm. He said that he didn't know why she said that because everyone knows that if you are one minute late to return the truck you get charged for the whole day. Needless to say I was not a happy customer because if I would have known I was being charged for two days I would have kept the truck and not rush to return it in the middle of moving.SUGEIRY B.

Than was given a larger truck (26ft) and told to go find it out near Northpoint rd. obviously the truck wasn't checked because after it got hot had little to no power steering. My experience with Uhaul wow I had two sectional sofa and boxes clothes in storage when I came to take my belongings out there were big rat holes in my sofas and boxes. The young lady never put my insurance in so they said I couldn't file a claim. So I called customer service the young lady that took my application no longer works for Uhaul. So I had to throw both sofas away and as I throwing it away the baby rats was jumping out the sofa. I will never use Uhaul again there were so many mice rat droppings on the floor. I'm 62 yrs old and I'm disabled on my right side of my body and I wasn't aware of the storage unit set up i rented a small unit and I was told that I would have to get a top unit and would have to use a ladder to put my things in the unit because that's the only one that was available but when I finished I noticed a lot of units that had the same tag that was the one I rented costumer ready I didn't go back to the office to complain but I will know better next time thank you for your timemichael t. | First Impressions
The only criticism I have is that on many occasions, ( at least once a month) there seemed to be multiple vehicles parked in the 3 space garage area, often unattended and very much in the way of using the space as advertised. Typically, this would be a truck and their personal vehicles sometimes taking all 3 spaces. One evening the garage was not only full but there were children riding scooters down the hallways and through the doors On another occasion there were 3 guys working and their rented truck and fully extended ramp was parked sideways across all 3 garage spaces. They kindly moved it and allowed me in, but then rather than backing it into the garage, they returned it sideways again ! Also, FYI, there seemed to be some rodent droppings on the floor of my unit when I vacated. I am 60 years old and need the short distance and indoor security that your facility provides. Perhaps just a note posted inside the garage to kindly leave space for others, not blocking any doors, or access to the garage area may be helpful in the future.
